ADR stock prices
All of a sudden all my stocks that are ADRs and have 5 letter stock
symbols ending in the letter "Y" have stopped updating. The last stock
price downloaded is for 3/7.

mouse scroll doesn't work in register
This is a follow up to an old thread.
There has been reports of mice scroll wheels not working with the
register in Microsoft Money
My setup:
Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000
Intellipoint 6.2
Money 2007
In the register - if the scroll wheel is moved slowly, nothing happens.
If the scroll wheel is moved fast, there is some slight movement. In
reports, if the wheel is moved slowly nothing happens. If moved fast,
then there is significant scrolling.
I tried turning on and off scroll acceleration in Intellipoint. It made
no difference.
In the same computer I switched to a MS Wireless Optical Mouse - same
problem. On the other hand I hooked up a wired Dell mouse - scroll wheel
works like a charm.
It does appear that this is some strange interaction between the MS mice
and Money. Goes to show that the two divisions of MS are practically
independent.

I have Money 2006 Small Business Editon. When I sign in with my email &
password, I get the following error message:
We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal error and will
have to restart.

Setup was unable to install some of the components needed to run
I have Win XP Home and cannot get Money 2008 to install. Error
message is "Setup was unable to install some of the components needed
to run Money"
Have tried reinstalling Windows Installer with no luck.
Would like to try resetting security settings in the registry but
cannot find anyway to do that for XP Home...only XP Pro is coming up.
Perhaps none of this works and someone has a better way to get Money
to install on XP Home?

Upgrade will not complete
Anyone know how to spur the program to finish upgrading? Or to stop it? I
cannot use the Reports feature because I get a message saying it's not
available until the upgrade that is downloading in the background is

Money 2001 & 2007 on same computer?
Folks,
Would it be a problem to have both Money 2001 and 2007 installed on the
same computer?
I use Money 2001 for my personal finances. I just got the job of finance
secretary at my church where the treasurer uses Money 2007. I bought Money
2007 so he and I could pass files back and forth. However, I don't want to
move my own finances to Money 2007 because Money 2001 gives me a good view
of my stock portfolio. The newer versions have more and more clutter on
the screen to where I see more clutter than portfolio.
I could install Money 2007 on a different computer, but it would be more
convenient to put it on my main computer where I use Money 2001. I'd put
it in a different directory, of course. Does anyone have experience with
this? Is it going to give me problems?

Money 2007 and Vista user account control
I have noticed a nasty behavior when running Money 2007 on Vista ultimate.
If uer acount control is turned on Money opens the file in program files
then writes all its changes to the vitural store. When I close Money and
open it again the file that is opened is the old file from program files not
the file that contains the changes made last time. Is there another way to
fix this behavior other than turning UAC off?

Upgrad
I upgraded to Money Plus from Money 2002, when trying to open my old money
file, Money Plus hangs up during "converting file".
When doing ctrl, alt dele it shows the money process at 78,028.
Any ideas on how to get it to open my old file?
It deleted 2002 when installing and I don't have the download file for 2002

can't download active statement in Vista money2005
When I click the download button on the bank website. After a while the
download window appears. The open or save button never turns clickable.

Money 2008 Plus Premium Upgrade Rebate?
I have used Microsoft Money since it first came out and have usually had an
opportunity to get an upgrade rebate when I purchased a newer version. The
rebate form/coupon was in the retail box. This time around I bought the
Money 2008 Plus Premium retail package from Newegg to upgrade from Money

Money Essentials
In an earlier post a user expressed his dissatisfaction with his Money
Essentials (2008) download. The response from MVP was to return it(?) . .
for a refund.
I would like to concur (with the original post) and add how bad the product
comparison page is, saying nothing about how stripped down the product is.
And to ask, if someone knows, how does one "return" a non-physical software
download? MS must have SOME mechanism for refund, yes? I've been unsuccesful

Financial Events Modeler
The Planning Session of MSMoney 2007 has a Financial Events Modeler which could
be useful, but I found it quite misleading.
One of the scenarios is "What if I pay off my mortgage at the end of this
year". Wow! I would have almost six times as much money at the end of my
plan. But when I looked more closely at the graph, it seemed as if the Modeler
assumes the funds required to pay off my mortgage come from the good fairy, and
not out of my current funds.
I don't mind having unsophisticated tools available, but when the tools are
misleading, that's dangerous in financial software.
But maybe I'm missing something?

Downloading transactions from Fidelity
I'm downloading transactions from Fidelity into M2007, and finding
that many transactions just don't show up in the download. Money
Market purchases rarely show up (although sometimes they do), and
today a bunch of mutual fund dividends were missing.
I've told Money to save the intermediary files, and I can see that the
request file has a date range of yesterday to today, and that the
transactions are missing from the response file.
Fidelity claims that it's not their fault because the download is
being done by a screen scraper (i.e. Yodlee) and it must be a bug
there.
I thought that direct online updates did not use Yodlee, but got the
OFX file directly from the financial institution.
Anyone with any knowledge or experience about this?

