    - Sync problems I have a HP-2210 Ipaq runing pc 2003. Activesync 3.7.1 and Microsoft Money standard 2004. When I try to check the box under options in Activesync it tells me that Money is not installed and it is . So it will not let me sync pocket money and desk top money. mab Tag: PASSWORD Tag: 156623

    - Online Corruption Since Tuesday every time I update my Money 2004 file it becomes corrupt. I have tried everything trying to fix the problem. Below are just a few of the steps: 1. Restore file from backup. 2. Run Salvage to make sure it clean/fixed (says file is ok), delete all files from Internet Explorer 3. Open Money file 4. Browse accounts... all work fine (no transactions to approve) 5. Update file online 6. Once complete , click ok and it takes me to the Account List 7. As soon as Account List updates with the accounts that have transactions that need approved I get an error that requires a restart 8. Salvage file again and fix errors, delete all files from Internet Explorer 9. Open fixed Money file 10. Look at Account Lists, shows number of transactions that need approved 11. Go to account to approve transactions and none there to approve 12. Go back to Account List and account still says there are transactions to approve. What could be going on?     - Account Summary stopped update in Money 2000 In my Investment account, a detail transaction dated 11/26/2003 has a thick underline. Since that date, any new detail transactions will not update Account summary. I download and run Salv.exe 3 times against my data file. They all successfully completed with a log "Warning: broken records in BGT_ITM table". When I open Money again, the same problem is still there. I'd appreciate if anyone can give a help.     - Money 2002 I sold off an investement and am trying to "sell" it down to zero quantity and am getting the following error: "The changes you are making will cause the share balance for 'LargeCap' to become negative at some point. Please arrange your transactions to avoid this." There are 1180.375 shares. It lets me sell 1099.00 but no more?! There are 81.375 left and I can't get rid of that quantity.     - Money 2004 Upgrade Problem I've been using Money 2003 small business. When I put in Money 2004 Standard it converted my files to 2004. I want the full small business functionality but now cannot open my files in 2003. The error reads: "Money cannot locate '(file name)' or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file or you do not have permission to change it or your disk drive is write protected." I know the file is not read-only and is not open in another program. I also have the permission to change files on my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do?     - MS Money 2002 Cash Flow When I enter a new checking account as a business account it does not show the cash flow effect on the graph in the transaction window when I enter transactions. If I transfer the account to personal the cash flow shows up. It has the same effect in the cash flow forecast window - the business accounts dont show up - only the personal.     - Money 2004 causes XP Pro bugs Immediately following installation of Money 2004 on my machine running under Windows XP Pro, and with or without Money 2004 program running, the following Windows bugs occurred: 1) Under >> Start >> Search (When Search is run under the Start button nothing is happening, the Search function no longer works. 2) In Outlook express when I select a Hyperlink (Internet link) from any mail received, Outlook Express application freeze and return to action after 30 seconds, without activating the Internet hyperlink. 3) In Internet Explorer, on some internet pages when a link is selected the computers is terribly slow to go to the selected link. All the above bugs are going away as soon as Money 2004 in uninstalled and reappear as soon as I re-installed Money 2004. Money 2004 do not have to be runnig in order to observe these bugs.     - Downloaded transactions assigned incorrect payee Money 2003 Delux is auto-assigning the wrong payee to transactions that are downloaded from my bank. Money is using the last payee in the list (prior to downloading new transactions) and assigning that payee to all new transactions.     - M02 w/XP in USA; credit card acct balancing, with no new charges We use no internet services, enter each transaction into the account the goods were purchased, splitting the items into catergories as desired. I balance all accounts with the monthly statements. each month an amount is automatically paid to this credit card account that gets no new purchases.     - Changing Sign-in Name on Opening Screen I recently changed my Passport account to reflect my new email address. When opening Money 2004, it still fills in my old email address as my sign-in name. In Password Manager, it shows Passport emabled for my new ID correctly (my new email address).     - Net Worth Sorry if this is a repeat, but I got an error message with my last post. In short, my MSMONEY 2000 adds my assets and liabilities instead of subtracting the liabilities to calculate my net worth. So if my assets total $10,000 and my liabilities are $3,000.00, it calculates my net worth as $13,000 instead of $7,000.00. Is this a glich or am I a financial idiot? can this be fix?     - Does the New Worth Report have a fault When I calculate my new worth in MS Money 2000 (old version I know) it adds my assets and liabilities instead of subtracting them. For example, if my savings, checking, investments total $10,000.00 and my liabilities total $5000.00, MS Money calculates my net worth as $15,000.00. Shouldn't my net worth be $5,000.00?     - Reading Statement - Reconcilation process I started using Money 2000 and can now download statement from my bank (Barclays). The problem is that for most transactions I have to go and manually set the category and/or subcategory because Payee name is dowloadded with a reference number.     - I don't like being required to have a Passport to use "Background Banking" Is there some way to do "Bacground Banking" without a Passport? How about removing this requirement for this feature (BUG), like in previous versions of Money? I don't trust Microsoft using a Passport to save all my passwords online and out of my control. I don't like or trust Passport at all. I see no need to have to require me to use a Passport when this feature worked just fine in previous versions without it. I am able to manually update Money by clicking the "Internet Update/Update Now" option, but it was nice to have this done automatically when I opened MsMoney. If Microsoft continues in this fashion and requires Passport for even more features to work, then I will either have to go back to a previous version of Money, which doesn't expire, or switch to another program like Quicken, Emma, GnuCash, jGnash or QHacc.     - Can I control the time of Internet updates? I have certain of my credit cards to update once a day, and I noticed it seems to do that right around midnight. I suspect one of the cards has their systems doing something then, as the update for that one always fails. But when I do another update in the morning or any other time, it succeeds.     - need help with budget in Money 2002 I am having a problem with the budget tool in Money 2002. When I set up a savings goal it won't let me put all my extra income into the savings goal. It says I don't have enough. For example if my income is $5000 per month and my expenses are $3000 per month I should have $2000 per month to spend or save.     - Petty (and unnecessary) Money annoyances Adding an index to watch is unnecessarily hard. Worse, why the fixed list?!?!?!? So if I want to add one that's not in that list, I effectively have to waste one of those by renaming it and changing its symbol? To what end? Why not just let me add one?!? You can't add an investment without associating it with an account and, unless you put it in the watch account, you have no choice but to create the investment with a buy or with shares. Why? Why not just let me define one? Maybe I'll buy it next week. And I guess I never really appreciated how incredibly tenacious Money is not only about a symbol for a deleted investment--even if it has NO transaction activity associated with it--but about the name as well. You not only have to delete the symbol, but you have to mangle the name and, I'm guessing, you'll still be carrying this utterly useless data with the data file 10 years from now. Why, oh why????? My portfolio is linked to my checking account and everytime I buy or sell a stock the money goes into or out of my checking account. When viewing my 'Manage scheduled bills and deposits' the 'Last Paid' column does not always reflect the last payment date, it sometimes shows the one before last.     - Balancing credit cards...really any accounts I notice this whenever I balance my accounts, particularly the credit card accounts. Whenever I get done reconciling I am prompted to adjust the beginning balance for equal amounts positive and negative. Why is that? I could see having to do this one time, but I don't understand why it is every single time without fail. I've looked at the help files in my Money 2002 Standard and just don't see a whole lot that is useful. During the month, I may write and record payments to the credit card before the statement comes (expense reimbursement management).     - Can I make Money Multiuser Hi I have a site that I support that uses MS Money 2000. I know that they had the scenario that they could open a money file at the same time on a few PCs. They have purchased 5 licences. Money was reinstalled on one PC and now when you try to open the file when it is open on another PC money will say that the file is corrupted and can't be fixed.     - Any Slower and I'll Fall Asleep I've been working in Money 2002 for several years. It's getting slower and slower. 10 - 20 seconds of the "hourglass" to record a payment? 30 seconds to accept a new downloaded transaction? Some entries take over 60 seconds! I might as well go back to the pencil and checkbook method! I have 851 MHz with 30 GB hard drive. I defrag once a month... It doesn't help. The most recent defrag exercise tells me I have almost 50% of the hard drive still available. I recently added 256MB to the original 128MB of RAM...no improvement. I had a problem like this a few weeks back. For some reason I couldn't sign
on to money for about a day, but had no problem going online for email etc..
Turns out there was some sort of network problem. Hubby had problems with
connecting to his office. Next day everything was fine. Hope this helps!
