I want my wife and myself to be able to use Money 2003 on
our individual systems on our LAN (yes, we're nerds at
heart) and work on the same data file on another system.
That way we can divide-and-conquer the chores. Is this
possible?

Thanks for the help

Stephen

Money will access files in the UNC namespace. This means it will work with
data files over the LAN. BE VERY CAREFUL, however, as Money will mangle a
file if you try to simultaneously access it from different machines. This
includes "sneak" uses like MoneyExpress, MoneySide, and Background Banking.

Also from different users logged in on the _same_ machine using Fast User
Switching under XP.

For a long time I didn't use Money Express; but I recently started using it,
and didn't realise the potential impact when my wife Switched User and
started up Money to access our joint data file.

Stephen,

I use MS Money over a network and it works like a champ. My wife and I
both have our individual files on our respective computers. I set down
at my wife's computer and can access my file on my computer and access
her file from my computer.

Thanks Larry, Think I'll give it a shot with a cautionary
watch over the other points mentioned here. I'm hoping if
I just use a central data storage, and we don't use it
simultaneously, we should be fine. I'll be sure to keep
frequent backups, just in case :)