No good turn goes un-punished
I thought I was being clever by regularly backing up my .mny file so
that in the event of a drive failure or something equally as
catastrophic, I wouldn't loose my ten years of Money files.
So, when the inevitable finally happened, I was pretty calm. I had the
original software - in fact I had been using MS Money since 99 and was
up to 2004 all boxed and stored safely for this moment. I bought a new
hard drive, re-installed Vista and was just installing the Money 2004
when the CD reported an error. I tried it in another machine and even
took it to work and tried, no luck the CD was definitely corrupt.
Somewhat annoyed I decided that an upgrade was probably the best way
out only to find out that 2004 was the last UK version of Money and I
would have to buy another copy of software I already owned....From
there it just went completely down hill. Microsoft Money 2004 UK (the
one with the =A3 signs on the box) cannot be sourced from anywhere, all
vendors list it as discontinued. I tried every conceivable search on
Google to see if it came up but apart from a few bogus looking sites
promising I could download it for a small fee (which naturally I
skipped when my virus protection warned my about the site) it simply
isn't available anywhere.
OK, now I was getting desperate. I decided to dump my windows Vista
and used the software restore disk that came with my PC to roll back
to XP (this was bundled with Money 2003 and the only way to access it
was to re-image the drive). At least this way I could still access the
file. No way..."incompatible version" was the reply. I was starting to
get really ticked off by now. In desperation I decided to buy Money
2005 - US version and hope it could at least upgrade. I read
somewhere that you could fiddle with the system settings and trick it
to load a UK file. I could live with dollar signs so =A335 later I had
2005 installed and it seemed to be going OK. It asked for a password,
said it would upgrade the older file, lots of progress bars and
finally the "incompatible version" message... aarghhh!!!
Wondering what I must have done wrong in a previous life I suddenly
stumbled across the actual version I needed on Ebay - Microsoft Money
2004 UK - with the =A3 signs on the front - Hurray!!!!. My euphoria was
short lived, it sold 57 minutes ago.... I must have been a mass murderer
- surely. So, in what was a final desperate attempt to salvage the
last ten years of my life financially, I emailed the highest bidder
and offered to pay the full price plus the postage just for a copy of
his CD. I had the licence number on my own box, I really only wanted
just the actual software. He hasn't been in touch for the last five
days....!
Anyway, before I throw my self out of the window, I just thought I'd
try one of the user groups to see if anybody can help me on this.
Has anybody got a copy of MS money 2004 UK that I could copy (please).
I'll pay the postage or provide an area to let you upload to and pay
what ever you want via PayPal for you trouble. I'll even provide a
free valuable tip about backing up your software as well as your

Is there a way to manually bulk update investment prices?
Money Plus cannot find an investment I want to track so I was manually
but this becomes tidious.
I was hoping for a way to edit the historial prices manaully as I could
write a script to do this.

Running MS Money Plus deluxe as non-admin
I have installed MS Money Plus Deluxe on Vista OS. Have registered when
logged in as an admin, but it keeps asking me to register when ever I start
it as a user. The registration always fails. Now error message indicates
there are no available licenses.

How do I manually zero a Bank Balance?
I last performed an online download for one of my credit card accounts in FEB
08. In MAR 08, I paid the entire balance and closed the account. The bank cut
off my online access when the account was closed, so I am unable to perform
another online download which would reflect payment in full and zero the
balance. As far as I can tell, I am stuck with an incorrect nonzero Bank
Balance for this card forever. Short of deleting the account, is there a way

Money? We made the switch from Money to Quicken for Mac a couple years ago
when we bought our first Mac, and now that we have a Mac that will run
Parallels efficiently we're ready to switch back to using Money - we've been
very disappointed with the Mac version of Quicken. Money seems to provide the
functionality to convert a Quicken for Windows export file (.qdf) but not the
Quicken for Mac export file (.qdfm). I've searched the web for some ideas on
how to accomplish this, but everything I've found relates to switching in the

Missing Transactions
I have been using Money Deluxe and Automatic Updates for my WaMu
checking account for a few months now. Looking at my account, I am
missing about a four day period. There are no transactions there at
all. I ran the quick repair on the file and deleted my temporary
internet files with no luck.

Cash Balances recalculating in Deluxe online portfolio
I have an annoying problem with MSN Money online deluxe portfolio. I
use it to track all my ISA and broker accounts and whenever I receive
interest on a cash balance or a debit charge on one of those accounts
I go into portfolio Manager and adjust the cash balance. When I edit
the Current Balance in nthe Account settings the figure re-calculates
as if the value is being translated into a different currency.
e.g Current Balance shows: £4108.15; I edit this because of new cash
to a value of £5000 but the value then re-calculates automatically to
show £6,728.84.
My settings are set to GBP currency both at Acount level and within
portfolio settings.
Be gald if anyone can help with the problem.

Bank statement will not download into Money Plus Deluxe
Since September of 2007, I have not been able to download statements directly
from one of my banks. I have tried the following solutions per Microsoft
support and still problem persists:
Method 1: Repair the Money file
Method 2: Empty the Temporary Internet Files folder
Method 3: Show Standardized Payee names
Method 4: Delete the old statement and download a new copy of the statement
Method 5: Verify the Microsoft Internet Explorer settings
Method 7: Use standardized payee names
Method 8: Remove and then reinstall Money
When I am at the bank site, I click on OFX statement download and when I hit
submit an Internet Explorer File Download box appears and it looks to be
downloading a file indefinitely. Nothing happens and the file download box
never disappears. Any ideas?

Cash Transactions on Investment account
Hello,
I have an investment account, and I hate that Money Plus shows the overall
"Account Value" as some small value. That is because the "Cash Transactions"
counts against the overall value. So what is really worth $10,000 is shows
the account value as $1,000 because the cash transactions are ($9,000).
I see that under Account Settings I can remove the ability to track cash
transactions.
Since I am somewhat new to MS Money, will I regret not tracking cash
transactions? I see that going this way will result in my inability to
download transactions, but I guess I am willing to live with this? I mean,
if my account is worth $10,000 I want it to show $10,000
Can anyone give me some advice?
