It really stinks that over half of the posts in Money
Central and Money have NOTHING to do with MS Money or MSN
Money. When I belonged to Compuserve a few years back, the
forums were FANTASTIC. Almost every post stayed on topic,
every post was answered by at least l person, usually
several, and there were users (Like MVP's) that could tell
you anything. You learned quickly who could give you an
answer-I totally depended on that forum to keep 20+
computers trouble free.

Does anyone know of a forum like that??? This forum is not
cutting it. Not only do half my posts go unanswered, there
is more junk mail than I wish to have to deal with.

I think you need to separate issues here. First, the junk mail is,
unfortunately, a pretty annoying side effect--especially lately--of any
usenet-based newsgroup. This is not Microsoft's fault, nor the fault of
anybody who posts here. Nor, by any means, is it unique to
microsoft.public.* newsgroups. My ISPs server serves up something like
27,000 newsgroups. microsoft.public.* is maybe 400 of these.

Near as I can tell, the vast majority of posts that start on topic in this
forum stay on-topic. I couldn't agree more that the microsoft.public.*
groups are getting more and more spam and, worse, viral social engineering
posts lately than I'd rather see. But such is the way of the Internet, I'm
afraid.

Most posts to this newsgroup are answered--many several times by several
different people, with a range of answers. As a frequent poster--generally
answering questions--I'm at a loss why you would expect a 100% response rate
from volunteers. Also speaking as a frequent responder, I'd suggest that you
are more than welcome to contribute your share to answering other's
questions. Some of these are pretty hard--if not impossible--to answer.
Others are just ragging and there's nothing to answer. Still others are just
so bizarre or come from people who are just obviously beyond help or in need
of such fundamental help (this is a window, this is mouse) that trying to
help them in this format is just a hopeless proposition.

I'm really astounded, however, at your assertion that half your posts go
unanswered. In the entire usenet archive at http://groups.google.com, I find
only one post for this email address. That post was, indeed, to this group.
It was an agreement that some problem was annoying and an urging that "We
need to send feedback to fix this in the next edition." By contrast, my most
common email address (and not the only one and not the one I'm presently
using to try to reduce the spam and viral feedback) returns 4,110--the vast
majority in the newsgroup microsoft.public.money.

I'm feeling for you, but I can't quite reach you.

Email addresses are being picked up from any Usenet post to any group. There
are tens of thousands of Usenet groups. This is just one of them. This has
been widely commented upon in many places.

This is not a "forum" in the sense of a moderated, centralized, collection
like the CIS forums. This is a Usenet newsgroup. Every post is passed from
server to server more or less around the world. Nobody controls the posts.
No single source can screen them or even gets all of them.

BTW, please identify what other posting names you've used and I'll search
the archives and see if there is any reason over half your posts have not
gotten responses. You can mangle your email address (e.g.,
