    - 30 MONEY back guatantee for Money 04 I wanted to pass a little note to remind everyone, and most of you may know this, that Money 04 does offer a 30 money back guarantee. I believe that most of the other versions offered this as well. I took this option yesterday with Best Buy after not being impressed with Money 04. I know it had some new options, but nothing worth the money it costs. Heck, even an icon change would have been nice. When I took it back to Best Buy the guy was not going to let me return it because of the "open software" policy, which I do support, however I pointed to the logo on the back of the box and he was amazed and refunded my money.     - Sign-in error Money 2002 has been working fine until recently. When signing on with my .Net Passport keep getting 2 error messages... "Money is unable to verify your online sign-in. Money will now try to log you in using Work Offline sign-in. Some online features, such as background banking, will be unavailable possibly because of network problems. To use online features, please close Money and try to sign again later." After clicking okay on that message, I get another error message... "The sign-in attempt for < > was unsuccessful. Please try your sign in name and password again." Everything has been working fine in the past and this problem has only begun recently. I am using Norton Internet Security, but the only real restriction pertaining to Money 2002 will be the Advertisements. Still, it was working two weeks ago the same as it was 6 months ago and as far as I know, is configured the same way today. I am employed by my ISP, no problems there. I usually find problems like this are caused by an update, any ideas or fixes known? My .Net pastport is functional and works everywhere else just fine like it has for at least a year or more...     - is M04 salv different than M03 salv; If not M04 is corrupting M03 files Does the salv utility in M04 detect and fix things that the M03 salv utility doesn't? Here is the situation: Existing M03 file passes level 1 and level 2 salv without any problems. Convert that file to M04. Run salv on the converted M04 file and there are all kinds of errors.     - spending thermometer Is it just me? It appears that no matter what options I check off or on, I cannot get the spending limit thermometer to appear in the account register.     - investment history I am trialing money 2003; I've never had any package prior to this. I started out by entering the current valuation of my investments but I'd like to see how each has performed across the many years I've held them. (Some as many as 20 years). I don't want to enter every transaction over the 20 years but if I know the original shares & cost & purchase date could I enter that instead of what I did enter and then do an online update to get the current value ? Would I then have enough information to see performance or do I have to enter all additional purchases & the price at that time and all dividends which were reinvested to get a true picture?     - Money 2004 unable to change to Canadian settings Just installed and reinstalled few times Money 2004 under different Regional settings in Windows XP Home. Everything works except changing settings from default US currency to Canadian settings. Thus I can't setup my online banking as my banks in Canada are not recognized. I followed to the letter instruction how to change currency settings several times with no luck. I had exactly same problem with Money 2002 and this why I used Quicken instead.     - MSN Bill Pay questions I am using M2003 with Bank One BillPay which costs me $5/mo. 1 year of free MSN Bill Pay (with M2004) sounds tempting. Bank One uses Checkfree on it's back end. I'm generally very happy with the service. For parties that accept electronic transfers, Bank One deducts the $$ from my account on the due date. For other vendors, they write them a paper check from their own account and again deduct the $$ from my account on the due date. In every case, my account sees the $$ taken away on the due date.. everything is very predictable. Is that how MSN Bill pay work? When do $$ get removed from my account (for electronic transfer and paper check payments)? Do I require to link my M2004 file to a Passport account to use MSN BillPay?     - Money 2002 I have recently switched computers and am having a couple issues with Money 2002. The 1st issue is that when I am opening Money I get an error "operation cannot be performed". When I click on OK I seem to be able to do everything I want. I originally had that problem when clicking on Bills & Deposits but when we reinstalled that was fixed but it seemed to have moved.     - Canadian Money version ok for small business?? I am switching from Mac OS X to XP and I have to choose an app for my small business accounting. I have been using MYOB but I really don't need the features of a full- fledged accounting program - just a small (2 employee) payroll, AR/AP and basic reports. No inventory, etc. Quicken XP seems ready to be used in this fashion, but I've been burned by Intuit in the past and don't necessarily want to give them more money. So I'm considering Money 2004 Canadian Edition. Can anyone out there reassure me about Money's ability to perform the tasks I need? I note that in the U.S. there is a separate edition for business use, but in Canada there isn't. Unfortunately, Microsoft does not provide an easy way to ask them the questions directly. I recently recieved a new Blue Anex card which gives me 2% cash back for 3 months. I have recently been out for meals with work colluges and the bill was £220. I paid for the whole bill but my actual spending was £40. So when i imput the figures my budget goes crazy and i also have 180 in cash.     - restoring from mo98 I have recently reloaded my pc with win2000 and money 98. I went to restore from my back up disk and the file type is .mbf not .myn which is what money is looking for. I had also backed up to my other HD and this also has a .mbf extention but is 5 times larger. I have tried to change the extention but money just tells me that the file is corrupt so I tried the same thing with the other backup and the same problem ( the file is currupt ) but i find it highly unlikly that both files are currupt. Also this doesnt explain the fact that both files have seemingly the wrong extention .mbf instead of .mny. Can any one help as I have 3 years of finacial info in these files.     - Mny2002, Credit cards Average I set to track detail transactions of credit cards, so the payment from bank is shown as transfer. Now I need to estimate how much average I spend on that card each month over past couple months, but I can't find such function.     - Moving investments from an old Money file to a new one I'm trying to create a new clean Money file because I'm getting the error message "A File needed to run the Planner is either missing or corrupted. To resolve this problem, reinstall Money and then reopen your Money file" Reinstalling doesn't help - I think Money has a basic flaw when moving from one country to another (I moved from the UK to the US) and you change the Base currency used. So - I thought... I can easily update my bank account details again, and I haven't used the advanced planning features in ages. So all I need to really transfer over are my investment portfolio. I did a Loose QIF export - but when I IMPORT them into the new file, it gets to a point where it asks me to choose an Investment - and wont show me anything in the list. I've read some other posts about this problem, but I haven't seen the answer, and I thought that if anyone in the Microsoft Universe ever bothers to read the newsgroups, they will hopefully see a recurring problem. Money tells me that my .net sign-in was unsuccessful. It's been this way for a week now. I've tried to change my .net info. When I go to the .net website, the sign-in works. When I try to tell Money to update my .net info or change my .net info, it tells me that I need to enable my browser to do cookies. But I have told my browser to accept all cookies, and it still doesn't work. Plus, cookies work on other sites.     - Have o buy a new Money prog & need some info Hi All - Microsoft Money 2000 - Windows ME About 3 weeks ago I lost access to my Microsoft Money program, it just will not open. When I click the desktop icon, I get nothing, no errors, just a short flash of the hourglass as it seems to try to open, then just.. zippo.. The fact that it is giving me the silent treatment, won't even argue with me, refuses to give me any clue as to why it just stopped working, is a real puzzle. If it would at least throw me an error message and tell me why, I might be able to find a way to make peace. But, the cold-shoulder treatment leaves me helpless to know what to do to resolve the problem. I have run a search for the CABS, and can find the ones that are supposed to reinstall it, but, it seems to refuse to recognize them (it), so there is no hope there either. I have to assume that for some reason, it has just suddenly passed away, and I will have to replace it. My question is, which more recent version of the Microsoft Money can I replace it with that will still work with my 2000 files. I only used it for storing my check register and those related records, thank goodness. I always backed my files up to a floppy and CD for safety, and did so right before the program bit the dust. When I download statements from one particular bank (from their website rather than directly in Money), charges & credits are reversed (i.e., the charges appear as credits and the credits appear as charges). When I try to match up the transactions, the downloaded item overwrites my Money entry. Is there any easy way to correct this reversal rather than manually editing each transaction ? 2. I installed Money for the Pocket PC onto my Toshiba e740 PDA. When I select the "Money" icon on the "Today" screen, I get an error titled "Shortcut Target" that says "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename". Money will run from the "Programs" menu; I 'unchecked' Money from the "Settings" menu, reset the PDA, and then subsequently re-checked the "Money" box but still get that error message.     - Money 2002 Deluxe Have been using Money 2002 for some time on my HP PC. Now, when the system Home Page is open, I can not access 'Portfolio'. Also, when 'performance by investment account or investment type' are opened under 'reports', only 'all accounts' can be opened and when I 'go to report' the report page appears to open, but the wording "loading" appears in the center of page and the system goes no farther to complete the page. Two quick questions; First is there a difference in Money (calculations, taxes, etc.) if you 1.) transfer out from a 'stock' to a 'cash' and then transfer in a 'stock' from the 'cash' or 2.) if you sell stock to cash, then buy stock from cash or 3.) transfer one 'stock' to another 'stock'?     - $2004 probably not worth the upgrade for $2003 users I stopped by a CompUSA yesterday and spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out if 2004 was worth the upgrade (I have 03). I finally decided it wasn't. The box is very vague about what's been upgraded. It DOES have a "Haven't upgraded Money in a while?" list, but nothing similar for 2003. The home page is now "dynamic" (which just seemed to mean you could read MSN Money articles on the homepage). Transaction matching has been changed in some way so it works "better". There's a credit area that gives you your credit score (with Equifax service, I assume) and some suggestions for managing your debt load. I didn't see much else. I think I understand why MS hasn't made any kind of deal out this. I think it's a VERY minor upgrade for '03 users and they didn't want to incur our wrath from a major campaign that talked us into shelling out $40 for nothing new. Looks like it's better suited for '02 and earlier versions. As it is, I'm waiting until there's a free trial on the webpage, '05 is released, or Sam's Club gets it for $15 after rebates (how I got '03). Hope that helps some of you decide.     - Gainskeeper and Money 2004 I saw a post that a year's subscription to http://www.gainskeeper.com is included with one of the Money 2004 versions. After going to the GainsKeeper site, apparently they don't allow you to import historical transactions into their system without those counting against a pre-set number of trades/year. Gainskeeper has two levels of subscription - oOne that allows 100 trades per year for $49.00 annually and another that offers 1000 trades per year for $149.00. In my money file I have over 2000 investment transactions dating back to 1995. From the looks of it, this would require me to sign up for the $149.00 service and pay an additional $198.00 for an extra 2 "trade buckets" of 500 trades apiece. This would just cover the entry of my historical data - not trades going forward for the year. Can anyone who has purchased Money 2004 and tried integrating with Gainskeeper confirm if this behavior is also true with the integration with Money?     - Money 2003 Deluxe not responding I am running Money 2003 with Windows xp. I am having a problem with the Bills and Deposits page. When I select a bill to be paid and then "Enter into Register" the first time the Bills and Deposits jumps to the last bill on the list instead of the next bill due. When I try to enter the next bill due the windows task manager jumps to 100% cpu usage and money stops responding. I had 256MB ram installed and recently added 256mb to make the total ram 512mb. Does anyone have any clue when an update/fix will be
posted for Pocket Money 2003. I bought a new Toshiba 355
with Pocket Pc 2003 and my new Money 2003 doesn't work
with my new PDA (The main reason I bought both). I called
support a month ago, and they said they would probably
post a new download within a couple weeks. Of course, no
download yet.
Am I going to have to buy yet another version of Money to
get it to work????
