Is it a coincidence? There was a thread " URGENT HELP - MONEY 2006
won't start at all !!" a few days ago? Or is that "URGENT HELP"
phrase generated by some program?

Anyway, in XP, open Windows Explorer. Browse to Sample.mny in your
Money install folder. Open that file by right-clicking and choosing
Open. Does Money open? If not, you could reinstall Money, or you
could restore XP to a Restore Point from a few days ago.

In Vista it is similar, but run Sample.mny as Administrator.

If Sample.mny opens, then the consider restoring your latest or
second-latest backup.

With Money open to any file, try to make a repaired version of your
*.mny file with File->RepairMoneyFile->StandardFileRepair level 2

Also, consider going back to an even older file, or consider
reinstalling Money.

I was proposing you not use the latest backup but rather the oldest
backup. You can choose during restore to not restore to the default
location, but rather to Browse to your documents folder and choose a
new name. That way you will not overwrite an existing file in case
that turns out to have value. Name the file something associated
with the time of the backup.

If you bought Money 2006 rather than having it as an OEM install,
got to Help->About and write down the serial number. You could use
that as your product ID to contact Microsoft support.

A Friend of mine with Money 2007 suggest me to do the next steps and it works

1. Opening a new File ( a new one or other diferent like sample)
2. Click on Settings an Change the Home settings by removing every thing
less account page
3. From File menu to open the file i want to and finaly works.

The question is why..., i just think there is a problen with the WinExplorer
or Money's internet connection. I hope this helps someone to find the real
problem and solve it.

Thanks a lot for your interest and help

This happened to me and I found opening a backed up copy of my My
Money file seemed to resolve the issue. Problem? I had to reconcile my
checkbook back to the date that the back up copy was created.

Best of luck!
