Hi all,

I am trying to convert my MS Money file from MS Money (v14) Financial Suite
OEM to Money 2007.

When I try and convert it says it can't be done since it was created in a
different version of Money.

Is there any supported upgrade path for this? Also does Money 2007 work in
Vista?

thanks

Money is heavily regionalised so you must stick within region when
upgrading. US > US is OK but UK > US is not. The error indicates you may be
trying to upgrade across regions.

Re VISTA, some people have reported problems others have had no trouble.
Apparently a patch to M2007 is need to guarantee that it will work with
VISTA. This is supposed to be available before the consumer release of
VISTA.

You can run M2005 (v14) under Vista AFAIK.

I have a similar problem. I purchased the Microsoft Money Essentials
when my (USA model) Microsoft Money 2006 stopped downloading financial
information. But the new version says it can't read my old files.
That's totally ridiculous. It would take hours to re-enter all that
financial information.

Do I need to pay the extra $10 to upgrade to the Full version of
Microsoft Money 2007 or is there some other solution?

MEss is a real cut down version aimed at absolute beginners and you really
need to move upscale.

They haven't exactly hidden this. In less than three clicks from
http://www.microsoft.com/Money I find this:

I am currently using a previous version of Money. Can I install the
trial?

Yes. By default, Money Essentials Trial will install into a different folder
than your current version of Money. However, because Money Essentials is
designed for new users, you cannot open a previous Money file and will need
to create a new file in Money Essentials.
