Cannot enter password with special characters - Freemont Funds
I am using Money 2002 to access mutual fund accounts. Fidelity works
just fine. For Freemont Funds, they require a special character as
part of any password. However, the Money software will not allow a
special character in the password field.
Anyone have a solution for this?

again attractive, so I bought it. Money 2002 has resurrected all my old
information for this security and using this information to show ROI. I want

Setting Up Interest Only Mortgage Payments
Anybody have any idea how you could set up a mortgage
account in Money 2004 Deluxe for a 5 year adjustable rate
mortgage making interest only payments for the first five
years?

I was running money 2000 without a problem. I installed 2003 money and it
comes up without my data. The shortcut to money 2000 disappeared--I found
backup and was able to get to the data by clicking on backup restore so I

Backup
I have Money 2004 Standard Edition. My file is now 2 yrs
old and has a lot of data. It now asks for a second flopy
disk to save a backup.
I would like to save to a CD or DVD and keep it updated
with changes saved each time I close "Money" (just like
it does when backing up to a flopy).
I can't figure out how to save the file or "backup" the
file to one of those media without the file closing. I
thought maybe I needed to format a CD or DVD to keep the
recording session open to backup to each time I
use "Money".
My computer has "Drag N Drop" CD/DVD burning software and
I can't find a way to keep the session open for multi
recordings or "backups".
I was hoping to change the backup location in "Money" to
a CD/DVD drive, but I don't see that option. Can anyone

Money 2004 SB displays wrong balances
Money 2004 SB shows my total accounts balance as 459
Trillion dollars (yes...trillion). When I look at the
register for my checking, savings and accounts receivable

number is coming from.

Balancing Savings Account
I have Money 2004 and have been using money for years. Over the past
several versions, I have noticed that when I go to balance a Savings account
that earns interest, the system freezes on me if I enter the Interest amount
in the Balance Wizard at the begining. I have to leave it blank then
postpone the balance and when I start to balance again, it lets me put an
interest amount in the wizard. What can I do to resolve this? This was

I want to customize my portfolio so that I can assign

Money 2000 causes 100% CPU Usage
Running MS Money 2000 on a recent IBM ThinkPad with
Windows 2000. When working in .mny file (size ~5MB), CPU
usage frequently goes up to 100%, goes down occassionally,
but is generally very high. Any browsing within .mny
file, new entries, even mouse movements cause the CPU
usage to shoot up. System behaves normally otherwise, is
new and well-guarded (no infections, no ad-/spyware,
etc.) Same behaviour also occurred on different, somewhat
older ThinkPad. Anybody having the same problem or any

Online Password Problem
Running Money 2004. When I connect to my
accounts I reach the window which says
"Enter Online Password". I enter my
password & download the data. I
do not check the box that says
" Store password in Money". When I
download again the password is already

I recently installed Microsoft Money 2003 on my laptop.
I went through and did the prelimanaries of adding a few
accounts, checking, savings, etc. Now when I open Money
it asks me for a password. Is this my Microsoft .net
password? I don't recall entering a password during
setup. I did verify my .net password and it works for me
to log into hotmail. Why doesn't it work to log into
money? I continue to get the message password in

Money 2004 SB: Dimensions of logo on invoices
I'm a graphic designer, and I've created a logo for my
friend's business. He uses Microsoft Money 2004 Small
Business. I don't have access to the program and he can't
find information that tells him or me what the pixel
dimensions should be for his company's logo. He is using
one of the pre-set templates.
I've sent him one logo file (.JPG) that was 400 pixels
wide by 44 pixels tall, and Money squished the logo
horizontally. I can play games and guess, but I'd really
like to know the exact dimensions I have to play with.
I've looked in Microsoft's online help screens to no avail.

