I'm unable to open up my 2005 Money file (approx 50 MB) in my new copy
of Money 2006 Premium. I've tried all the repair steps, but every time
I try to open the file, I get the "We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has
experienced an internal error and will have to restart" window every
time. I talked to the MS technical support group, but they were of no
help -- ended up telling me I'd have to export all of my info account
by account and try to import it into a new file, which would take me
much more time than it's worth (I might as well import it into
Quicken!)

Anybody else experiencing this problem? I'm guessing I have something
wrong with my file, but it works fine in Money 2005, so I'm not sure
how to diagnose.

Can you create a new file?

Note that you have a *.m14 file on your system. That is a copy of
the Money 2005 file before you converted it. I would put an extra
copy of that *.m14 file onto different media, such as a USB flash
drive, so no misfortune can happen to it.

Consider running salv.exe on your Money file to see if salv.exe can
make a repaired version.

Thanks -- I can create a new file in 2006 just fine . . . and I've
tried running the salvage utility several times without success. When I
run the standard file repair, I get the message "Fixed records in BILL
table" every time I do it -- is that a clue? (I deleted all of my
bills, but still get this message.) Anything else I can try?
