    - Show yearly budged item in cash flow? I am using Money 2005 Deluxe. I am working with a checking account that shows Montlhy budgeted items as well as scheduled withdrawals and expenses. This works well. However, items that are budgeted yearly for this checking account are not showing up in the cash flow. For example: Cash Flow shows the scheduled paycheck deposit, the scheduled transfers out of accounts, the monthly budgeted cash withdrawals at the ATM, the monthly budgeted automobile maintenance, etc. BUT, I have an item called Automobile: Tires that I have budgeted for $1000 YEARLY. Under categories I have made sure this category is to be withdrawan from this checking account. But it still does not show up in Cash Flow for this checking account. Am I doing something wrong that the tires will not show up in cash flow as I have it set up? Does anyone have an idea how to fix this so my cash flow forecast includes this yearly budged amount?     - how to deal with reimbursement? Hi, I created a sub category "reimbursement" in the "health" category. My goal is that the health expenses represent really what it costed me. The problem is that the "health" category display only shows debits. It doesn't take into account the reimbursements. In the same manner, for the budget, health reimbursements only appear as revenues. I didn't find any way to deduct them from the health expenses. I encounter the same problem with business expenses: I have to do myself the difference between expenses and reimbursement. Have somebody find any way to solve this problem?     - Money 2005 does not update last downloaded date. Every I download my bank data, the last downloaded date doesn't update. As far as MS Money is concerned the last time I loaded my bank information was over a year ago. What causes this issue and what can be done to fix it? It's minor, but still rather annoying. Dennis.     - taxable/non taxable dividends using ms money 2005. I am trying to get a report on my stocks showing the total taxable dividends and the total non taxable divinends in two seperate reports. I have my investment to show taxable and non taxable and i have showen the correct tax form. the only report i can get is a report showing total dividends (this shows all dividends taxable and not taxable togeather).     - Account Summary borken? I've been using Money 2004 for about a year now and realized that the "account summary" for all my investment accounts is supposed to have useful info, and I don't sem to have that. When I go to account summary for any investment account there 3 columns labeled "currency" and thats all. For each column there are entries that say "US Dollar", the correct number of lines for the number of investments in that account. I can right-click those and get a menu that takes me to useful info like details etc, but the security name and other info does not show up in the account summary. I'm assuming that for many of you out there, there are columns with useful information - correct???. I did a search of the newsgroup and found one other person who seemed to have the same problem, and had converted from Quicken, which is also what I did. No-one responded to him. I tried creating a new investment account, but it had the same problem. Is there a way to change the columns in the account summary? I can't find anything that does that.     - Categories in reverse order... In reports > Transactions by Category > (Select Accounts and Categories) > Rows and Columns Tab, select Subtotal by Categories > click ok... The categories come out in reverse alphabetical order. I can't figure a way to get them to put the categories, A up top, Z at the bottom. Anyone have an idea or solution? I tried clicking on the Category column. The little arrow moves from up to down, but the report doesn't change. This does work for date and payee, though. UGGH!     - Interest assiged to class? We have 5 rental properties and have the mortgage interest assigned to category, "Prop Exp (Sched E):Interest". We have a different class for each property.     - 2005 corrupt data file Money was working pretty well for me and then suddenly it quit working. I contacted Microsoft support and we worked on the problem for a while. The person seemed fairly knowledgeable. Finally she asked me how large my data file was. I told her that it was about 35 MB. She told me that money only supports data files that are about 25 MB in size. I ask her if this was documented somewhere. She told me no. I ask her if Microsoft had the ability to fix this file for me so that I wouldn't lose my data. She told me no once again. I was really shocked by this. If your there was such a limitation, Microsoft should have at least warned its customers. I have hundreds, probably thousands of investment transactions which go back for many years, and I counted on Money to handle my financial transactions. Fortunately I do have backup files that go up until November of last year, so I have a way to get to many of the old transactions. Has anyone else experience this problem?     - Restore from .NET passport??? Hey there. I was wondering if it is at all possible to restore data from my .NET passport account. The file was associated with a Money 2005 data file I had created (but evidently did not back up) before I reformatted my hard drive.     - Trial version overwrites paid version. I've been using Money forever and wanted to get 05 for the automatic updates. I backed up my 04 and signed up for the trial version. It seem to work OK. Then I read that everything might not port over correctly when/if I pay and get a full copy. So I bought a copy, downloaded and installed. Worked fine. Once Money finished downloading the updates, it reverted back to the trial version. What do I do know? I paid money for 05 deluxe and now it won't work. You have to love Microsoft.     - How do you enter in Employee Stock Purchase Plans (423 Plans) I get a discounted price when the purchase is made (15% minus the lower of either the 1st day or last day of the quarter) In quicken they handle these. When I enter it in, it allows me to put in the true price and my discounted price. Then it can track the capital gains tax based upon how long I hold the stock.     - modifying budgeted income I'm using Microsoft Money 2003. I entered in a recurring $5000 deposit and wanted to test it out. When i went to the bills&deposits screen and recorded the deposit, it worked out great. But the problem occured when i tried to undo that recording action. I went to the accounts screen and to my checking account and deleted the transaction, which worked just fine. The deposited amount was subtracted. The deposit was monthly, and so it said the bill was last paid on july 1st, and the next payment was to be august 1st. But when i went back to the bills&deposits screen, and modified it to say the deposit was july 1st again, (since i deleted the transaction), i went back to my budget screen and it effectively doubled my income! It said i had a budgeted income of $10,000 now, instead of the original $5,000. I tried to edit my budget, but it seems to be fine. How do i "reset" my budgeted income?     - Money2004 tries new setup Suddenly, today when I went to open Money 2004 , which I've been using successfully for a long time, it's trying to go through a new setup("Setup Assistant will upgrade your file and ask a few questions to help you get started". WHY? I'm concerned that something is curupt. So, I aborted & ran my virus scan(Avast) & Spybot. Nothing turned up bad from those scans. When I tried again to open Money2004 & went to follow the setup to the next screen(MONEY FILE CONVERSION) it states that Money 2004 will make a copy of my original file "C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\AVAST!~1.LNK", so your data will not be lost.     - Online payments Whenever I sumbit an online paymet, and it is processed, money automatically assigns it a date of 12/31/1969. It still pays it on the date I originally specified but the wrong date confuses things like when the bill was last paid and it makes it harder to find the record in my register. Obviously the small guys don't do on-line anything, so I have been entering stuff for years on my own.     - XL2QIF w/401K My financial services company doesn't offer Money exports, so I'm using XL2QIF to try to recreate a file and import it. This is for a 401K account. I've got the columns DATE, CATEGORY, ACTION, COMMISSION, QUANTITY, PRICE, ACOUNT. Create the QIF file. So I go to File -> Import -> As a New or Recovered Account. Then it asks me to pick an account, so I select the account. Then it asks me to "Choose the Money investment..." I would like to use for this import. Well, there are several funds in the import, so I guess I must import the funds individually and then select them in the list (?). So I select which fund. Well, it LOOKs like it imported, but in each of the transactions money has added ON ITS OWN the Transfer From selection of the account I selected. How the heck do I just do a simple import without having money trying to outsmart me? Is there a guide that goes through the process of how to properly create a file to import to Money? Thanks.     - currency mismatch I am using Money 2001 (PC came with winXP home edition). I am attempting to download my credit card statments from ATT universal card into Money. It doesn work; the downloading process gives an error message: "Your statement contained a default currency (USD) which was unrelated to the currency of the account 'AT&T Universal Card Credit Card'. Money does not support statements containing unrelated default currencies." The default currency for my Money software is "$", whereas ATT statements show "USD". What should I do?     - Phantom Cash In M2004, my cash balance in a brokerage acct (under cash transactions) is $144. In portfolio view it's $0, which is correct. The $144 is the combined total of 2 dividends, but they are properly accounted for, with the dividends going into a money market acct. I deleted all (orginally downloaded from broker) and rentered.     - Help! - Restoring a back-up file This morning I had to format my HDD and re-install windows. I backed up my Money files onto a memory stick and have now re-installed Money (2003 standard). I cannot, however, restore the back-up. I go into File/restore back up. I select the back-up file and click on 'restore'. I then get a window asking me where I want to file the restored back-up file and gives me the default option in 'My Documents'. If I then click on restore - all that happens is that the back-up file is duplicated into My Documents - nothing goes into 'Money' itself.     - MS Money 2004 : phantom transactions on list of accounts Been using Money for several years. Just yesterday, I started noticing a worrying problem. All my accounts totals on the "list of accounts" summary screen are wrong. If I go into the individual accounts they are right, but there are any number of accounts that have the total wrong in summary. "Favourite Accounts" are the same way. I think what is happening is that Money has applied all the future items from the "Bills and deposits" list as duplicate phantom transactions to these totals. When I go to the list of accounts and click on the (+) to expand an account I can see them, but when I actually go into the account they aren't there so I can't remove them. If I go to calendar for July, each "bill and deposit" I have scheduled has a double entry (one with a line through and the other which I guess is the "real" one). This is driving me crazy - I've been using this product for so long I don't want to have to start all over again. Tried the "repair money file" to no avail. Help!!!!     - Budget Adjusts when I add a bill I have recurring payments set up for a monthly expenditure that happens on the first of every month. It just so happens that this month, the expense was $41 dollars over normal (the bill is normally $175). When I wrote the check for $216 and added it in, the Budget Summary adjusted my budgeted amount for this category by the difference. Here is the scenario: $300/ea. month set aside for Pet Care. $175 normally for Horse Board This month it was 216.13 Budget adjusted my $300 to $342 so that I have the normal monthly remainder of $125 left over.     - Check printing issue In Money 2002 I will create a series of checks to print but after having individually printed all but the last check the "Print Checks" option disappears, though there remains in the register that final check to be printed. If I go to File/Print Checks, it tells me that I have no accounts with checks to be printed. If I create a bogus check to print, I get the print option again and can print the intended check, after which time I delete the bogus check. But this is time consuming.     - M05 Save issues Over the last several days, I have noticed a new problem with my M05 file. I download transactions from the bank, review them, editing as necessary, then, "Accept" them. When I close out that M05 session, I always back-up to my hard drive and a floppy. The problem is that, when I re-open M05 the next time, those transactions that I previously "Accepted" are still showing as needing review. In other words, it appears as though my 'Save' isnt' working. I am currently creating an additional back-up floppy, but, i wondered if this is a known problem, and, how to remedy it? Also, in reading the Archives of this board, I found a note from a user that stated that WinXP has a 'built-in' that will allow me to save my M05 file to a CD in addition to the floppy. Is this true? How much you are paying in the future? What I owe|Scheduled Bills. (Assuming
you've scheduled them.)

What you have paid in the past? Income and Expenses|Transactions by Payee is
one way. Income and Expenses|Account Transactions, suitably customized
including Details|Type|Transfers and Categories|Select All is another.
