Why does Money access I'net when first starting?

Start Money, Click on "Update Now", enter Pin, get
" You cannot perform this operation right now. There is an online operation
in progress. Try again later."

What is Money doing?
Why is it doing it?
What is it downloading?
What is it uploading?

Is it doing something evil?

Check if you are auto updating stock quotes and etc. I have those updates
turned off and only to bank acct updates when I log in, log out, and manual.

Unfortunately, not running any auto updates (that I know of...nothing
selected by me). Any other clues would be appreciated. A mystery.
