    - Beware MM 2006 if you have multiple accounts I have been a money user for years. I just installed mm 2006 and did an online update. When done, money downloaded all accounts that I have access to at all financial institutions and created MM accounts for them. Of course, it ignored the account that previously existed in mm 2004 for those institutions - don't know why and realy don't even care. Apparently, the logic is that if you have an acount at a financial institution then you must manage it through money. You cannot avoid this - you can only close the accounts you don't want to see and eliminate them every time you do a report. I cannot accept this logic. I have kids in college, business and trust accounts that I manage all the time through my financial institutions. Both banks and brokerage accounts are impacted. These non-personal accounts have no business in my mm ledgers. MM will not allow me to delete or exclude individual accounts but requires me to delete ALL accounts at a financial institution. The effort to exclude them is just not woth the time. So, if you use online access at your financial institution for non-personal reasons, be advised of this restriction.     - Compatability of Microsoft Money Standard 2005 with Windows Millen I Currently Have an old Version of Microsoft Money Standard 2001. I used to be able to update my stock prices online automatically via the internet. This function does not work anymore. I was told by Microsoft Money Customer Service that I needed to update my software to a newer version like Money Standard 2004-2006. However, is Microsoft Money 2004-2006 compatable with Windows ME? I think that the only version that is compatible with Windows ME is Microsoft Money 2004? However, the Microsoft Works Suite 2005 package with all of the software including Money Standard 2005, says that it is compatible with ME. Should I buy the Money Standard 2004 version on its own, or should I buy the entire Microft Works Suite 2005? However, I guess I am looking for a Microsoft Money Version that updates online stock prices in my portfolio? If so, which one should I buy that will work with Windows ME?     - Cash Balance for Investment Account When I look at one of my "Investment Accounts", the Cash Balance when viewing the "Investment Transaction" Screen shows ($1,139.83). However, when I view the "Cash Transactions" screen, it shows a balance of $1,860.17. The correct amount is $1,860.17. I've been searching for the problem for several hours and am about to screem.     - Money 98 Statement Import Problem Hi, I'm having some trouble with my Money 98 Datafile. Ever since I imported a certain OFC file into money (at least, that's when I think it started), clicking on the "Update Acccount Register" button after choosing "Read Statement" in the Account register, does nothing.     - Two weeks 15 days? When I setup a reoccuring transaction as a "twice a month" transaction Money just seams to throw together whatever dates it wants. How do I make sure that these occur on specific days of the week. For example, I get paid every other Thursday, but Money sets it up for like every 15 days instead of 14.     - 2 accts from 1 bank in separate files? Hi! I am new to money. I am using the 2006 trial version. I have a personal acct as well as a joint acct with my husband at the same bank. I am trying to use money for my joint account, but it when it connected to my bank to download info, it also dowloaded my personal account. Now both accounts are in th same file, so it is impossible to generate a report that just looks at our joint account. Does this make sense? Anyway, I read a previous post that suggested creating a new file for the other account. How do I do this if the account is already in one money file? Am I supposed to go back and delete it from the original file after I add it to a new file? Because it won't let me. When I am in the original file, and try to "delete" my personal account, it tells me that if I do, ALL accounts from that bank will be deleted. Yikes! So I hit cancel and it suggested I "close" the account instead. This seems to have made my personal account not show up on the account list, but it is still used in all the reports I make. Ughgh!!!     - Chase - First USA (ala Bank One) merger causes dual downloads I have a Chase (was Bank One) checking account and a First USA (was Bank One) Visa. I am using M06 trial. A couple of days ago, after a download, a new account appeared called Bank One credit card and it had transactions downloaded that matched transaction that downloaded in my Visa account. I logged into my Chase web account and noticed it now displayed my checking account and a Visa account that was not there a week ago. I viewed the account number and sure enough it was the same as my First USA Visa account number. I know all about the Bank One, First Usa, and Chase merger (my wife worked for Bank One and is now a Chase employee). I logged into my First USA account (same logon screen as the Chase web site but different url, username and password). I could see my current Visa account. What I figured had happened is that M06 downloaded from both accounts, assumed I had a new credit card at Chase and created an account for it. My next instinctive move was to remove my download from First USA and just left everything download from Chase. What I did was deactivate my First USA username and thought all would be okay. I then went back into my Chase account and noticed my Visa account was no longer accessible online. I put a call into Chase and they explained they were