    - Ameritrade Account Online update issues Microsoft Money 2005 Premium Edition I have four different accounts with Ameritrade, most of the time they do NOT update at all, once in a while one of the accounts might update (different one every time) but the update would be three days behind the current date. Like today, Nov. 2 one account updated to Oct. 30th, the other three had 'update unsuccessful' . This has been a problem for about two months now, Ameritrade confirmed a problem with their server at that time and told me that they were 'working with Microsoft' to fix the problem. It appears just by working with Microsoft they also imbibed M$ philosophy of indifference to public complaints, therefore, nothing has been accomplished in the last two months from the customer point of view.     - How to avoid automatic additions to payee list based on credit card transactions Microsoft Money 2005 Premium Edition If I download/update my CitiCard (MasterCard) statement online, every entity that I made a credit card payment to gets added to my Payee list. How do I stop this, since a lot of these entities may never again receive any payment from me so I do not want their names to clutter my Payee list ? Thanks in advance for any help. I did not use ANY of the online features nor did I have a .NET Passport. I just purchased Money 2005. I took my existing .mny file and converted it for use in Money 2005. I tried to get the online services part working, but if you look at my previous posts, I have run into some really big problems with it. Anyway, as part of this upgrade I created a .NET Passport. Then I read that this puts account information and transaction detail online with MSN. I DO NOT WANT THIS! How do I go about deleting this information.     - Money 2005 - Is there a way to avoid creating duplicate categories I have used Money 2003 for 2 years now. I did not use ANY of the online features nor did I have a .NET Passport. I just purchased Money 2005. I took my existing .mny file and converted it for use in Money 2005. I enabled my checking account (from US Bank) to use online services. NOT ONLY did 2005 create a brand new duplicate account with my recent activity in it (see my other posting), BUT it also duplicated most of my existing budget categories too. For example, I had an existing category called "Day Care". Now I have two of them: "Day Care" and "Day Care-#1". Is there a way to resolve this, or work around it? Has anyone else seen this problem? The "merge" page displays BUT no accounts are listed. Instead it says that "No accounts have been seletected to be merged" (something like that). 2 questions: 1. Is there a way I can stop Money 2005 from creating the duplicate accounts, in view of the fact that I have NOT used online services at all in the past? 2.     - Not matching transactions I have it set to not automatically do anything. I've tried resetting the account quite a few times with the help of technicians, but it's too long and involved, and I'm tired of rebalancing the account every time. I have 3 accounts, 1 works without passport and does fine. One of the others I can manually download from the web site, and have no problems doing it like so and decided this is the best way, prior tries it wouldn't work with passport. But the other still insists they are new transactions, and I can't download from their site directly. They only allow Quicken users. Purchased 2005 because I thought I could get this bank to work with Money. And it does if I start a brand new file. But this is way too much work with importing etc. Also I can't reset the online web site. Never seems to work for me, or something... firewall etc is blocking it from working. Can't delete files online manually, cause it deletes them from my Money computer file without asking. So closing and reopening accounts causes too many problems. Did someone find a short cut to avoid having to close and reopen, and merge the accounts? As this hasn't worked after 3 tries. And I don't want to create a new file. Help appreciated.     - account adjustments How do I get rid of adjustment balances? When I upgraded from 04 to 05 my online bank balances are correct but my adjusted balances are wrong. I would like to get rid of these adjustment balances and just use my bank balances, which are correct. Any ideas?     - Money Doubles up My downloaded transactions Whenever money downloads my bank statements automatically, I always end up with duplicate transactions. I have money set up to not automatically accept transactions, but that doesn't seem to stop it. I spend at least 20 minutes a weekend sorting through the download duplicates to try and get my money balance to match my online bank balance. It is quite annoying.     - newbee ?: Money 2004 associate a budget to a specific account my girlfriend and I have a joint account. Each month we put money in it to pay bills, get groceries, etc. I would like to establish a budget that will be associated with this account. For example, if for some reason there is less money in the account then usual, I would like to see the budget overview reflect these scenarios. I forced my through the budget wizard and created a new group and specifed an income to mimic the amount that we transfer into the joint account, but I'm not happy with this.     - Restore a backup I by mistake cut and pasted the backfile from one one workspace to another folder on the same computer. Now when I try to restore that back up file, prompts me with 'please insert next backup disk. The file containing "" " I know I do not backup my file on multiple drives.     - Transfers out of budget accounts I know this is a popular theme here in this newsgroup but i'll throw it out there anyways... My issue is in the budget. I was able to get it to count all of my transfers under a special "Transfers to Know for Budget" category. I have placed all my savings goals and etc here that were not being captured by the "Transfers out of budget accounts" line item in my budget. The actual probelm is that when I view the annual/monthly budget in reports view it counts my stock/mutual fund purchases under this "transfers out of budget accounts" category.     - Money 2005 - A Management Problem do It is just amazing how a major corporate entity like MSFT could allow the issuance of a package with so many bugs and issues. Where are the checks and balances, the management scrutiny? Is top management taking responsibility for this? I would assume that if users were allowed to charge back to Microsoft their time that was wasted working through these issues (and eventually returning the software), MSFT might take note - and maybe try to it right the first.     - Money 2005 As A Gift:? AreThere "Significant" Problems With ? Hello: Am thinking of buying a present of Money 2005, standard ed. for a person who is already using Money 2002. He tell me though, that the reviews of the 2005 ed. have been really bad, and he's not sure if he wants the 2005 edition, or if he should consider Quicken instead. He is very happy with his 2002 Money, however. Might someone please comment and offer their opinions on the 2005 Money vs the 2005 Quicken ? Anything really to be concerned about, or does both Money 2005 and Quicken both have their own quirks and problems, more or less to about the same degree ?     - Problem restoring file to Money 2005 I was running an old version of Money. I think it was 99 -My computer crashed recently. My files were backed up. I upgraded to Money 2005 Standard and intended to restore the back up file from 99. However, 2005 keeps telling me it cannot read the mbf file, that the drive may be locked, which it isn't. I have tried moving the file to my hard drive. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Or, any idea how I can get the data out of the .mbf file so I can at least have a hard copy of it. Thanks.     - help balancing account I'm misunderstanding something fundamental about balancing accounts in MS Money 2004. To get started I downloaded several ofx files from my bank and imported them. I marked all the transactions as reconciled and tried to balance the account. My statements show a starting and ending date and a beginning and ending balance. I have tried entering a statement starting date for "Statement date:" and the starting and ending balance from that statment. The result I get is: "Money has calculeated a different starting balance than the one you entered." Why is it asking me for two dates and one balance? I have just installed it, and went to Fidelity Investments to download all the transactions for the current year -- I found that the balance after downloading all of the transactions is 6 to 7 times greater than the actual amount.     - Importing unit trust prices into Money I have just updated my portfolio and there are several old investments that I have now added. I would now like to update the historical prices of unit trusts whose prices i cannot download online since they are not listed. Is there any way of doing this besides manually entering the value of each for each and every month (yes, i would like to track it on a monthly basis to track trends). I was thinking if there is a way of perhaps creating a .qif or text file with the dates and monthly prices, and have it imported into money.     - Budget Problem in 2005 I downloaded the trial version of 2005 since I liked the feature where budgets could be tracked to one account, in this case, my checking account. Nice fix! Only problem is some budgeted amounts, specifically my paycheck, are doubled, and others are "0". Tried for 2 hours yesterday and can't seem to get the budgeted amounts correct.     - Entering a one time transaction (not a revolving one) i need to enter receipts such as tolls, gas, etc. all i have is reacurring and i do not want that. i have even setup a cash account so that i can charge to that account instead of my bank, but that really does not help me when i am unable to enter transactions that i have to pay out all the time. this is driving me crazy. i have a stack of receipts i need to get entered, and cannot do it. Anyone familiar with the return process with Microsoft?     - Payee Name from Online Banking Hi, I've just started using Money 2005 to download statements from my Bank of America accounts. When I first set this up the transactions were downloaded with no details in the Payee Name field, apart from ATM transactions. Having changed the settings I've managed to get some information downladed to the Payee field, but all I get is "PURCHASE 123456789...", and not the followng line from my transaction which includes the actual name of the payee. I'm really hoping I'm doing something wrong here and I can download this crucial information, can anyone offer any help on how to get this set up correctly?     - Account Update downloads same transactions over and over When downloading account updates using "Automatic Updates" that use Yodlee all my transactions are re-downloaded each time. All the suggestions that MS Support have given me have not worked. I am hoping that someone else is having this problem or has fixed it and how. Here is what is going on: Yesterday I updated my accounts and 20 transactions were downloaded. Money matched them and I accepted them. Today I updated my accounts and 26 transactions were downloaded... Money matched them... however, only 6 of them were new ones... the other 20 are the ones that were downloaded yesterday and were already matched and accepted. Now, Money has matched these 20 transactions to the original already matched 20 transactions and is asking me to re-accept them. This is happening with all accounts. So far: I have created a new Passport... this didn't fix it I have ran file repair... this didn't fix it I have created a brand new Money file using a brand new Passport, and this didn't fix it. All,

I'm evaluating Money 2005 and like some of the new features. I've set it up
so that I can access my accounts on MSN Money, however, not all accounts are
showing up online. Specifically my cash accounts cannot be seen.

Has anybody else seen this? Is that a limitation of the evaluation version?
