Mutual fund codes
I have a mutual fund that I cannot get the prices for. The code is
CA:AIM3593 and Money does not list that fund. I'm upgrading from Quicken
2002, which could download prices for this fund and I'm deciding between the
latest versions of Money and Quicken.
There are 7 other funds that I cannot get prices for because Money does not
list the fund. The codes are all available at

Quicken.

Internet connection not seen during activation
I'm trying to activate my Money Plux Deluxe (2008?), but after entering the
key and clicking the 'activate' button, I get the following error dialog box:
Money could not be activated. Please confirm your product key and check to
be sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
I double checked the key, and it appears to be correct. My web browser
appears to be getting pages correctly...I have a wired and wireless
connections on this computer, and the Windows Vista firewall is on. Do I

Not updating quotes
I am running MS Money 2006 Deluxe on SP2 and it suddenly stopped updating my
quotes. I believe my license doesn't run out until Sept 08 (is there any
way to check when I actually activated my current version?) as the "license
agreement" says it is in force until Sept 08 or until two years from date of
activation, whichever is earlier. This could be a Microsoft server
problem -- seems to happen every six months or so. Is anyone else having

"Transactions to read" stuck in MS Money Plus
Hi,
I just upgraded from Microsoft Money 2007 to Microsoft Money Plus.
Right after that, I ran into a problem where my mny file got
corrupted. I repaired the file using the repair tool and it seemed to
work. In the "View Log" section of the repair tool, it said it
removed records from the online table (whatever that means).
However, after this, when I download statements, the "Transactions to
Read" count does not reduce even after accepting all transactions.
Has anyone experienced this? Any help will be appreciated.

Bank of America credit cards
Hi. I am trying the downloaded version of Money. I set up my B of A
(Ca) checking, cds and credit cards. The checking and CDs update juas
fine, but I have to go to BofA's web site and download the credit
card. And then it only downloads the last statement balance. Is this
normal?

Problem loading program
Hi. I am trying the downloaded version. Sometimes I open the
program with the web option, the program hangs after the progress
button moves 3 or 4 spots to the right. The only way I can shut it
down is using the Task manager to end program. It opens OK if I
choose not to use the online services and then, when I want to
download, I get the box to open the web option and it works just

Where Does Transfer from Bank Deposit Go in Investment Account
This is a little involved.
I have always used an asset account to keep track of my 401(k). I set
up each paycheck I deposited to send the amount deducted for my 401(k)
to my 401(k) asset account in Money. I simply wanted to keep track of
the value.
Taking advantage of a switch my company made from one brokerage to
another I decided to set up my 401(k) accounts in Money as investment
accounts and to download the transactions directly from the broker.
An investment account is a very different account from an asset
account as I already knew from some stocks I own.
I have two questions:
I have the split in my paycheck deposit set up to send the money to
the 401(k) account. The account also downloads the transaction from
the web. I only see the one transaction so, does Money automatically
recognize this transaction from my paycheck transfer? Or does it do
something else with it? I noticed in one of the help files that it
talks about setting up a cash account for each investment account.
I also notice that there are no total amounts in the account register
for each transaction. I know that Money automatically updates the
amount of each line (I think). The only totals shown are those for my
contributions and for dividend reinvested.
I'd appreciate any clarification on what is going on here.

Stock funds are days behind the real price
Why are the stock funds not been updated for days?
I have stock funds from diffrent brokers (out of europe) and if i have it
right this data is coming from monrningstar but this information is more then
5 days behind.

MS Money Plus 2008 trial time is over - want to convert back.
I have been using MS money 2007 since it came out. I usually upgrade
every year. So I downloaded the trial of 2008 (plus) and installed
it. I've been using it for about a month and have determined that for
me the cost of upgrading is not worth the additional features. I
would like to continue to use MS Money 2007. However, when I try to
open my data file that I've been using with 2008, 2007 won't open it.
I have a month's worth of new transactions in the 2008 file and it
would be a real pain to reenter them.
Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can continue to use the 2007
software with the file that's been used by 2008?

Beginning Balance does not match calculated
I went against my own rule, after creating this problem for myself
once before, and changed the beginning balance that Money came up with
when trying to balance my account. Now I am repeatedly getting the
message that the beginning balance I entered does not match the
beginning balance that Money calculated.
How do I find out what the balance is that Money calculated so I can

MS Money Plus: printing account register
I have tried to print an account register using the reports menu but I cannot
get separate credit and debit columns. For a credit card account all I get
are is the credit column and a running ballance. I do not see an option to
get all 3 columns on customizing a report. Seems like it ought to be a 'no
brainer', but then automobiles used to be simple once upon a time. Any ideas.

Money Plus 2008 Tax rates incorrect
I have the new Money Plus 2008 Premium installed. The tax rates for tax
year 2008 have not been updated although it appears that the 2007 rates are
correct. As a result, the "tax estimator" module gives incorrect values for
the 2008 tax year. I went into Settings-TAX settings, and all of the 2008
entries reflect rates older than 2007. For instance, the standard deduction
and exemptions do not reflect the 2008 rates, eg $3500 per person exemption
and $10900 standard deduction.
How do I get MS Money to update the new tax rates other than my manually
entering the correct rates as a "custom" rate in Settings. Previous
versions of Money automatically updated the tax rates when they changed. I
have a constant internet connection and my online bill pays and updates are

Money 2002 Online Price Updates
I have recently updated my computer to VISTA and have had to re-instal
Money2002 Personal and Business edition. Since then the online price updates
no longer run on start up. I have to manually use the update price option and
this does retrieve updated prices for the shares as expected.
Does anyone kn ow how to fix the problem so that the update of prices
happens automatically every 6 hours as it used to do when I was using Windos
XP Home?

