I recently had to sign up with a hotmail account in order to
automatically download from one of my charge cards (my other cards and
checking accounts could download directly from the bank to MS Money).

During the signup process, it told me I could access my accounts from
any computer on the internet.

How do I access my accounts from any computer on the internet? Is
there a web page I can log into and access my accounts?

Money 2007 does not pass transaction data from your Money file to
MoneyCentral as earlier versions would. However some of your info
will come in via MSN. Try
http://moneycentral.msn.com/scripts/webquote.dll?iPage=pmx

To access this data, you'll need to go to the My Accounts section of MSN
Money: http://moneycentral.msn.com/banking/accounts/welcome.asp

when you say:

does this mean that:

1 - if i use a passport account to enable the Yodlee enabled bank
functionality, that I don't have to have ALL of my txn information on
MoneyCentral visible in the My Money section?

and

2 - if I don't want to use that site, then I can let M07 act as a
password manager for these banks, only talking to MSN to pass txn data
through to my computer?

If so, that may be close to what I'm actually looking for, and could be
a reason to associate a passport to my money file after all these
years...

Thanks, John

That is my understanding. If you use Money 2007 for online access,
and the description of a FI at
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx says "third party",
then I expect the information will be "scraped" off of the web site
of the FI by the third party, and that the data will be visible from
MSN Passport/LiveID signon-protected website, and that the
information would be fed into Money also.

Sites that provide their own OFX servers, which includes many credit
cards and brokers, will be accessed directly by Microsoft Money. The
data would not appear on MSN Money unless you specifically set that
up there. While you don't have to have a Passport/LiveID on your
Money file to access those, putting a Passport/LiveID onto your
Money 2007 file will not cause the information from those sites to
appear in MSN Money/MoneyCentral. FIs providing their own OFX
servers tend to be reliable to interface from.

Some FIs that provide OFX services also "charge" for them -- at
least to some customers. In that case, Money would default to
providing the "free" aggregation service download (and hence the
transactions would show on MSN Money). I expect these would use the
term "third party" in at least one
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx description. In one
case I found while looking, in the list I see two "Huntington
National bank" descriptions. As a test in a test file, I see that it
asks for whether I am signed up to use Microsoft Money with the bank
or not.

Transactions that you enter yourself into Microsoft Money 2007 would
not be forwarded out.

You might check back a little later to see if somebody has corrected
any mistakes in my description of how I think it is. :-)

I think that is roughly correct, except that some of "third party"
access that MSN Money and Microsoft Money are thru CashEdge as well
as Yodlee. So it might not be quite the same as Yodlee.

I think it is a nicer arrangement.
