Trouble importing Quicken 2004 data
I have used Money for years and am very used to it. I got
married this year and my new wife is used to using
Quicken so I have all this year's data in Quicken 2004. I
thought I would see if I could transfer data back into
Money, as there are various aspects of Quicken that I
don't like - having got used to Money's way of doing it
and which I prefer. I downloaded the trial version of
Money 2004 Deluxe and when I import data, I get all the
accounts imported, but the entries are empty. Has anyone
any suggestions as to what I am either doing wrong or I
can do to correct this problem?

Call Progress - Freezes
Recently I cloned my boot drive and replaced it. All of
my apps are working great except for MS Money. Now,
whenever I choose to do an Internet Update, I get a
blank "Call Progress Dialog" - It used to say things
like "Updating Service Providers", "Downloading
Statements", etc... but now it never gets to that point,
and the dialog remains empty and frozen.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSMoney 2004 to
no avail. Does anybody have a suggestion? I'd hate to
reinstall Windows...

I have problems
I am running Money 2003. Under my 401k account, I
updated the prices of my securities, but for some reason,
the software wants to include how much cash I have
invested as well, which skews how much I actually have in
the account upward.

Canadian Banks not listed!
I just bought Money 2004 'CANADIAN' edition. There are
no Canadian Banks listed. I tried following the advice
for regional settings and to switch to US and back. None
worked.
I have searched this newsgroup and have found a number of
similar problems posted.
I think MS should step up to the plate and tell us if
this is a known problem, they are working on it, and wait

How do I adjust my balance to the payoff amount? Then
how do I close this Account?

Hi, I just got Money Deluxe and am playing with it. One
of the primary purposes for my purchase was to do a loan
amortization report - but when I click on that under
reports, I don't get any of the options to create one,
etc. Are other people having this problem? Do I have to
set something up first to be able to use the report?

Money 2004 - Edit drop down lists
I'm having difficulty structuring my question so it's
understood. Here's another attempt:
The "transaction form" requires among other things an
investment entry. I would like to delete names in this
investment drop down list. There are extraneous names I
have inserted which are unwanted. The names to be
deleted do not appear in any account details. How do I

Hello i just purchased Money 2004 here in Mexico; i know that is not a
spanish version, but i don't care.
Anyway all the internet services (MSN hompage) are from Australia, I don't
know if this can be changed.
Also i can see just a few banks (from latinoamerica), i use the internet
update function, but i still see the same list of banks; is there a way to

This is with respect to 401K Entries. How do I put in transfers. I had X and
Y Portfolios and I transfered 40% from X and 100% from Y to Z Portfolio. And
now I have only X and Z portfolio. How do I show this in Money?

Passport stopped working for 2003
Similar problem to recent Thread "Passport logon Fails"
Previously working system now gets the following dialogs on Logon
"Money cannot connect to the .Net Passport servers"
Then "The sign-in attempt for <my logon> was unsuccessful"
A manual logon to Passport still works just fine.
I have tried removing and reinstalling Money and also the
re-registration of msxml3.dll with no success.
I know it is not a network problem because the copy of Money on my
laptop works just fine.
I am stuck!!
Any ideas?

Can't start Money: Error on file "mnyob99.dll"
My OS is WinXP Home Ed. I just bought Money 2004
Standard. After installation, I tried to start the
application but an error occured and shut it down.
Error Msg:

Money 2003 investment accounts subtotal
I have 4 investment accounts setup. 3 of them will not
show a roll-up for all the investments in those account,
and as you'd expect, the Investment Accounts Subtotal
(accounts list view) does not include any ammounts from
those 3 accounts. The subtotal for all accounts therefor
equals that of the only 1 account that is summing up its
data correctly.
I have looked all over and can find no info about such a
problem. Any ideas?

Registering Trial Version
I'm having trouble registering Money 2004. My HD crashed
and I had to redownload the trial version. When I start
it to enter my registration information, it tells me the
trial has expired and then shuts down and doesn't give me
the opportunity enter the activation number that was
emailed to me after purchasing the upgrade.

Missing transactions?
In my Account List view, I see that there
are "Transactions to read: 13" for my checking account.
However, when I go to my checking account, there are no
unread transactions! Note that I do have "View: All
Transactions covering All Dates" selected as the view, so
I would expect to see all of the transactions.
I've been using MS Money for years, and this is the first
time this problem has come up. Does anyone have any
suggestions on how to resolve this?

