    - Money Account Name I have an account that has a Custom Account Name. Every time I do an "Update Now" it changes the name by appending the Financial institution's name to the beginning of the Account Name. For Example. The Name Starts as Update 0, then an "Update Now" chages as follows. Update 0: Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 1: Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 2: Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 3: Chase Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 4: Chase Chase Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 5: Chase Chase Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credit Update 6: Chase Chase Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Credi Update 7: Chase Chase Chase Chase Amazon.com - Chase Cred And so on....     - receiving statements/entering transactions I download my transactions from the bank, money says I have 1 statement to read which says that I have let's say 5 transactions. So I click on the statement and nothing happens. So now it's been a couple of weeks and it still says I have 1 statement but not I have like 35 transactions.     - Portfolio Manager is Gray In Money 2006 when I go to Portfolio Manager I get a header bar at the top that looks good but the content window is just a couple of gray regions. I've searched and see others reporting the problem as far back as 2004, but haven't seen any answers. I've verified that if I go to moneycentral.com and get into the Portfolio that way (I See the Chart!). I get the same gray page. I've read the article on how to uninstall MSN Investor Toolbox but none of the steps apply to my situation. It says to use Add/Remove to remove MSN Investor Toolbox, but that isn't showing up on the list. It has me look for various OCXs, none of which are on the system. I suspect the uninstall article may be out of date, but I don't really know. How do I well and mightily get MSN Investor off the system so I can install it clean (beyond doing an FDISK) Thanks. Money 2006, Windows XP Home I have an investment account under the name of the company (AGF). At one time, I had two different mutual funds under this account. One fund has since been sold, and the other is still active. On the Investment Summary on my home page, both funds still appear. I want to get rid of the fund I no longer own. Before anyone asks, I have indicated under "Investment Transactions" that the one fund has been sold, and the balance shown for this fund is zero. So I have no money invested in this fund, but it keeps appearing in "Investment Summary".     - slow loading, slow updating I am using MS Money in a non-standard application. I am maintaining ledgersin checkbook fashion for 100 accounts, each set up as a separate checking account. Each of those has 3 transactions set up as automatic bill pays. Other than that, there are very few entries, averaging 6 per year at most. The program takes about 5 minutes to load. Corrections, such as posting bill payments, takes approx 10 seconds to cycle through: Open, edit, enter, wait........ Open, edit, enter, wait.....etc. I am not doing any online updating or anything like that.     - Citibank OFX. no transactions Hello. When I try to download Citibank OFX transactions, it shows how many transactions will be downloaded and asks you to click next to download the transactions. Then it appears to be doing something, it looks like the window that I usually click OK on after the transactions have been downloaded is being suppressed. No transactions show up in the register. I've tried clearing the temperorary internet files and cookies, but it isn't helping. I tried reparing the Money file too, but direct ofx works fine and so does ofx download from other websites such as the GM Card website. Any suggestions to fix this would be welcom.     - Closed accounts show up in Reports I see other posts for this and none of the supposed answers seem to fix my problem, at least permanently. I have one online account that is actually tied to 3 at my bank. All three accounts show up in money. One of these accounts is just an account I monitor, so I don't want it's transactions listed with mine during calculations. I have "closed" the account in money. I have unselected the options for this account to 1) Include this account in the budget planner and 2) Use this account for budgeted savings goals. None of these fix my issue (see post title). I notice that in the advanced report options, I can select/unselect the accounts I want factored into this report. I unselect the account I don't want and now everything works!! Except when I close money and reopen, that account is again checked!!! So it seems either I'm missing how to "save" the report settings I set, or something is amiss. Help?? Also, if I am in money and I deselect the account from the report "spending by category", it works while I'm in the report list, but the main page of Money shows this same report WITH the account I don't want factored in.     - Error updating My Etrade account is stuck saying "update in progress". When I try to force a manual update, I get the error message, "You cannot perform this operation right now, please complete the current task and try again." I have tried to repair my money file but I get another error message that says it can't read the file. I have also deleted the Etrade account and tried again, but get the same error message.     - Why do Closed accounts still try to update? (Money05) I had 4 Netbank accounts all under the same logon ID. I have closed 2 of the accounts but for some reason. MS Money keeps looking for them and gives erros everytime I connect. When I say I closed them, I mean, I closed them at the institution and then I closed them in MSMoney. But whenever I do an online update I get the following error: "Microsoft Money could not update your account because your bank or brokerage does not have a record of it. The account may be closed or the account number may have changed. Learn More." Duh... That's exactly what happened, the account is closed... so how come Money keeps trying to update it. I've tried everyway I can think of to disassociate this account with the Online Setup (short of stopping and resetting up online services, which I can't beleive is the real answer).     - Reversing an automatically balanced account I ran into a problem in recent weeks. I import my transactions from CITI and US BANK and they come in as reconciled and Money shows that the account was most recently balanced at the time of the import. This started happening after having to reload Money Deluxe 2005. This is rather annoying since I balance all my accounts off of paper statements just as a sanity check. The "Automatically mark accepted transactions as reconciled" option in the online services setup menu is unchecked. I need 2 things done: 1. Stop Money 2005 from automatically balancing the account upon import of financial data. 2. Reverse the balanced account so I can go back and balance the account manually against a paper statement. In trying to get direct access to a new bank, MS Money asked me for my
hotmail account information. Afterwards, whenever I start MS Money, it
has to sign into my Hotmail account. If never did give me access to
my new bank.

Now, it won't even let me access my old banks. On all three
accounts (an AmEx card, a bank and a Visa card), when I press Update I
am told that my last call encountered an error. "Your account
information is being updated, which may take a few minutes. If this
messages appears for more than fine minutes, Try again."

Since all the banks are reporting the same error, it's a MS Money
bug. Since in 5 years I never saw this message until 2 weeks after
that Hotmail crap, I suspect it's related to the hotmail account
setup.

How do I remove that hotmail signin, and go back to the old way where
MS Money accessed my bank's information without a hotmail signin?

Unfounded or not, the fact remains that I cannot download transactions
from my bank this week, I cannot pay bills today, and I cannot disable
the Hotmail account access.

When I go to
Tools-> Settings->"Access your Money data on the Web"
and try to choose to "Remove my financial data from the MSN Money
servers", I'm told "To make this change, you must sign into Money
while you are online"

I'm obviously online, you this post would not be posted.

I can't get into the Hotmail MSN money site, and I cannot remove the
hotmail option until I can get into the Hotmail MSN money site. I
cannot pay my bills.

Any suggestions on how to disable that MSN Hotmail stuff so I can pay
my bills online the way I used to pay them?

Since MS can deliver pop-up upgrade warnings to Money and because I assume
upgrading the MSN Money site involves some advance planning, delivering a
warning about planned maintenance probably would have been better received
than simply cutting people off. Users who desired could make sure they did
an update shortly before the update start, and would not be baffled by not
being able to connect.
