I just paid for and downloaded money essentials. Then I found out it won't
read money 98 files which is what I have been using. Is there anyway I can
make the file readable by essentials or is there an upgrade available so I
don't have to pay the full price to get money plus?

No, and yes.

1. Uninstall and Return Essentials for refund.

2. Using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913108/en-us produce a
Money 2004 or 2005 file.

3. Download and install Deluxe. You can start with the free trial.
That should be able to convert the file Money 2004 or 2005 file.

Since I bought essentials online, how do I return it? Sorry if that's a dumb
question.

I am unable to download the transaction registers from my on line accounts at
Fidelity using Money Essentials. Is this normal or is this a function
deliberately ommitted from this software? I have tried clearing Internet
files from cache as the help section suggests and have also used the file
'quick fix" function.