I have just upgraded Money and installed on a different computer. I want to
uninstall 2002 from the old computer but can not find the install disk and it
is not an option in the applications list.
How can I uininstall 2002? Just delete the directories and then clean up

Prompted to Register When Downloading Transactions
I recenlty upgraded my laptop with a larger hard drive. I reinstalled Money
2001 onto my new hard drive. (I haven't upgraded because it suits my needs
just fine!) Now whenever I go to download transactions from my bank account
online, I get a prompt reminding me to register Money. Apparently,
registration is required to access online features. If I try to "re-register"
by filling in the info and clicking Submit, I get an error saying the server
cannot be contacted. I assume this may be because the software is older and
no longer supported by Microsoft.
But, is there any way to get rid of the annoying Registration prompt
screen?? My product already IS registered with Microsoft. I OWN the product,

Home screen report (Spending by category)
I've got my home page set up just the way I had it (after one of my RAID0
drives crashed, taking my Money file with it :,( ). Anyhow, the Spending by
Category report shows expenses put on one of my credit card accounts in
addition to my checking account. I only want it to show spending in my
checking account. I've tried changing the report settings to not include the
credit card account, and if I go to Reports -> Spending by Category, it does
not show expenses from the credit card. I've even reinstalled Money. Does the
Home Page report show all spending in all accounts by default? It's so

Gen'l Money 2007 Question
Hello,,
This year I've decided to expand my use of Money 2007, to begin a more
analytical look at my budget & spending. One question I do have is
when categorizing payments to a credit card and/or equity loans.
Should I record the expense and categorize it to it's appropriate
category at the time the item initially appears on the credit
card/equity loan?? Or should I expense it at the time of payment?? If
I should do it at the time the item is recorded on the creditcard,
what would be the best way to categorize the payment?? I'm not certain
what is the correct way to do this. I think it would be best to do it
at the time it is recoprded on the credit card, but then I have no
idea as to how to categorize the payment.

mouse scroll doesn't work in register
I use windows vista 32bit. Microsoft Money Plus deluxe. Installed it as
administrator. Everything seems to work fine except that when I am in the
account register the mouse scroll wheel does not work at all. It works okay
in other parts of Money. Just not in the register. It is a real pain to move
throught the transactions using the scroll bars.
I want to switch to Money from Quicken becasue it would only scroll up and
not down. But that would be preferrable to not scrolling at all!

In "VIEW CATEGORIES", there's no provision for scrolling down to see
the last categories, and no way to see the INCOME Categories.
VIEW PAYEES works fine!! It's the categories that I can't see, to

Slow loading of money files
Upgraded from deluxe 2007 to deluxe 2008 (Money Plus Deluxe). Same file now
takes 10-15 minutes to load, and that is if it loads at all. Maxes out both
CPUs and freezes up sometimes. Have done both quick and standard repair with
"no errors". File size increased by 20 MB after repair. Running on Vista
Ultimate x32. Right now I can't use the upgrade in the present state. Fist
time in eleven years I've had a "real difficult" problem using Money. Any

I downloaded the program, installed it, created a file with several
accounts, and downloaded my 2008 data in the file. I now want to
purchase it, but:
I understand from the manual that the activation code was contained in

Shall I buy a boxed copy and install it?

Error When closing Money 2006
I recfently started getting an "Error 15" when closing my Money file. The
file, while quite large, is still functioning. I have tried both repair

I have Money 2002. I am a property manager and use "Properties" as a
classification. This being a new year, I need to set up balances for each
property I manage. For example, from the same bank account, I need to set up
Money so that Property 1234 starts the year with $1000, while Property 5678

do CC payments show up in cash flow?
I use my CC to track most of my spending and pay off the bill each month when
it comes, using a transfer from my checking to the CC. Money downloads it as
"internet payment" and it jives with the transfer that I made from my
checking account.
However, it doesn't appear in my cash flow forecast, either as a trended
item or an approximate one. Is it supposed to?

How reliable is MS Money?
I would appreciate some feedback on how reliable MS Money is in
regards to online banking? I currently have Quicken 2008 and it has
never been reliable in that regard. It was a pain to setup, but after
correctly initial balance errors all was well for maybe a week. Then
it had problems downloading transactions with bank #1 After fixing
that a few times bank #1 seems to be stable Bank #2 starting bombing
out shortly there after and has never worked more than a day at the
most since. Sometimes the error would say it was on quicken's end and
they would fix withing 48 hours yet a month later and I am still
waiting. I bought the software to save time not waste it and It's not
worth the hassle to remove/reinstall every time I need to download new
transactions . How does money compare as far as online stability is
concerned?

Unaccepted transactions not showing up
I have had no problems before but today I updated my accounts and every
account says it has transactions but no are showing up. I can even select
accept all tranactions and nothing happens, It still says I have
transactions to accept. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know
what I can do>
