After the recent security upgrade to Money, I was required to setup all of
our banking and credit card accounts. I am having a problem with one credit
card account that continually returns a call summary: "Microsoft money could
not receive information from your bank or brokerage. Please set up this
account again."

I have reset the password for the account, cleared cookies and temporary
internet files in my browsers and have done a quick repair on Money, but the
error persists.

I have two other accounts at the same institution, which updated without
problems.

The tech support people at the CC company were unable to resolve the issue
as well.

Are you able to log into the account via their web site?

When you look at
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx?FirstLetter=&FinananceOrganisationType=CreditCardProvidersOnly
for your provider, is that credit card listed? And if so, does the
description use the term "third party" or "web" or not.

It is listed. The two other accounts with the institution updated with no
problem, however, the error continues for my wife's account.

Somebody may have knowledge of how Capital One credit card has been
downloading.

In
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/common/networkstatus.aspx
there is an item that says
=============================================================
Check the status of an account in MSN Money

To check the status of an account that you currently track in MSN
Money's My Accounts, go to the Account Status page.
<https://moneycentral.msn.com/banking/accounts/pss/accounts.asp>

Sign in using the same Passport Network credentials that you use for
My Accounts.

The status provided for each account includes:

Date and time of the last update
Number of transactions
An option to change your bank or brokerage sign-in information, if
needed
Error codes

======================================================================
I would try that to see if the account shows as set up there.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904336/en-us tells about error
codes.

That is your problem, Capital One no longer supports credit card downloads
in Money. You can download banking and loan accounts. I found the info on
the Capital One web site but I can not remember where exactly.

I don't use Capital One, but I think it is supposed to be supported
for download into Microsoft Money via Yodlee.
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankDetails.aspx?guid=131317&type=0

I expect Capital One is not directly supporting that themselves.

Many credit cards do support direct direct (OFX) downloads into
Microsoft Money.

Cal,

Cap One is no longer using Yoodle for the credit cards just loans and
banking. You can download credit cards from their website ONLY.

I believe Capital One uses Yodlee. As I stated earlier, I had no problem
updating my account, but my wife's will not update.

When I attempted to update it in MoneyCentral, I received this error message:

We're sorry but we were unable to complete the action you were performing
due to technical problems. If you continue to encounter this message please
use the link below to technical support.

The account listing in MoneyCentral shows "update unsuccessful", just like
in Money.

When I went to update Cap One after the upgrade I was redirected to CAp
One's web site were it stated that they no longer update CC. I am going to
try to set online services on mine again. I will let you know if it works.
Maybe they had a few days where it wasn't upgraded yet.

Steve,

I am an idiot. I got it to work. I wonder if by accident I chose Cap One
Banking the first time. Go to your account list in Money. On the left hand
side of the page, use that add account toggle. That is the way I tried and
it went through right away. Let me know if you get it to work.

Cindy:

I set up the new account this morning and it worked -- everything is fixed.

Thanks to you and Carl for the help!
