Unable to connect to quotes server

Over the last few weeks, more and more often the update
prices option in my portfolio fails as "unable to connect
to quotes server". Now it always fails.

I've run msmoney -s as a clean up measure.

I've attempted to download the latest Money ActiveX
controls (as instructed in a forum) but that always fails
part way through (typically between 80 and 90%)and
claims "Internet connection lost" - which it isn't.

Any suggestions?

Hi Cal, I have just loaded Money 2004 on my PC running
XP. After 5 years of absolutely smooth and easy Money 98
operation, I am having dreadfull trouble, and cannot get
my portfolio to update its prices when I request online
update (I have not enabled my Passport access). My Bank
transactions download and update OK. I've noticed your
suggestion below in several other responses, AND NO it
doesn't work, I cannot get the ActiveX thing to work any
which way - even downloading from the .cab file (which
does download) does not help. I've also uninstalled my
virus chacker and Advertising POP-UP Killer software, but
all to no avail.

As with other users - I just cannot get any of my
portfolio items to update. The Call always goes through
successfully but nothing changes EXCEPT the DOW, Nasdaq
etc.

Keeping my fingers crossed as this is my last resort
before going back to good old Money 98!!!
