When I installed 2005, I let Money update/import my 2004
files. The result is now a totally worthless product.
1. Bill Payment: What were monthly re-occurring bills are
now Twice a Month.
2. Bill Payment: Previously deleted re-occurring bills have
reappeared.
3. Categories: Money now re-created every category as
<Category>-#1. Now I have the original plus the new one.
4. Import of accounts which had a starting balance did not
import the starting balance. Now, all my accounts are
negative and my net-worth has gone down significantly.

I am back to using Money 2004 and seriously eyeing that
Quicken package in the store.

How did you do this "update/import"??? Did you just start M05 and let it
handle it? Did you do a File|Open? If you did an Import, what did you Import
from? A bunch of Export files? I opened a copy of my M04 file in M05 and it
upgraded without a hitch I've found yet.

I tried several ways.
The first way was when M2005 was installed and it handled
the update automatically using the "MyMoney" file.
The second time, I tried the File|Open mechanism.
Both produced the same (wrong) results.

What is also unusual is that the M2005 Home page when it
first starts up seems to start with the correct numbers,
but then updates itself and creates the wrong numbers.
I can see this under the Favorite Accounts box.

My money file is about 13 mb in size, over 4 years old and
at one time I did a "quick file repair" on it. M2004
functioned fine.

Wow.

I strongly suggest opening a support case directly with Microsoft. $pending
their $upport budget is the only way to get their attention.

Hi,

I opened a case for most of these items. The conversion
looked like it worked and them things started to change.
I lost favorites and them old bills showed up as late and
almost all accounts went negative.

The case number is:
