    - ETF Investments - Need MSMoney Advice I have several ETF investments in my portfolio. Unfortunately there is no "ETF" investment type in MSMoney 2007. Those of you who have ETF investments: do you label them as mutual funds or stocks? The trouble with labeling them as stocks is that long-term and short-term capital gains are not permitted investment activities - and some ETFs have these. Tracking them in Money as mutual funds caused some other grief, which I forget. So three questions for all you MSMoney investment wizards out there: Do you find it easier to track your ETF investments as stocks or mutual funds? Why?     - Net Gains/Losses on Investments Incorrect in Money PLus I have the new Money Plus deluxe edition, and have noticed that in my investments, the Market Value - cost basis is not equalling the "net gain" column in my investment snapshot column, which I do not understand. It is not off by a little; in some cases it is by a lot. I do not own many stocks and funds but have no idea why this is off; t should be simple math. There were some dividends but that should just affect the cost basis of my stock, and in turn, that number would effect my gain or loss. Is anyone else noticing this problem?     - Redownloading purchased software. I purchased Microsoft Money 2007 about 6 months ago. When I moved recently my computer crashed on startup at my new house. After replacing the motherboard I had to rebuild from scratch. I originally downloaded the software. I have a new isp, hence new email address. I used my old email address as my Money login. My Passport login works OK for any other access, as the same Web Money UK, but no more from my own program on the Home PC.     - Not all Transactions Downloading - Money Plus Deluxe I have had a problem that has been reoccurring since I added the account to my file. What happens is that there are days that Money does not download transactions from Fidelity even though there are new transactions that are available for download. I can go and create a NEW money file and the transactions that did not download now download into this new money file so I assume the problem is with my current money file?? I have done both quick and standard repairs and neither seem to fix it. This is no rhyme or reason that I can find as to when transactions do not download. Any fix for this? Last thing that I want to do is start with a new Money file as I have multiple other accounts in this file and do not want to have to recategorize everything, set up budget again, etc..     - Budget summary bug(?) in MS Money 2006 I'm probably doing something wrong but I've tried everything to figure this one out and have gotten nowhere. I'm looking at the "Budget Summary" page under the budget section. I've created my budget and gone through and let Money automatically pick out some of my regular expenses. Everything appears to work okay except for the category "Bills:Mortgage Payment". Each month this generally consists of two separate withdrawals. The first is the payment on the primary 80% loan. I have the actual transaction set up to automatically split between the part of the payment that goes towards the mortgage and the part that goes towards property taxes (goes into an escrow account). The second transaction is for the second loan we took out and that transaction has the single category (not split). For some reason, the budget summary says that I've budgeted only the amount of the second loan payment - it doesn't include the first loan payment.     - Help with Money Plus Deluxe I'm trying to use Money Plus Deluxe on a Dell Inspiron 350 running 32-bit Vista Home Premium. I keep getting the error message "Your current security settings do not allow that file to download." when I try to open my accounts list, bills, anything except for online pages. I can see the online Investment Center and I can see a list of my investment under My Portfolio, but I get the error message when I try to update any investment. I also get Alerts that I have bills due/overdue, but can't open anything to PAY them. It looks like the data is there, Money just won't let me use it. (I have ownership of the data file as the account I'm trying to work from and am trying to work from the Admin account at this point.) I loaded Money from the Admin login, with all Norton security turned off. (3 times now) Before the third try, I not only uninstalled and rebooted, but then went into regedit and removed all the Money references I could find, shut down, and then restarted and re-installed.     - Investment Summary - Uncorrectable Error? I have run into this before but I was usually able to resolve it. I cannot seem to do it this time in Money Plus Deluxe. I welcome any assistance. Here is the situationn: 1. I owned two mutual funds that trade in up to four decimals, e.g. 12.3456. These were in two accounts. 2. I decided I wanted to sell out of these in both accounts and did so. 3. Before I entered the sales, I balanced both accounts down to the four digit decimal. 4. I then entered the sales for the exact quantities I had balanced to earlier. This left a zero quantity for each in both accounts. 5. I expected to see both securities removed from the Inverstment Summary on the main page. They were still there. 6. I figured that there might be some rounding issue despite what I had done above. I went into each account for each security and attempted to do a "Remove shares" for .00001. I recieved a message that I did not have enough shares to do so. OK - I'm stumped. Do I need to keep these two securities that I no longer care about in my Investment Summary forever? Or is there a way to remove them? Please don't tell me to do a "Delete security from all accounts". I tried this and, although it did remove them from the Investment Summary, it also removed them from valuations for the current year as they were no longer shown in my Year-end for 2006.     - Can Money track Futures? I have a Forex account setup as an investment account. Since Money (Deluxe v17) can't handle Forex, I just enter in a cash amount each week as an Invesetment loss/gain for Forex. The bad part is that I can't run reports against this account and so don't know the return on it. Instead of entering in a cash amount each week, should I just choose a random currency and enter it that way instead. This lets the investment side of the account have entries and show returns in a report. At least it seems it would. Will Futures have the same problems as Forex in Money?     - Money Plus Deluxe trial lie I installed the trial version of Money Plus to see if it would fix a calculation error in Money 2007. I read the website and it states you can choose not to uninstall the previous version, but you would lose change made in Money Plus. I am trying to start Money 2007 per the instructions and choosing to load a previously saved backup. It is telling me I cannot, and must install Money Plus. This is in direct contradiction to the following statements from the trial wbesite. "The first time you run Money Plus Deluxe Trial, your existing Money file will be upgraded and backed up. The backup file can be used with your earlier version of Money. To do so: Launch your older version of Money from the Start Menu. Click Open on the File menu, and browse to the backup file. " I will try to re-install, but beware if you try the free trial. You may have to go to Quicken.     - Money 2007 calculation error I am updating a 401(k) account with manula entry. All of my contributions are in, and I am updating the purchases. When I put the amount of shares as 5.4952 and the price as 4.14, Money returns a calculated value of .23. The correct value should be 22.75. I can adjust by moving either decimal 2 places, but that would be innaccurate. I even tried loading the trial version of Money Deluxe and the calculation error persists. I have two other 401(k) accounts that do not have this calculation error. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this error?     - Loan principal amounts in income and expense reports Is there a way to get a loan principal transfer to appear as an expense in an income and expense report (similar to the loan interest expense)? Technically I suppose this is really a balance sheet transfer not an expense, but since my life operates on a cash not accrual basis, to me the interest + principal is effectively an expense.     - Re-invested dividends are duplicated In my sharebuilder account within MS Money, everytime I make a dividend and have it automatically re-invested, Money doesn't remove the value from the cash transactions.     - money 2001 I have been using Money 2001 successfully for 7 years. No problems. I buy a new computer with Visa Premium, and install 2001 on it. Again, no problems installing it or setting it up. After 2-3 mths with no problems, now all of a sudden I can't even access the program. Clicking on the icon or .exe just gives me a brief "thinking" cursor and then nothing.     - Cancel stock split In trying to use Cal Lerner's technique to record a Mutual Fund merger, I incorrectly entered the NAV exchange values for the split. I think I had them backward. both of them allow me to login to money.msn.com but will not allow me to

Is this Microsoft's way of trying to force us 2004 users to upgrade?
