Reposted for clarity:

Some of my stocks in my portfolio do not update prices throughout the day.
Some do (ARTC, IWM, and IVV), but most do not, including (ORCL, TWX, CSCO,
T, GE, MRK, HD, WMT, QCOM, MHS, EFA, EEM, DIA, SPY, SW2XX, ABALX, QVGIX,
SLMCX, AGTHX, SSRAX)

For instance, at 7PM, when I look at my portfolio, most of the stocks list
the days gain as unch, and still list yesterday's closing price (which
didn't
update until sometime late the night before). For those stocks, I never
have
a day's gain listed, because when the price finally updates, it's a new
day!!

Strange but true...any suggestions?

I am also having another problem....my Etrade account update seems to be
stuck and I can't force an update due to an error message (seperate post).

Thanks,
Dave

I've corrected my ETrade update stuck by cont-alt-del and closing money
processes that were still running for some reason.

I am still experiencing the stock price update issue...tinkering, but no
luck yet...

What version of Money, or are you using the Portfolio on the MSN Money
website?
Is it only automatic price updating that is not working? In other words if
you do an Update Prices Now, will they update?

Note: Mutual funds won't update until a few hours after market close, after
the respective fund managers have computed the new NAVs.

Did it work previously? If so, what's changed since then?

I am using MS Money 2006 Premium. Ver. 15.0.125.513.

I am using the Portfolio Manager within MS Money, although I do look at the
portfolio on the MSN Money website occasionally (though I make no
transactions via the MSN Website).

It is only the automatic price updating that is not working on most stocks.
Everything else seems to be working fine, including the automatic updating
of ARTC, IWM, and IVV. I understand that the Mutual Funds (those symbols
ending in X) will not update until a few hours after market close, but I
can't seem to get the rest of my stocks to update throughout the day.

As an example, it is now 5PM, since I have been home from work, I have
manually pushed two price updates and my Read Call Summary Messages reports
that a successful Quotes, News, and Exchange Rates update at 4:43PM 5/17/06.
However, my ATT stock in my Portfolio lists the Last Price as 25.77 and the
daily gain as unch....even though ATT closed down .67 today at 25.10...all
the other stocks listed below exhibit the same symptoms.

hmmmm.....

A couple of suggestions:

1. Add the "Last Update" column in the Portfolio Manager to verify the
date/time of the last update.
2. Try creating a new Money file and add those investments and see if they
update in the new file.

Creating a new money file...all stocks appear to update correctly.

Adding the Last Update column confirms that my problem stocks haven't
updated since 4/24/06 for some reason.

Now for the tricky part....I don't want to reenter years of purchases,
dividends, etc....how do I recover? Should I export to .qif ...delete, and
then try to renter the investments?

Thanks for your help thus far...

Check Portfolio->UpdatePrices->PickQuotesToDownload

Don't give up on the old file yet.

Also consider
File->RepairMoneyFile->QuickFileRepair
and
File->RepairMoneyFile->StandardFileRepair

if the other things don't do it.

Boy do I feel foolish....Update Prices->Pick Quotes to Download....I only
had those few that were downloading checked...duh!! Live and learn....thank
you for that info...although I've never seen that box before, so I don't
know how the others all got unchecked...but all is well.....for now.

Thanks again Cal and Mark !!
