I can manually enter a transaction into my Bank of America Checking register
and then synchronize and exact matching transactions are entered as new
transactions instead of combining with the match as in Money 2004 and
previous version. We're talking the same amount and the same exact date.

Perhaps I've missed a setting somewhere? Thanks in advance....

M2005- No Transaction Matching by Chris

Chris

I am having the exact same problem.

With M2004, I entered transactions manually into my BofA
account register. When transctions were downloaded, I
would have the option to "Accept" or "Change"
transactions and the software would attempt to
automatically match transactions that look alike (same
date, same amount, etc..) -- No longer -- now if I enter
a transaction in manually, I get a duplicate transaction
inserted when the online update occurs.

I can't find anything in the online help or on the money
web site to explain this problem to me.

I've been a Money user for a few years now, but if I
can't resolve this problem I'm seriously thinking about
switching to Quicken.

If anyone has a resolution, please let me know!

Thanks!

Chris

Same here...

I've been using since 1999 and this is absurd. Now if I sync or download I
just end up with double transactions... it's very frustrating...

Good idea, except that voiding the transactions really
clutters up the register. What I've started doing now is
deleting the transactions that I've entered manually.

You'd almost think they expect us to wait until an online
update occurs before we edit the payee/category..

Tools -> Settings -> Online Services

.. would indicate otherwise. Microsoft needs to fix this
very fast.

By the remote chance that an MS developer reads this, I'm
using the small business edition, v14.0.150.825

This issue appears to occur with the conversion of the M2004 or prior
version file. I had the exact same situation occurring. I found no fixes
to it.

What I had to do was start with a brand new Money file. Then I exported the
data in my old file to QIF and then imported it to the new files. This was
not too bad, however, you must re-enter all of your scheduled bills and
recreate all of your loans from scratch. Also, you lose your payee info
(address, phone, acct, etc) and your user-defined category structures.

Sorry it isn't easier then that. The issue has been raised to MS however
they had told me the issue was not something they would deal with in this
version of Money. Maybe an update to 2005 however they never stated that.

Really sad that the product has gone to the dumps with a single release... I
haven't had any real problems with Money other than some MSN Sync stuff in
2003 but these bugs are really ruining the product for me.

I converted my 2004 to 2005 and matching is working fine here. Might check
with your FI or use the procedure for coping the downloaded file to see
what's going on.

Wish the rest of us had been as lucky. This is happening with all of my
FI's and was not happening up until I converted to M2005.

I have documented this problem with BoA. I recently verified with in
Money Central the all of my accounts that use Yodlee as the download
mechanism fail with similar or worse functions. Those that use OFX do
not fail. The most recent email that I received from my now escalated
incident report have "Allen" recommending that I stop using online
functions for anything that uses a Yodlee interface. Other issues I
have with BoA beyond those mentioned here are that check numbers are not
passed to me. Thus I have shutdown using online banking and gone back
to the 2004 style.

I even created an entire new file and moved my Milestone FCU savings
acount and my BoA accounts to it using QIF files. It allowed me to one
perform normal functions, but once I started manually entering the
checks I had written or the Bills I had paid via BoA bill pay, the
result was the same in ability to have an opportunity to match and
accept downloads.

Until Microsoft or Yodlee fixes the interface, I have sworn off using
online updates to Yodlee based online updates. I will probably keep ATT
Universal and Citibank Master Card as they are direct OFX. I might even
keep Fidelity Netbenifits as it works (even though it is Yodlee) I
definitely will not keep BoA, MFCU, Diners Card, or TIAA-CREF as they do
not work with Money 2005. The last inspite of them appearing to work on
the Yodlee web site.
