In Money 2006 when I go to Portfolio Manager I get a header bar at the
top that looks good but the content window is just a couple of gray
regions. I've searched and see others reporting the problem as far back
as 2004, but haven't seen any answers. I've verified that if I go to
moneycentral.com and get into the Portfolio that way (I See the
Chart!). I get the same gray page.

I've read the article on how to uninstall MSN Investor Toolbox but none
of the steps apply to my situation. It says to use Add/Remove to remove
MSN Investor Toolbox, but that isn't showing up on the list. It has me
look for various OCXs, none of which are on the system. I suspect the
uninstall article may be out of date, but I don't really know.

How do I well and mightily get MSN Investor off the system so I can
install it clean (beyond doing an FDISK)

Thanks.

I was hopeful the new moneycentral update was going to fix this. I do
see a change. Now I see a blank white screen instead of a blank gray
screen. I have a gray vertical box along the left edge under the
Enlarge/reduce portfolio control. If I hover over the gray region the
pointer changes to a hand icon (for clicking links) and the main part
of the screen is just blank white. If I click around in the gray region
nothing happens.

When I go to the download page
(http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/controls/cabx.asp) I see the "I
See the Chart". If I click I don't see the chart the chart just
immediately redisplays; I don't get fresh bits.

Can someone tell me exactly how to uninstall all moneycentral
(http://moneycentral.msn.com/stock_portfolio) downloaded components so
I can start fresh. The help docs I find say to use Add/Remove Programs.
That's not working because I can't find an uninstaller for this
program. I am a systems admin so I'm comfortable working in the
registry, etc. If someone could provide a list of the DLLs, OCXs, etc
and registry entries that need to be removed I could manually uninstall
this thing so I can start fresh.

Thanks.

Oh, one more thing I'd throw out there. In the Add/Remove programs, the
only item I see that seems remotely related to Moneycentral is
"Microsoft Money 2006". I do use Money 2006. I know that's tied into
moneycentral for some features. Specificially the Portfolio Manager in
Money is no longer working. Would uninstalling/reinstalling Money 2006
be useful? If so, am I right in thinking I just need to preserve my
current .MNY file to preserve my data? Thanks.

You might want to grab at leas check printing alignment settings. They are
about the only think I can think of that's not in the file that's also not
pretty obvious a setting you'd want to change when you recheck them after
reinstallation.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am having the same problem.
MS Money support can not solve the problem either. Thank you.

Yes. I formatted the drive and installed a new copy of Windows XP and
Money 2006. Restored my data from a backup and now everything is
working great. The extreme solution to be sure, but one almost
guaranteed to work every time.
