Can anyone explain the exact relationship between what you set up as
categories and the budget amounts? It seems they are not connected and that
the budget categories do not match the categories. You can change Budget
Groups but not Category Groups. I just don't understand the logic behind
how these two things, which should be connected, are set up!

Thanks,
Clark

These are two different questions. As to the first, budget categories and
expense categories should be flip sides of the same coin--your historic
spending for Food:Groceries should, for instance, be used by Auto Budget to
predict future spending in that category.

Budget Groups and Category groups, however, are essentially useless and
meaningless. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=20 for pretty much
everything that we collectively know about budget groups vs. category
groups.
