    - Money Won't Upgrade My 2005 File I have been using Money for years and have upgrade to each new version with no major issues. I have installed Money 2006 and when it goes to open my Money 2005 file it has me sign in with my passport and then tells me it needs to upgrade it. It makes a backup of it and then gives me an error that says that it can't locate my file and that it might be write protected or I might not have permissions to change it. Has anyone else seen this?     - Why disable? What does it do? I received this message and I assume it's because Money wants to use Yodlee since I am not connecting directly with my bank (i usually d/l qif's). What, if any, repercussions will I see with disable bill pay and then reactivating it? To set up Money so you can see your data from any computer, you must first disable MSN Bill Pay in Money. Go to the account list, and then click Manage online services in the left pane. Click MSN Bill Pay, click Stop using MSN Bill Pay in Money, and then follow the instructions on the screen. After you disable MSN Bill Pay, return here to activate the service that allows you to see your data from any computer.     - Need advice: typing credit card charges into splits I use Money 2005. Every month I have to manually type each and every credit card charge into the split category table for the check I use to pay the credit card balance. I use a credit card from U.S. Bank. Is there a way to download these charges directly into the split category table, so I don't have to go through the process of typing each charge individually? I dread this chore every month.     - Money Desktop Ads I received the popup for Money 2006 this evening. I've seen this before in previous versions of money and was not surprised (although I think it's cheap to build ads into applications we pay for). What I was absolutly SHOCKED about was that after I closed Money 2005 I had new icons on my desktop for financial services. I checked the creation date and they were created today. Has anyone else experienced this? This is totally unacceptable! I've seen applications install ad icons on the desktop during install but NEVER have I seen one do it just for using it, unless Money now is classified in the same catagory as Adware/Spyware!     - Confirmation Email for Downloaded Upgrade to Money Premium 2006 I purchased Money Premium 2006 via a popup in my current Money Premium 2005. I have not recieved a confirmation email of my order which I have to have to send in for the $30 rebate. How long should it take to get this confirmation? Also, I tried using the email or chat support and it says my serial number is not recognized and will not let me open a case with Microsoft.     - customize report with multiple months Is there a way to break down expenses by category month by month (more than last 30 days to current)? I want to see the categories and amounts for each month, not a lump sum of the last 6 months. I want a column for 1/1 - 1/31, 2/1 - 2/28, etc. Can this be done?     - Money 2006 Deluxe-Special Offer pop-up Hi Folks, Just upgrade from Money 2005 Premium, everything seems fine except that whenever signing in, I got a pop-up window with wording similar like this "it looks like that you have not setting up properly to accept the special offer, do you want to set up now", then there is the options "yes" and "no". I click "no" to sign in with my passport but then the next time I get the same pop-up window again, not exception. I am just want to use Money to track my account transactions, I don't need any special offer even MS is going to offer me money. So can someone help me with this to get rid of this pop-up window.     - Asset Allocation question I spent time putting in the detailed percentages of holdings (small / mid / large / cash / bonds / other) into all of my mutual funds, then tried to use the Asset Allocation screen to get a more accurate picture of my holdings. Instead of using the more detailed numbers, it puts each fund into one category as a whole!! Making my time spent useless. Example - fund AAAAA - set to 50% large, 25% snall, 25% bonds, Asset Allocator places it in the category it thinks best - 100% assets in LARGE. Am I a) doing something wrong, or b) misunderstanding how this works (i.e. when people talk about asset allocation for mutual funds, this is the correct way to think about and calculate it)?     - Investment Balances In Money Don't Match Bank My investment account balances in money don't match what my investment company says the balances are. I update online, so everything is current. I stumbled on a page in MS Money that showed both the correct balance and the incorrect balance, but now I can't find that page again. I think the problem is some display option in MS Money I don't know about, and need to set so that the proper balance is displayed.     - Removing one account from an online service [MS Money 2005] I have multiple accounts with the same bank and I recently closed one of the accounts. Now whenever I do an online update I get an error saying that the account might be closed (duh, good guess since I checked the Account Closed box). You would think if the Account Closed box was checked that the online banking would stop requesting info but it doesn't. The only instructions that I can find tell me how to stop Online Services for that entire Financial Institution but I only want to stop one account with that institution. Any suggestions?     - Money 2001 wouldn't start up, had to reinstall Recently I had a problem where Money 2001 just wouldn't start up. I tried a number of things, but nothing worked. Finally I just reinstalled Money 2001 to get it running again. Oddly enough, the previous night I had tried out two different programs for manipulation of CSV files - CSVDb and DbEdit. DbEdit associated CSV files to itself. I find a bunch of CSV files in the Money folder, but I of course I never tinkered with any of them.     - Printing Payroll Checks without Service I have an accountant to handle all of my payroll tax issues, and I can calculate withholding, etc. on my own.     - Paycheck direct deposited into 2 accounts I have my paychecks direct deposited into two seperate bank accounts. One account always get a fixed amount from the paycheck (eg. $500) and the remainder is put into the other account. Any suggestions for how to best handle this? I'm using Money 2005 if that makes a difference. I currently have it set up to enter the paycheck into the 'remainder' account and then do a transfer of the fixed amount into the other account. While this gets the account balances correct, the account that gets the fixed amount only shows the deposits as a transfer instead of a paycheck being deposited.     - Money Update in Progress Hello all- Yesterday I purchased the download version of Money 2006 Premium. The download of the webinstall and the initial install went fine and then it told me that some features would not be available until Money finished downloading the rest of the program. The program has been running for about 24 hours now and it still shows "Download 1% complete". This seems to be taking a little longer than it should. I have tried restarting the program, reinstalling the program to kick the download process off again, but it never gets beyond 1%. I made an attempt at using Microsoft's email and/or live chat support services, but even there I seem to run into a dead end. When I enter my Product ID it says, " The product ID number you entered is not valid or is not in the correct format. Please enter a valid product ID number and try again. Make sure the product ID number is of the form: 12345-XXX-7654321-98765." I am entering the product ID correctly and I have checked for any typos. Is anyone else having these issues? I would really like to get the rest of my program and use it, so if there are any tips or tricks or even better, a place where I can just manually download the missing parts of the program and install it myself?     - Money 2006 Deluxe - AutoComplete+ I recently updated from Money 2001. I am trying to figure out how to get Microsoft Money 2006 Deluxe to do the auto complete+. In Money 2001 when ever you started typing a payee it would automaticaly complete what the previous transactionfor that payee contained. Money 2006 seems to fill in every filed, but not the memo field. How do I enable auto complete of the memo field as well? I pulled up the help in Money 2006 and it said this so I think it's capable: About accessibility in Microsoft Money In addition to the accessibility features in Microsoft Windows, the following features make Microsoft Money more accessible for people with disabilities: AutoComplete automatically fills in a payee, category, classification item, or account name you've used before, once you start typing. AutoComplete+ automatically enters the amount, memo, category, classification, and account fields from the last transaction when you enter a payee name you've used before I checked under the settings/options and was uable to come up with an answer. Also, Money 2001 would give you a todays balance on each account as well as an ending balance if you had transactions in your register entred later than the current date.     - Upcoming Bills in Account Register What happened to the Upcoming Bills section that used to be displayed at the bottom of the account register? In 2003 while you were entering transactions, you could quickly glance to the bottom to see if there were any upcoming transactions. This feature does not appear to be available in 2005 Deluxe.     - Account Setup Unavailable error I recently disabled online updates from my bank and am trying to set it back up. I go to Change Account Setings --> Online Setup, and then choose my bank, but after about 5 seconds, I get a message "Account setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."     - Adjusting Dates of Downloaded Transactions I upgraded from Money 2003 Deluxe to 2005 Deluxe. In my old version, when I would download a transaction that matched to a register entry, it would default to the date that the bank had, not the date I entered. I could simply change it to the correct date and accept the transacation. This is not the case in 2005. It doesn't matter whats in the Date field, after I accept it, it changes to the date that came from the bank, which is typically wrong.     - Any Reason to Upgrade from 2003? I am on Money 2003 which I found to be rock-solid. Last year I tried out 2005, but rejected it due to reasons you are all well aware of. I know about access being potentially cut-off to me in 6 weeks, but whether or not they will follow through on that remains to be seen. Besides that, is there any other reason to do an upgrade now?     - M06: Automatic Update Bug Fixed? M05 does not update accounts when you started regardless of whether you check the box to "Automatically update accounts when I start Money." Instead, it would usually update every day but at seemingly random times. Because of this bug, I am now simply clicking "update now" every day. So much for automatic updates.     - Imported transactions not appearing I'm trying to automatically import my transactions from my bank account, but the details are not coming through. My bank is the Commonwealth Bank in Australia. They have recently updated their site, so I suspect that may be the problem, but I'm not 100% convinced. I can only export transactions as an OFC file from my Bank's website. I'm using MT2OFX to convert this to an OFX file. This worked last time I did it, a few months ago. When I import the transactions to MS Money 2005, I only see 3 of the 30 transactions. Has anyone else experienced this? Any work arounds?     - M06 and MSN Synchronize I've just upgraded to M06 trial from M04. M04 used to ask me to synchronize with MSN money upon close.     - Dell Financial I have a dell financial credit card. Well it is not a credit card because I can only use it at dell. It is a dell prefered card. The problem I have is that it does not display on pocket pc version because it is not considered a credit card. I have it right now set under loan and liabilities. Is there something I am doing wrong? Should I set up a dell prefered card as something else, maybe there is a way to trick money into telling it that it is a credit card. Also because it is not a credit card it does not show up as one. There for when it shows my credit card balances and ow much I owe on the credit cards it does not show up because it is under another category. Any help is appreciated.     - Holding Different Currencies in Same Account.. I'm using the Canadian version of Money 2004. I was wondering if its possible to hold two different currencies in the same brokerage account (ie: US dollars and Canadian dollars). Money is set up now to show all my cash holdings in my brokerage account in Canadian dollars. As soon as I try to tranfer US dollars to my account money converts it to Canadian and combines it with any of the Canadian dollars I'm holding. I would like to be able to tranfer US funds to this same brokerage account and have them remain separate from the Canadian cash and show me with two cash holdings. As transactions are automatically found and downloaded, they are automatically entered into the acounts in the account register without allowing me to look it over and ensure the right spending category is recorded - - - in MONEY 2004 you were required to 'accept' the downloaded transaction where you could assign a spending category.     - 529 Plan I have one 529 plan, which can be shared by multiple children (I do this reduce custodial fees). I would like the lifetime planner to allow me to point to one 529 account for two children, instead of each child needing their own.     - Losing online setup I have had Money 2006 lose the online setup for a credit union and a credit card. I then have to go back and try and setup the online services again. When Money finds my accounts, it adds them as duplicates of the existing accounts that still exist.     - Deferred Comp Account in Lifetime Planner? I am having trouble figuring out how to put a deferred comp retirement account in Lifetime Planner. The def comp account takes pretax money out of my salary and is matched by my employer. It is a retirement account, but it is different from most in that it must be distributed at retirement. In this case in two annual installments. I beilve that LP assumes that retirement accounts are distributed last only after all taxable accounts are consumed. (unless age 70.5 comes first).     - Money downloads bank information from MSN Billpay Wondering if I'm just doing something stupid. I use MSN Billpay and had used Microsoft Money. Long story but I dropped using Money last year because I had a ton of online data issues I couldn't fix. I kept using the web interface for Billpay. Anyway, I gave Money 2006 a whirl. It recognized that my passport had stuff on the MSN Money site linked to it. It downloaded the payment bank information from MSN Billpay into Money as a bank. But it thinks the financial institution is MSN Billpay, not my bank. So, now I can't set it up to download the actual statements. Anyone know if I'm missing something basic here? I can't figure out how to reallocate yearly expenses on a monthly basis. For example, I have Computer:Supplies in my budget for 80.00 per year (ink, etc.). So the budget shows 7.00 per month. However, when I purchased ink for 17.00 this month, I am over budget by 10.00. I can reallocate next month's amount for 7.00, but I am still 3.00 short. I have designed a software application for recipes that has an interface similar to Money 2004+, in the following ways: 1. UI Layout is the same (ie, Menubar, toolbar, taskpad, main panel, help pane, etc) 2. A tabbed toolbar like Money 2005 is also included 3. Color scheme for the menubar is similar to Money 2004 4. The task-based homepage is the same as in Money 2004, and uses the same color scheme, style and layout. The html and css files of Money were used as a starting/learning point. I would also like to point out, that: 1. All controls (including menubar, toolbar, taskpad, etc) have been developed from the ground up by myself 2. All icons in the program have been designed to be unique for the product. So my question (actually 2) is: 1. Is everything legal and am I allowed to develop such a product? 2. IN the File menu "LOGIN LOCKBOX" when I click it say "PASSPORT SIGN in is
enabled for;" but no email or password written there

In the change passport there are 3 options: Change details, Switch
different passport and disable passport features. I tried all the 3 but
nothing is working.

I am uanable to change my file password because Passport is enabled but in
actual no email/passport associated.