Money 2004 unable to sign-on passport
For the past 6 or 7 days, I've been unable to logon to my passport through
the msmoney signon screen. I get a message stating that the user-id or
password is invalid. But I know that they are correct. I can still work -
just can't download my transactions from moneycentral because I can't
sign-on with my passport.
I am not having any problems using my passport id/password for MSNMessenger
as well as moneycentral.msn.com. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone

Transmission died while making electronic payment
BlankI created an electronic payment and submitted it, but my bank's
computer never acknowledged it. After 10" elapsed without anything
happening, I disconnected from my dial-up ISP hoping that Money 2004 would
timeout, but it didn't. Now, Money refuses to process any further
electronic payments or even an e-mail (using Money) to my bank because Money
is still waiting for an acknowledgement on a transaction that it thinks is
still in process. I deleted the transaction hoping that would take care of
it, but it did not. I'll confirm with my bank tomorrow that no transmission
was received, but assuming no transmission was received by the bank, how can
I nudge Money to forget about it and move on? Alternatively, what if my
bank informs me that they did receive a transmission and now I've deleted

HRESULT=0x800700c1 in MSMoney 2001
Please help. Money will give me an error a various
points, including when I create a new file. The error
code is HRESULT=0x800700c1 and money tells me to contact
Microsoft Technical Support. I have tried to contact tech
support but it refuses to recognize my Product ID (serial
number).
I have tried running the repair function within MSMoney
and have downloaded the salvage utility but neither could
find anything wrong with my files.
Please help me fix my data files, or figure out a way to
get support from Microsoft without paying $35. Thanks.

Operation cannot be performed error in Money 2004
I am using Money 2004 Deluxe and when I start money at the passport screen
after clicking next, I get a message that says that the operation cannot be

I recenlty purchased a new machine (with XP Home), and
would like to install my Money 99 program. The program
seems to install properly, but at startup, crashes out.
The error log notes a faulting "jvm.dll" application.

I can't view my downloaded transactions
I've been using Money 2002 for a while now, and I have
been able to sync my accounts directly with my Bank
through the internet updates function. Typically if there
is a new transaction it shows up, and I reconcile it. For
the past few days, Money has been downloading transactions
and telling me that I have new transactions to
view/reconcile, but when I go into the specific accounts
the transactions do not show up, although Money is telling
me that I have items to review.
I haven't changed any settings, and this just started
happening out of nowhere.

best way to start over?
I'm trying to help a friend who has Money Business & Personal. She installed
it two years ago, but stopped entering data after a few months and never
really got it going right. She'd like to start fresh for 2004. What's the
best way to do this? Can you open a new file and start from scratch? If you
just archive all the old records, then the balances will all be off. Is
there a way to correct that? It could be useful to be able to keep all the

I have separate required accounts: checking, VISA,
multiple savings (for kids and us parents), business
checking, business cash, business VISA.
How do I set up a cash account that makes any sense
(Money's debits and credits style versus just keeping a
tracking of spending)?
Can the reports track totals spent towards a budget
accross several accounts, and how do I do this?
And, how can I keep the reports separated for the home
versus business expenses?

Invoice designer doesn's save templates correctly?
Open a Service Portrait template for example in the
Invoice Designer in Money Small Business 2004 and Save As
or make a change and then click Save, and then save the
template using a new name. Then go to your invoices in
Money, select Print Preview >> and select the original
template. The invoice will preview and print nicely on a
page. Now do the same again but select the duplicate
template you saved. The page previews (and prints) using
only a small width percentage of the page. Almost like a
portrait page on a lanscape paper if that makes sense. I
have tried everything to just save my own template to no
avail.

Money 2004 Premium from Money 2003 Deluxe
I have been running 2003 Deluxe on ME. Installed 2004 on new laptop running
XP Home. I have successfully converted data. Problem is on XP when I click
the "Go to list of accounts" link on Home Page I get an error. When I
upgraded 2003 Deluxe on existing ME platform I have no problems. Sample
file on XP does not experience the same problem.
I have several loans on account and don't want to export/import - retype
loans into 2004 P on XP.

Separating accounts
I have 2 accounts in money, my personal and my condo
association. Reports are no problem to separate the
accounts but backup to disc copies both accounts. Since
I sometimes have to give a back up disc to someone else,
is there a way to copy just one account as I don't like

Tracking IRA activity in Money 2004
I recently bought Money 2004 and also setup an IRA. I
want to be able to track the activity in this account
wiht Money. The account activity is pretty simple. It
consists of receiving dividends and then reinvesting
those dividends.
Does anyone have a strategy for tracking this with Money
2004? I have the IRA setup as a retirement account.
Should I enter the dividends in the Cash Transactions or
Investment Transactions area?

can't seem to share Money 2003 in XP????
We're currently running Money 2003 on a machine with XP
and have everyone set up with their own ID. How do
we "share" the same Money 2003 file between each other??
I've saved my backup file to the SHARED DOCUMENTS folder
but this doesn't seem to work. Each time a new user ID is
logged onto the system and they try to start MONEY they
get a new file -- not the one I've been using.
Any suggestions as to how to share this single file
between multiple Money users?

when generating reports is fine but when I download to
disc it downloads everything in boh accounts. There are

slowly even though I have archived the first 6 months of my money file?
She starts up great, but I get the rolling hourglass on many of the pages.

Woolwich - multiple downloads
Anyone else constantly downloading the same transactions from the Woolwich?
Even though I've previously dowloaded transactions, it seems that the next
time I download, I get a few of the same transactions. However, they appear
as new ones that then have to be matched manually to existing ones (wearing
