i had money 2006. i tried the free trial of money plus. now i can't use my
money plus back-up file with any other money software.

i don't want to purchase the money plus and have to start all over again
with a new software.

Reinstall Money 2006. Locate the *.m16 that Money Plus made as a
backup for your Money 2006 file, and copy that to a *.mny name. Open
that file with Money 2006.

However you will have to reinput all transactions since you installed
Money+.

You have tripped over the problem that Money is a forward path. Once you
have moved from version "x" to version "x+1" (or greater), then you cannot
easily go back to version "x".
