I added a bank, and have been updating it daily. I don't know what I did,
maybe closed money while it was updating.. but now it says "update in
progress" - and I know its not cause I've shut down several times. When I try
to "update now" it says it can't because one is in progress. But I know its
not. I'm sure I could delete the account, but then I would loose all my
categorized transactions. Please HELP!!!!

it just says update in progress - when I go to "read call summary" it says
"encountered error...." sometimes it says ofxie12029 (or something). I just
want money to forget that its in the middle of an update

I would disable online access for the problem account.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the whole purpose of purchasaing Money? Its may
main bank account, I've used this product for about 2 weeks, entering months
worth of data, and now I just stop using it?! Guess I'll get a stone tablet
and an abacus - more reliable!

You said "I just want money to forget that its in the middle of an
update". I guess you wanted more.

You could switch banks.

Or after disabling online access for your current bank, you could
try reenabling online access for your current bank.

You could name your current bank in case somebody has some
experience with your current bank.

I also had the Update In progress problem for _all_ my online accounts (9
accounts at 7 financial institutions).

Disabling and re-enabling online account access worked for me. Thanks for
the suggestion.

However, it also involves merging duplicate accounts and deleting duplicate
transactions. I wrote down what I did. Hope it helps someone else:

Note, you'll need to know your login information for the each account (since
you have to setup online account access again).

Disable and Re-enable online updates for the financial institution of your
problem account
* Navigate to the Account List
* Click "Manage online services"
* Click on the name of the "Bank or Brokerage" of the account that is
having a problem
* Click "Stop using online services" then click OK
* Click "Manage online services" again
* Click "Setup online services" link next to the bank of the account that
is having a problem and complete the setup procedure
-- I always select "Last 30 days" when choosing the time period of
transactions to download; I have a feeling that choosing a shorter timeframe
may limit the number of duplicate transactions you have to delete in the
steps below, but I'm not 100% sure.

In doing this a new account will be created; it will be a duplicate of your
existing account. You need to merge the two. See also the "Merge Duplicate
Accounts" help topic.
* Go back to Account List
* Look for a newly added account that will have been freshly updated
* Click "Merge Duplicate accounts"
* Look for the name of the old account that was having a problem
* From the Merge dropdown list select the new account that was just
created for that financial institution
* Click OK

Sometimes you'll find duplicated transactions in the merged account. You'll
need to remove those. See also the "Delete duplicate transactions" help
topic.
* Click on your account to go to the register
* Select the "Change Register View" dropdown
* Select "All Transactions" then do it again and select "Last 3 months"
* Look for duplicated transactions; you'll find two transactions on the
same date for the same amount
* Delete the one that was just created; it seems to be the second
transaction, and will have "Downloaded" just below the Memo

Repeat these steps for each account that is having the problem.

This also works when two accounts share the same financial institution.
Just make sure when you "Merge Duplicate Accounts" that you correlate the
correct accounts.
