Money supports this, even in 2005. You have to pre-define a conversion =
rate between your file's base currency and each of the downloaded =
currencies. This is particularly true if the account you are =
downloading has a default currency which is not defined in your file. =
The error message in 2006 was improved to help users realize they need =
to set that conversion rate and then setup a second time.

I don't know. I know that Money 2007 OFX handling was changed to
handle the newer 2.03 and 1.03 OFX versions, but I think those add
primarily multi-factor authentication.

I did not know that Money 2005 would not handle <CURDEF> that have
different currencies in the same file. Each account within the OFX
file would have its own <CURDEF> tag, but I only have worked with
them where the currency is the same.

Are you sure that each of the respective accounts are set up for the
particular currency that the CURDEF for the account is for?

You could try installing the Money 2007 trial on a different
computer without the potential messing up your current installation.
However I suspect they would work the same in that regard.

Dear Bob,
thanks for your kind reply.
I have tried the following:

Setting up an investment account with EUR as base currency.
Importing an OFX statement from my broker that contains stock positions in
EUR and USD. The broker account base is EUR also. So the CURDEF value in the
statement is EUR.
For the investment positions, the conversion rates (CURRATE) are included in
the OFX file. For EUR it is 1, for USD it is for example 0.75255. The
currency symbols (CURSYM) are also included.

Then I observed the following:
Money imported all position (Add Shares) as if they where EUR. It ignored
the CURRATE, setting it to 1. So for example it calculated one GOOG share to
be worth 460 EUR that is about 610 $. Pity that this is not true in the
moment!!!

If MNY does not calculate the currencies, would it help to set up one
account for every currency and import selectively only those positions that
match the base currency of the account?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is a good suggestion to try MNY2007 on a new computer as I do not want to
get additional problems by upgrading ;-)

Today, many people replace a running XP by a not yet finished Vista system.
For what?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
I have tested again with the conversion rate for USD defined in program
settings. There is no effect (the same fault as before).