Money 2004 desktop and Pocket PC discrepency
I have been using MS Money for Pocket PC and it has been
working great until recently. There is a discrepancy
between my desktop and my Pocket PC for the balances of
two accounts.
The differences are both equal to the amounts of two
transactions in the account register. I entered them
separately, but they showed up as part of the same
transaction in the electonic statement (one was a deposit
and the other was a transfer from check to a cash
account).
The desktop version of Money let me match the two
transactions to the same electronic transaction. Money
for the Pocket PC seems confused by this and seems to
count both transactions twice.
Can anyone help?

Any Experience with Bank One Online Bill Pay?
I just signed up for Bank One Online Bill Pay, after hearing that a
recent service upgrade allowed much tighter integration with MS Money
and other finance softwares. However, when I try to set up my account
for making an electronic payment and get the set up online provider
screen, I am met with only two choices: MSN Bill Pay or CheckFree
(existing customers only). Does anyone know how I can use Bank One's
online bill payment with MS Money? Preferably, I'd like to be able to
receive the e-bills and other features. I hope that this is not only
available to MSN Bill Pay.

just learned about this. The new exciting online payment system made
impossible sending epay to a payee who already has another pending online
payment.
Which means, for instance, that it's impossible to send an extra principal
mortgage payment if the regular payment is scheduled as Apay. The new

Download Transaction Do Not download
Money 2004 for 6 mos, a user since 10 yrs on other versions., good software,
download all banking 3 different banks over this time, all of a sudden
cannot download, see the download dialog box flick, but nothing. No software
added except XP updates. Use SpyBot SD but did before. Probably has been
like this for a week or so but now at month end I paid attention and cannot
get going.
Ideas, Is it me or did something change in the world that I missed. Oh yes
Cdn Banks.

After opening and updating I get an error message that
money has to shut down. After i update again the downloads

Downloaded Transactions Don't Show Up
I'm using MsMoney 2004.
I download the transactions from my bank, and this has been working up
until now. Even though it says the transactions have downloaded, I don't
see any transactions past April 30.
I have cleared out my temporary internet files and started money with the
'-s' parameter. Still no happiness.
I have also tried creating a brand new money file with only this account
added and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions please?

Transaction View (Deposits vs Debits)
How do I get my deposits to list before my debits while
in the register (when both are done on the same day).
I've upgraded to 2004 standard in hopes that this would
fix this.

After reading this forum, I understand now that a credit card payment i
basically a transfer. You mark it as a payment in your checking and i
appears automatically on the credit card account. But when I downloa
CC statement, what should I do with the payments that was alread
there? It will be a duplicate of the "transfer" transaction.... do
delete it?? Can I merge them?

Money launch
Can anyone tell me what is ocurring when Money 2003 launches? I've noticed
(per my desktop cpu meter) that upon launching money, 100% of the cpu is
being used for about 30-45 seconds after signing in and home page displays.
My concern with this, is on more than one ocasion, if I submit a bill for on
line payment before the cpu percentage drops to less than 5%, the
program freezes after the confirmation displays and my only exit option is
via task manager.
I haven't a clue what the program could be doing since don't use passport,
or any of the other resource hogging features, such as feedback and money
express et al.
If anyone else has experienced this and has solved the poroblem, I would
surely like to hear what you did.
BTW, OS is Win XP Pro SP1

error 1304 when installing Money 2004
Hey anyone out there have any thoughts.
I keep getting this error when I try to install Money
2004.
"error 1304. Error writing to file ...microsoft
money\System\mnyology.dll. Verify that you have access
to that directory."
I had Money 2003 on there before. I get the same message
when i try to reload that one.

infinite loop "File Download" on launch
Since Sunday, every time I launch Money 2004 Deluxe, an infinite loop
starts: a "File Download" dialog briefly appears, disappears, focus switches
to a browser window but loads nothing; then back to the File Download
dialog, etc ad nauseum.
I'm fully patched via Windows Updates, and Norton AntiVirus reports nothing.
I'm on Win2K Pro with latest service pack.
Anyone know what is going on?? I'm about ready to just switch to Quicken.
The only thing I can do to stop it is quit Money and forcibly end all
instances of Internet Explorer (v6).

