Money estimates the amount of time it will take for the payment to reach
the recipient. Money notifies the bank that you want to make an electronic
payment. This is immediate. The bank then does their voodoo to generate
the payment. If the recipient takes electronic payments, it goes over the
wire. If not, the bank prints a check and mails it. Some banks probably
use a third party for this step, adding more lead time.
If Money wants lead time for the payment, the bank is sending a paper
check.
