    - Updating securities causes freeze-up Most of the time when I update securities MSMoney hangs. When I use Task Manager to end it, it gives me a message that the program is waiting for some input from me. If it is a scheduled update that hangs, I can still try to do a manual update which may or may not work. I have deselected all old/unused securities from the update process. If I use the Internet for anything else while it is sending/receiving it will hang. Sometimes it will work if, after restarting MSMoney, I stop the MIS.exe and Mnyschdl.exe services. If I don't stop them it never works. I am using Money 2002 OEM (Came with a Dell) on XP Home with 256mg of RAM. I've had this problem for a long time-- I've put up with it because my data doesn't transfer to on DSL and Cable modem connections. Thanks for any help, in advance.     - Any way to automatically distribute 401(k) contrib to each fund? I set up Money 2004 to record my wife's paycheck, including the portion that is put into her 401(k). To keep track of the 401(k), I split that amount out into each mutual fund in the account. My question is this: do I have to manually split the 401 (k) money up every time or is there a way I can tell Money to put 15% in this fund, 20% in that fund, etc., and have it done automagically?     - ING Direct Online Services w/ Money 2004 Standard on XP I have an OEM version of Money 2004 standard edition on my laptop. I recently opened an ING savings account and tried to set up web services. It shows that they have direct download services to money. However, when I try to set up web services, it asks for a userid and password before it can connect. ING only gives me a customer number and a PIN number. These don't work on trying to start up online services. Calling ING, they say the customer number and PIN are what I should be using. Playing with it in Money, if I leave the password blank and fill in my customer number, it asks for a userid and password. If I put in an all number pin which mine may be, it says the password may not contain numeric characters. If I put in an all letter pin, it says your password cannot contain alphabetic characters.     - microsoft money I have installed microsoft money and cannot print it without starting with the last page first. Even entering information and checking a report shows it with A on the bottom and Z items on the top. I have had an occasion when it reversed itself to the proper position but that quickly reverted to a back-assword report. What is happening?     - Online Bank Statement Transactions do not show up I have Money 2003 and I have been downloading my transaction from my Bank and Credit Card Company. Recently downloaded activity and cannot see the downloaded transactions in the transaction registry.     - Unmatching transactions The help is weird. This is something I've often had a problem with. Money doens't match up a transaction that d/l from the bank. I change and choose the one to match it with and it's gray. It says see help... "Unmatch transactions in a bank or credit card account 1.. In the account register , click the transaction you want to unmatch, and then click Change . 2.. Do one of the following: a.. To keep the bank item as a separate transaction in your register, click Don't match these transactions . b.. To match the bank item to something else in your register, click Match the bank transaction to a different item , and select the check box or check boxes for the register items you want to match to the bank item. If the transaction you want to match it to is dimmed, it has been matched to another item. You will have to unmatch that transaction before you can select it. 3.. Click Done . " Notice the last paragraph. And this is supposed to tell us how to do just that!!! Catch 22 I guess is in full force. Anyone know how to make this work?     - Current Month Report When selecting 'January 2004' the system calculates, displays a message that Micosoft Money has encountered an error, then completely exits from Money.     - Using money on another computer I am using Microsoft Money 2003 D&B. I have my computer networked with my secretaries computer. I want her to pay my bills on her computer. I tried installing money 2003 on her computer (after uninstalling on mine) and it appeared to install properly but when I try and start it using the desktop icon that was installed it pops on and then off with no error message. I use Windows 98 on her computer as there are some old programs I use that only work on that operating system. Any solutions or suggestions. Also is there anyway to use this program over the network so that it can be installed on 1 machine and used on either one. For instance I would like her to pay the biills bu tI would like to generate and review reports on mine. Would I have to buy 2 programs to mak ethis work.     - currency conversion of investment In Money 2004 Canadian addition I tried to enter a purchase of US stocks. After much trial and error I discovered I had to enter the price in Canadian dollars and let Money convert it automatically back to US dollars. But now the transaction is recorded as being far less than the actual purchase amount which gives me an immediate large gain showing which is incorrect. All other aspects of the transaction and its display seem to be working. I can find no instructions on how to work with investements demoninated in foriegn currencies.     - Tax Estimator and Schedule E As I can setup tax lines and groups for my categories: e.g., Create Property XXXX with sub-line: Rental Income and then make the "Rental Income" hit tax line Schedule E, line: Rents Received, Form Copy 1 and put the Group as "Rental Income". On Tax Software Report, it shows up correctly. On Tax Estimator, it does not show up at all. One Note: If I try to add to the "Other Income" it can find (becuase I can search by category) Rental Income and if I try to add it it will switch it's tax line on me. What kind of Tax Estimator can't factor in Schedule E's main line? And why can't I set up a new category to tie to Depreciation on Schedule E?     - Money 2004 Trial Import issue Microsoft Money is not recognizing data imports from the month of sept, 2003. The application is inverting the date and any date with a DAY less than 12 is brought into the system with day = month. Any transaction with a date greater than 12th day of month is not recognized and errors are provided. Changed regional settings on computer to US-MM/DD/YYYY format to see if this would resolve, but same error occurs. It is important to note that all other transactions from August 2003-January 2004 have been imported successfully with correct date. The other important point to note is that I have downloaded the "Trial" version, so I cannot log a bug or get Microsoft to identify or validate this as a bug.     - Money 2004 Setup I am trying to setup Money 2004, during the install process it asks me what languange, and gives me about a half dozen choices, including Singapore, Ireland, Hong Kong, and other odd choices, but no USA English. I have to choose one of them. I select 'Other'. Then on account setup, I only given about 8 financial institutions, all either Spanish or South Americans.     - "Date" column right-justified? WinXP-Money2002 Standard OEM-minimalist user Hi: Often using Reports my "Date" column becomes justified to the right (including the word Date) and mashes up against the Payee column where it stays locked. Tried adjusting column widths etc., doesn't help--in fact, using this feature is one of the causes of the problem. Also, Income categories and Expense categories invert, so that all of my income appears at the bottom of the report. Tried clicking arrows in headings but that only affects the individual transactions. These things seem to happen randomly and I've yet to discover what I am doing to cause it.     - Microsoft Money 2004 Balance Error When I change a CREDIT CARD account from "sorted by date (Increasing)" to "sorted by date (Decreasing)" the balance display messes up (try it, the math doesn't make any sense, create a credit card with 0 opening balance, and creater 3 transacations of $50, the math just doesn't make sense).     - Problems sync to MSN I have my MSMoney 2004 Deluxe set up properly to sync to MSN. After sync with MSN, I continually have two accounts that show up with entries to be acknowledged. The same few transactions show up every time as new, regardless of how many times I 'Accept' them in MSMoney and resync to MSN. Additionally, one of these is a duplicate - shows up twice when reviewing the account details in MSN, shows up once on the provider's site. I've updated the account in MSN, same results. Not a real problem, but annoying enough that I might turn off MSN Sync...I get all the MSN-based portfolio updates and tools even if I don't sync with MSN, right? Any thoughts? Since 1/14/04, whenever I try to update the prices in my
portfolio, I get a successful update, but the prices and
the "Last Updated' date has not changed.

I did all the Money updates to make sure I wasn't missing
anything new...but no luck.

Has anyone else noticed this problem ???

Yes, I started have this problem also.

None of my stock/index prices will update.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled; it updated the first time, but thats it.

It could have something to do with the MSN webservers that host the data.