In Money 2004 Deluxe I am offerred the opportunity to change the name of all
payees in the 'setup your payees' screen EXCEPT those to whom electronic
payments have been made at any time in the past. How can I edit the payees
name for these?

I picked a wrong account.
Now when I download a second time,

I am trying to download a statement using money 99 and

Auto categorise
Hi all, I have just started using MS money for the first time, and im
stuck with something. I can download and import statements from my
bank and that seems to be working fine. What i want though is for
money to auto recognise entries. For example i assigned expednse in a
particular supermarket as groceries. I thought that in every instance
of that supermarket in my statement it would automatically be seen as
'groceries' category, but this doesnt seem to happen, i have to
manually add the category each time a transaction occurs with that
store. Likewise, when i add a monthly transaction as a bill, it
doesnt recognise further instances of that payment. So i get lots of
messages saying all my bills are overdue as the program doesnt seem to
reconise the same bill payed one month later.
Please help im sure theres something simple im doing wrong, but i cant
figure this out.

Does the "Repair Money File" option apply to Money 2002? I don't see it. I
did clear all of my internet files and run the salvage utility from the KB
article referenced in your previous post, but this didn't help anything.
The downloaded transaction that I had deleted has started showing in the
register again (this happened before I tried the suggested steps), but I
still can't accept the transaction.

Total price incorrect
I created an investment account and entered three
investments: A, B, and C. When I entered the number of
shares purchased and the price per share, the total cost
for "C" is only 1% of what it should be (100 shares X $5
per share = $5.00 total, instead of $500). A and B are
okay. Can't figure out why C is a 100th of its real
total. I've deleted it and re-entered it about 10 times
but the result is always the same.

Electronic payment category error
Money 2004, imported money 2002 file. I have 'special'
catetgories at the bottom of the list. When I try to make
an electronic payment via the 'bills and deposits' menu,
and select the category to the special - "loan- mortgage"
for example, the program errors and shuts down.

Home Balance off by $750+ trillion
My balances are off by over 750 Trillion (yes, trillion)
on my home, account balances and budgeting/cash flow
pages. However, they are correct in the register. Correct
starting balances, correct ending balances.
This happened after getting a new computer, changing from
Win200Pro to XP. Both computers used Money 2003 Deluxe.
I've uninstalled/reintalled money, restored my back-up
serveral times, and this is still happening (even to my
previous years archives). I ran the money update. I tried
using start=>run=>msmoney -s as was suggested in a few
previous posts, but that didn't do the trick, either.
I'm not sure what the File=>repair money file is that I
saw in a post, but I can't find that in any of the menus
on my money file.

Money 2k4 Deluxe and 401K contrib with Employer Match
I am trying to set up my paychecks in Money 2004 Deluxe and a 401K account
with my contributions and a a 3% empoloyer matching program.
I have the following generic sample"
Gross Check $2,000
401K contrib pre-tax (%) 15%
------------------------
so, $300.00 per check (every 2 weeks) will go towards the following mutual
funds in the 401K:
Fund A 10% $30.00
Fund B 15% $45.00
Fund C 30% $90.00
Fund D 25% $75.00
Fund E 20% $60.00
= 100% or $300.00 total pre-tax contributions
How can I set-up Money to enter my paycheck and at least tie the 401K amount
of either 15% of the gross amount or the percentages of each fund? I can
enter the dollar amounts of the funds if necessary. I am trying to associate
my checking account, payroll check and the 401K account without too manual
entries.
I do want to be able to see the 401k fund in my porfolio and be able to
update the NAV's.

Money 2004 Premium crashing
For last week having this problem when shutting down (was 4 months with zero problems). "Money was not able to properly intialize Online Services. If you want to use online service, please reinstall money from your original product disks." I've updated Money, IE, NAV, reinstalled twice and it keeps crashing. For the last 4 months I've used the internet with Money no problem at all. When I get this message, it locks up the program, and I have to use CTRL ALT DEL to shut Money down, Please help

data in your personal account, as does Fidelity and others. Correct?

I found out they do. Select "The Vanguard Group" from the institution fund.
