That means that the update has been successfully applied. That is
mixed news in that if it had not, bad operation could have easily
been explained.

4 MB is not that big. A new file might be 3.5 MB. You can open the
*.mny file by opening Money by double-clicking that file in Windows
Explorer. You could also do File->Open from within Money.
So those backups... I am glad to see that you have more than one.
Make an extra copy of them into another folder too. It would be a
shame to have one overwritten by mistake. Then back in the "MY
documents" folder, check the dates. Pick a likely looking one and
double-click that file in Windows Explorer. That should launch Money
and start a restore. (You could also File->Restore from within
Money.) Do not restore to the default location. Instead Browse to
the "MY documents" folder and make a new unique name such as
"Raman1" or "Raman2". Continue to use the one that is closest to
your latest. Lets hope you have a really good one The *.mbf files
are often compressed, so they could be significantly smaller than
the files they back up. Go by the later dates to help decide your
most promising candidates.
I feel confident that after this you will make a good backup
strategy including making copies of your important files onto other
media -- including USB flash drive(s). Remember that you would like
to have a backup from a month ago. You could have a problem in your
file and if you overwrite your only good backup as you exit, your
only good backup is gone. I would hope you have already done that
with your more important info such as your browser favorites and
your favorite spreadsheets and documents.
The newer versions, such as Money Plus in the US will by default
keep your latest 4 backups with time/date as part of the name. That
number can be increased, which I do since I have plenty of space on
the hard drive.
