I am using Money 2000 with Windows ME.

I am about to acquire a new machine running XP where I will install Money
2004

Will I be able to restore the backup I made on Money 2000 into Money 2004 on
the new machine ?

I don't want to lose Accounts & balances, Payees, Categories, Bill & Deposit
records etc.

Ideally what you want to do is copy the *.mny file across to the new PC.
Then double click on the file name in WE and M2004 will fire up, recognise
and convert the file.

If you use a CD to take the .mny file across don't forget to change to
attributes on the new PC from Read Only.

BTW I assume M2004 is from the same geography as M2000? i.e. they must both
be UK versions.
