Rajat - I am now learning it the hard way. Did not realize it was such
an issue till I started reading some of these user groups. A hard
knock but a lesson learned too.

Rajat - When I run the salv.exe at level 2 I get the message " Utility
could not repair the file. Repair a different version, restore a back
up or re-install Money. Make sure your file is not saved as read-only
(0x800a1462)"
I used salv.exe downloaded from the web and also the one with Money
2004 (by first creating a new data file) and get the same mssg. Have
re-installed money twice and the file is not saved as a read-only. I
guess this means that the file is beyond hopeless ?

Rajat - 3rd party. www.officerecovery.com

Rajat - The last time it worked fine was on sat 2/24 morning. when I
tried to login later in the evening. I got the message -
"Money has detected that you did not close the My Money file before
exiting. Money needs to verify the information in the file. This may
take a few
minutes."
When I press yes i get the message "the password is
incorrect. please try again"
When I tried restoring from the back-up file i got the error message
that money cannot locate the file or its a read-
only file or the disk drive is write protected.
