After recently updating my MS Money to the latest version I have not been
able to update my accounts. My last successful update shows 10/13/07. I can't
figure out the problem. I have tried to merge duplicate accounts, no luck....
I need some help.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading from the trial version of Money
Plus Deluxe. During the attempted updates, I get a runtime error. Then the
Money program closes. Can't enter some transfer transactions, either. "This
tranaction cannot be entered" error pops up.

Running Vista?
What is the error message?

I have the same problem. "Upgraded" from 2005 to Money + Premium due to
online services expiration. Running XP. New version says online services
have expired, click here to update. I click there and it tells me my online
services are good until 2009. I click on Update Now in one of the various
places in various windows and get a blank box or "Update not complete"
message. Been working with e-mail support for over a week now, but so far
nothing seems to fix it. Hopefully someone can actually help us out on this.

I have read several posts from Cal Learner about going to Tools>Internet
Updates>Customize updates. The customize page comes up, but there is nothing
to check or uncheck on this page, - No "Automated Online Updates" category
even listed. The only thing showing is "Quotes and other Information" and
the update stocks and fund quotes timing (every 90minutes) is inaccessible -
greyed out. What's the deal here??

I've got a similar problem. I just bought MS Money Plus Deluxe yesterday,
upgrading from MS Money 2006.

Online services status (from the Tools menu) says I'm active until
1/19/2010, but my stock prices won't update. When I click Update Online
Quotes, I get an Update Status pop up that says Update Not Complete, with a
link to Learn More. That tells me that my online services have expired....

What am I doing wrong?

One thing that might be an issue is whether you have at least one account set
up for online updates (like your bank or Fidelity, Vanguard, etc). I
couldn't get updates for all my stocks and funds until I set up one of them -
then it updated all (not just ones at Fidelity).
In my specific situation I also started a new file, thinking something was
corrupted in my old one. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be
after exporting the accounts I really needed to a desktop folder and then
importing them to the new file. But I still had to open at least one online
account.

I'm having much the same problem but with just one Investment account. When I
cancel the online services and reset it up it works and down load the account
but then I have two accounts the old one with all the transactions and the
new one with just one transaction, correct number of shares but with a zero
balance. When I merge these accounts. Update fails again and I get last call
encountered an error and could not update your account. Please up date your
account ...
I've done all the suggestions here and in the tech articals I can find. I
have only one account out of 6 that I'm having trouble with and it even
worked fine until mid March. I'm using Money 2008 Plus Premium and up graded
to it just after the first of the year. OS is XP Pro with all the updates.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

After a week or so of really comprehensive troubleshooting with a Microsoft
employee via email, it ultimately came down to having to export all of my
accounts and then reimporting them into a new file. I still haven't done it,
since it will take a long time (dozens of accounts covering ~12 years) and
won't be exactly what I had before, whether I re-import in Money or Quicken.
I'm still debating--I've used Money religiously since 1995 or 96, so the
Quicken is still in the shrink wrap.

Hope you have a different problem, but the Microsoft solution for me was
"start over."
