    - Missing letter "c" I have a problem (first with Money 2003) that, when I enter payee that starts with letter "C", that letter is "eaten up" when Money tries to match the payee- so say if I want to enter "Cash" and the first match that Money comes up with is "Cardio" then I get "ardio", so if I continue typing it would be "ash". I have to put a space in front, finish typing, and then delete it. I just yesterday upgraded to 2006 and I still have the same problem there. I did notice that someone complained about the very same problem back in 2004, but only saw one reply suggesting it was a file corruption. I ran Money file repair tool, but it found no problems.     - Program changed Bank Name I am using Money 2005. My bank sold my mortgage to a mortgage company. I changed that OK. However, my bank account now carries the name of the mortgage company.     - Budget Summary History When Click on Budget summary tab, it shows me current months budget summary. But when I change the date in the date-combo box to previous month then it doen't update the screen. I mean it doesn't show me my budget summary for last month.     - Bill Payment Hi, I set up a few accounts on MSMoney 2004 (My account, my wife's account, a Joint Account,.....) and am experiencing a very confusing problem with Bill Payment that I would appreciate help with. Here is the scnario, let's assume that for my account, I set up Bill Payment to comapny xyz Corp which Money labels Payee 1. I then set up a Bill Payment to abc Corp which Money then labeled Payee 2. So far so good. Now my wife's set up payment to lmn Corp which Money labeled this Payee 1 and also set up payment qrs Corp and Money labeled this Payee 2 and here is where the problems start. After Payments are made to the respective Payees, I download the transaction to Money and in my account, Payee 1 is identified as xyz Corp and when Payee 1 transactions are downlaoded to my wife's account, Payee 1 is also xyz Corp instead of lmn Corp. The same thing happens with Payee 2 in my wife's account, it is downloaded as abc Corp instead of qrs Corp. From what I can tell, MSMoney does not differentiate between Payee 1 in My Account and Payee 1 in my Wife's Account, they are both identified as the same Payee when I downlaod the transaction into Money.     - Money 2006 Completely Hosed I've been using this version of MOney with no problems for months. About a week ago, all of a sudden it decided not to recognize that I was logged in to Passport, no matter what I did (tried every single remedy listed in the two KB articles, to no avail) I do have a backup .mny file (not a Money Backup, but just a copy of the file I normally save to a USB thumb drive every time I quit out) from the last time it actually worked. Everything in that file is correct. I had to reinstall IE, and then uninstall Money 2006 and reinstall it in order to get past the Passport thing. Now it will let me log in. However, two things are happening now - for one thing, even when I'm logged in, it displays as the Trial Version. I purchased this. The other problem is that as soon as I open the file, suddenly all these incorrect updates are coming in from online. Things like credit cards that were paid off and closed out last year are downloaded and now showing negative balances. That's bad enough, but I can handle those. However, my EXISTING accounts are showing wrong or inconsistent balances as well, and since I have data going back over ten years in here, I don't have any easy way of finding where the problems are, and there are many of them. Whatever's in my online money account is obviously wrong, although I don't know why that should be - I was using it fine until everything blew up last week, including online services. But it's overwriting the CORRECT data that's in my backup .mny file on my thumb drive (fortunately when I loaded it, I loaded a copy so I still have a pristine copy of my accounts as they are SUPPOSED to be) I'm really getting fed up with this. Even if I get it working, and even though I do have a file that is completely correct, whatever's online is going to keep over writing it with old data, and I don't even know where that's coming from. There's apparently no way to start with my good file and a clean slate - and why does this thing keep telling me I have a Trial Version?     - Can't reallocate FIFO lots I have Money 2006 Premium. I have FIFO selected in the Investment Settings. I have a stock that I have purchased and sold in different lots over time. Money says it uses FIFO to determine the cost basis for tax purposes. The help says I should be able to right-click on an investment transaction in the Portfolio Manager and right-click Reallocate Lots. However, the Reallocate Lots menu item does not appear in the right-click menu. I need to determine the cost basis of my FIFO stock purchases for tax reasons.     - Category Problems....HELP! I currently have Money 2006 Small Business. I started using Money years ago with earlier versions. The category list I use has evolved from the previous versions, and there appear to be many of the "standard" categories I don't use, and want to delete them (There are no transactions tied to them.) I've tried deleting these many, many times, but they reappear within a few minutes. I tried the "move" function, moving to a similar category that is being used (e.g moved "Medical-Dental" to "Medical/Dental") but the category reappears after a few minutes. I tried the "Remove unused categories" under tools>settings>category settings. You guessed it... they reappear after a few minutes! Anyone know what is going on and/or how to fix the problem?     - Login Failure Following Reinstall I had a hard drive failure a couple of weeks ago, and after reinstalling Money 2004 and restoring my documents (thank goodness for the external HDD backup!), I'm having trouble logging into Money. I opened the existing Money file, and everything seemed ok; it remembered my Passport ID just fine. However, it's not accepting my password.     - Why Import Data From Bank for Reconciling? Need Help!!! Hi All, This may sound like a silly question, but why do people import data from their bank into MS Money? For reconciling? I would like to start using the program for this, but from what I understand, which may not be correct, is that one of the purposes of reconciling is to compare your records to the records of the bank. If I download the bank's records into Money before reconciling, wouldn't I be comparing the bank's records to the bank's records? I wouldn't catch any bank mistakes. I do recognize that there are 2 reasons for reconciling: 1. to compare your notes to the bank's notes, and 2. to make sure that your checkbook matches the bank's balance. It seems like using the bank's data for import into Money would satisfy goal number 2. I can see this being imensely helpful. But when it comes to my money, I don't place 100% trust with the bank. A teller may deposit money into the wrong account accidentally (or at least hopefully accidentally!), an incorrect bank charge may show up. Your employer may mess up and not direct deposit the money into your account, etc. I used to use a program similar to MS Money, but found that typing in the information from checkbook to computer program took a long time.     - " Investments To Watch " in M2004 Deluxe I know it's late, but I just tried to use the "Watch List " feature in M2004 for the first time , and the instructions tell me to: Choose Investing - portfolio - 'add an investment' , then to choose " Investments To Watch" from the drop-down.     - $ 2006 Premium, Update Online Information Password request I updated from Money 2003 to Money 2006 premium this weekend, Everything converted and worked fine the first I sent my epays and updated my online information. The second time I try to use and each time siubsequent when I try to send an epay or update online information I get asked for my password and when I enter it I get message that my bank requires that I change my password before I update online information and then gives me instruction son how to do this in Money 2006.     - confusion about multiple accounts at same bank I have two Money files - 0ne for my personal accounts and one for my business. I use one bank for all of my accounts. Here's my problem: When I set up online banking for my personal accounts, it went out to the bank and rounded up all of the accounts I have there, including the business checking. It didn't seem to give me any choice about whether to "enable" each of the accounts for that particular Money file. It was all or nothing. Same thing happened when i set up the online banking for the buisiness files - I got all of the accounts, even when I didn't want all of them. I tried closing or deleting the extras, but the next time I did an update, it grabbed them all again (which means the updates are not available if I go back to the personal accounts file and try to updat them. AAARRRG! Does anyone know how I can choose which account(s) to update for each file? I'm using Money2005. Is this problem perhaps corrected in 2006? (If so, it would be well worth the upgrade...)     - Unable to open a Money 2001 file Hello I have a Money 2001 files that I cannot open anymore after reinstalling. The error message is : « your file contains coded informations, it cannot be opened with this version of money » (This a translation from french). I am SURE this file was created with the same version of money that I reinstalled. If I look on the Microsoft website for this error message, the knowledge database says that I have to find the EXACT same regional settings that I had defined when this money file was created.. And I have no way of remembering this - I just know for sure they were tweaked.. I call Msoft a few times now and they say it was possible to find those regional setting in the money file probably, but wouldn't tell me how as my money version is too old (2001) and not supported. They therefore didn't give me the info. Anyone here could tell me how I can find the regional settings within the money file ? Another solution : I actually have a drive image of the previous install. I cannot make it boot - But I still have the window intact. This is great and I like it, however I would like it to ignore one of my accounts for it's display purposes. I have two checking accounts setup in Money.     - Investment Performance Reports inacurate with stock split data I have many investments with stock splits. For example I bought 145 shares of Staples on 3/15/04 for 26.0321. I sold 70 Shares on 4/4/05. The stock split on 4/18/05 with 3 for 2 shares. The stock split feature worked to correctly give the 37.5 shares but it alters the share quanitites as well as the previous stock prices. What was 145 shares became 217.5 and the 70 shares became 105. When I try to run a performance report that gives the value of the stock on 12/31/04 compared to 12/31/05 the value is too low on 12/31/04. The cost basis of the stock is also incorrect.     - Allocate funds for annual expenses If I create an expense in my budget that is "yearly" for say, $1200. Money automatically translates that into $100 per month on my monthly budget. At first, I thought, that's cool, now I can make sure to earmark $100 every month so I actually have the $1200 sitting there when its due. But, as far as I can tell, Money doesn't have a way to earmark that $100 that month. In fact, if I don't spend that $100 on that budget category, Money tells me that I have underspent that category for the month. Then, when I pay the $1200 bill, it tells me that that I have overspent by $1100! So, if I have an annual (or other non-monthly) expense, how do I allocate the monthly budgeted amount so that money understands that I'm setting that money aside, and doesn't complain when I pay the the full bill? Hi everyone.

Would anyone know how to display net worth (as reported in MS money reports
i.e. assets - liabilities = net worth) within the home page of money 2006? I
have 'my favourite accounts" on my home page, but it would be nice if it
could make a summation of those values - much like quicken does - instead of
having to go to 'reports' > 'net worth'.

Any help most appreciated!

I just looked at all of the customization choices for the home page and Net
Worth doesn't appear to be one of them.