starting the merger of the First USA Visa accounts into Chase accounts and that this was done with pointers between the two. To fix the problem, I had to reactivate my First USA username and allow web access. This allowed my Visa account to be seen on the Chase site and the First USA site. I then went into M06, deleted the Bank One credit card account and changed the online service of my Visa from the First USA account to the Chase account. I talked to the Chase rep and told them I wanted to remove the First USA Username but she said if I did this it would also deactivate access to my Visa via my Chase account. I asked what could be done because I did not want to leave the First USA username active if I was not going to use it. The Chase rep said don't worry, after six months of inactivity it will automatically lock but not remove web access to my Visa. I asked if I could have her lock it now and she said no, you have to wait and make sure I don't use it for six months.     - Budget problem I have a couple of budgeted items that do not show up as budgetd items on reports or summary. Both of the items are bills and are in the budget when I look at it and edit the budget but when I I look at the budget summary or any report it shows up as budget $0.00. No matter what time period I select either, even if I look at currect year. Again when I go into edit the budget it is in the budget. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?     - MS Money Mortgage Account I currently running MSM03. I have a mortgage account set up for the monthly payments. I set the account up based upon the amount of loan, monthly payment, rate and escrow details. When I pay the mortgage from my checking account, it automatically calculates the principal and interest per the orignal set up. Recently the calculated values are incorrect. For instance this month, an 1,800.00 payment should have calculated the payment to be ~801 (P) and ~789 (I), plus fixed excrow. It instead calculates tne principal as ~1,500.00 splits the fixed escrow and then calculates the interest as what is left over.     - MnyIco.exe I bought Money 2002 a couple of years ago and never installed it (was using excel). I just installed it yesterday and got the message that "C:\WINDOWS\Installer\....\MnyIco.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I called support (India) and could only find out that this product is not supported. I know it is an older version, but I just opened the CD sleeve and tried to install it.     - Bill Summary Balance It seems in 2006 you can't highlight one, or multiple, items in your bill summary listing and see what the balance will be after the items selected are completed. Has anyone found a way around this? I used this daily in 2005 and will be going back to 2005 if it's not available now. It was a fast and flexible way to analyze cash flow.     - Fidelity Account Stops Updating Hey All, I have been having a problem for the last couple of weeks (and I'm sure sure if it has to do with the 2005-2006 upgrade) or its something else, but my Fidelity Accounts stop downloading transactions for no obvious reason. The position data and cash balance comes down, and Money wants to adjust the positions, but Buy/Sell and Deposit/Withdrawal transactions on the cash side are not downloaded. The strange thing is (aside from the fact that I don't have any problems with the rest of my accounts) if I disable downloads, renable them, and download the last 7 days of transactions, everything comes down fine, matches correctly and I'm set.     - Inaccurate Category Summary Rpt. I have Money SBE 2004. I have noticed that adjustment transactions entered directly into a LOAN account are not reflected in the appropriate category when a Category Summary Report is run.     - Money 2006 + Canadian bank acct downloading Does ms money 2006 actually let you download from any canadian banks, or do you have to do the manual import?     - Digital File Attacments to Transactions Another question... I see that Quicken 2006 has resurrected a feature they included in one of their earlier versions; the ability to attach digital images to transactions (paycheck stubs, receipts,...whatever). This was a *terrific* feature and really loved it. It saved me a *lot* of trouble, particularly when I had to produce a receipt for an item that I had purchased a long time ago, yet was still under warranty. I could go on about how useful this feature was to me, but I digress... I was a loyal user of Quicken and TurboTax almost since the beginning, that is until the TurboTax Macrovision/C-Dilla slap in the face of a few years ago. At that time, out of protest, I swore off Intuit entirely and switched to Money and TaxCut. I've never regretted the decision. However, now that Intuit has brought this feature back to Quicken, I'm actually giving some thought to switching back, just for the digital file attachment feature. Frankly, I'd rather not, as I still don't think Intuit got the message from all the loyal customers they drove away.     - Online Payment Dates I use Money 2005 Deluxe. I know this topic has been covered before, but I'm trying to figure out how to get an online payment to show up in the register with the proposed date of payment (similar to entering a post-dated check in the register), rather than the date I enter the transaction. Download and install the trial. Then create a file with the same
Passport that you used when you bought the software. Close Money,
and re-open. It should reflect the proper type in Help->About. Then
you can File->Open your existing file.
