    - Items to review(19) - none are showing Ok, I didn't change anything that I know of. My MsM donwloads directly from my bank. THe past couple of times when I update, I see "Items to review(19 )", yet they are no where to be found in my register. I have set the option to see all transactions (not just last 3 months), but I still cannot see an y of the items. This happens for all my accounts, not just one. Has anyone else seen this?     - How do I get my legit MS Money back? Several months ago I bought and installed MS Money. I had been working along OK until I had PC issues this week. I had to reformat and reinstall everything. I tried reinstalling the MS Money Webinst.exe that I saved, but it keeps telling me that it is a trial version and will not install. I am a legitimate owner of an MS Money license. I am looking for my receipts but cannot seem to find them. But I can verify my identity and the fact that I purchased it if I can find the right person or website to contact.     - Error with imports and manual transaction entering. When i tried imported a bank statement today money would now show the transactions but has the (* new) transactions next to the account even tho the actual transaction does not show. After this failed import i cannot enter transactions in manually either. It says an error has occurred so i try again and it puts the transaction in but the value is wildly off (10-100 times the value i entered). I restored a backup from yesterday and the manual transaction methods works correctly now but once i try importing a bank statement it corrupts the Money program again. Please help?     - Transaction Memo Data When I download bank info, the Money checking register shows the additional Memo data initially, but usually within 2 minutes or so, that data disappears (or is deleted) leaving only the Payee info intact. I've used MSN Money's Portfolio for years and just started getting the problem in the past six months. A post from MS says "we are working with our data providers to supply the correct date".     - Investment updates blow up Here's the situation: My wife and I both have accounts at the same investment firm. Since we have IRA's I cannot update both of our information from one logon/password. My wife and I do, however, share some accounts. So, I update my accounts and our shared accounts from my logon/password. I update my wife's individual accounts from her logon/password. Money also wants to update our shared accounts from my wife's logon/password but I've told Money that the our shared accounts from her logon/password are "closed." Money apparently can't handle this typical situation to determine that accounts from different logon/passwords may actually be joint accounts. Anyway, I've gotten around that but a new issue crept up within the last month. My wife's logon/password was successfully updating her accounts. Lately, however, her logon/password will update all of our shared accounts and my individual accounts!! So, Money will add multiple duplicate accounts to my account list for shared and my accounts and it will FAIL to update her accounts. Money appears to be updating accounts successfully through my logon/password and then will run her update using my logon/password! I've re-setup her logon process many times and I've confirmed her update uses her logon/password, not mine. So why would Money think it's updating her information when in fact it tries to update mine twice? Strange I realize, but I'm at a loss. The next step is to change to Quicken.     - Updating Accounts About a month ago I opened my Money program and saw that it had deleted the sign-on info I had saved for Home Depot and MBNA.     - 2004 vs 2006 handling of "Server price update problem" You know when the server doesn't update the prices in your copy of Money, but the prices ARE available elsewhere/ the next day at MSN ? ( Like last night) NORMALLY , in M2004 that night I can see the "price change column" is correct but the price was not updated, and I do it manually ( like I just did) So for Fidelity Low Priced Stock I change see that it went up by $0.07 and since it WAS 41.74, I know the new price is $41.81 so I update it and all the other funds too. ( BTW when I need to do this, prior to starting Money, I change the date on my PC back to "yesterday", so the " Today's total change" column is shown for those that were updated online- I can skip those). This morning when I opened M2006 the "price change column" shows UNCH yet the price of the fund IS correct. That's something that I hadn't noticed before. So with the same info provided by the server, M2004 updates the "price change column", yet doesn't update the price. M2006 updates the price and shows it as "unch". Anyone else with another version notice a difference ? SO, if this is now true, I could open M2006 - take a snap of the screen and update M2004 on the other PC manually without doing the math in my head ( like ... it WAS 72.38 and it went down $1.79 so the price is ...)     - Initial Investment and Business Reports I started a small business, and used a Home Equity as a down payment. The rest of the money came from an SBA loan. I got the money from the HE loan before the closing. I deposited the money in the Business Checking Account, under other income. Now it shows up in my PL Statement as income, and that is not right.     - CD Investment in Money 2005 Hi all, I have been tracking CD's in money for a while. What I had been doing was to buy a $10,000 CD in "investment A" from my Checking account. When I received interest I would go under cash transactions and record them in category CD Interest. When the CD expired I redeemed the CD for the principal + interest. But this leaves my Account value to a value equal to the interest amount. I read through here and found that instead of using the cash transactions I should do "reinvest interest" for interest transactions. I changed all the amounts to reflect the change. Now when I go to redeem the CD with the following information: Investment: Investment A Activity: Redeem CD/Bond Transfer to: Checking 1 Value: 10000 Interest: 500 Total: 10500 I get this error. "Adding this Sell, Remove, or Redeem Shares activity will cause the balance of 'Investment A' held in this investment account to become negative at some point. Please cancel or revise the transaction." What am I doing wrong here? Or is it money that is causing the problem? Please guide me as to what can I do to get this fixed. Thank you.     - Start Up Money 2006 Screen My start-up screen has changed and it causes Money to be opened 'off-line', but the 'work off-line' button does not appear.     - Installing Money 2005 on Vista Beta 2 Hello, I recently wiped my hard drive and installed vista beta 2, and now I'm trying to install Money 2005 from the original CD. During installation, I get about 90% done, and then "fontinst" crashes, and windows closes the money installer. I can launch money, but right away it says it's missing components and then shuts down. I've tried telling windows to run fontinst and money's setup program as administrator, and i've also told it to run in XP compatibility mode, but it doesn't help. It seems that others have successfully installed Money 2005 in Vista (or was it already installed and they just upgraded to Vista?) so I'm hoping someone's had this problem before and knows how to fix it. I am trying to locate other individuals who, like me, have received unsolicited credit cards from Bank of America; that is, people who have actually had accounts opened in their name without their authorization. I recently received a solicitation to apply for a credit card and, although I ignored the solicitation, I later received a credit card in the mail. I have since confirmed that a Visa account has been opened without my authorization and that the account already appears on my credit report with the 3 credit reporting agencies. To be clear, I gave no authorization (written or verbal) to the bank to open this account. It is not a renewal card -- I have no credit card accounts with this bank. It appears that this is a violation of the Truth-In-Lending Act -- "No credit card shall be issued except in response to a request or application therefor. This prohibition does not apply to the issuance of a credit card in renewal of, or in substitution for, an accepted credit card."     - Split Transaction Annoyance I *think* this is new in MSM2006, but am not sure. When entering a split transaction, once the split categories and amounts are entered, you click "Done" if it all adds up to the total amount of the transaction. No problem. If the splits don't add up, you're given popup choices to fix it. Fine. So, by opting for "Done," you've told Money you're finished with entering the split information and that it's correct. This takes you back to the main transaction page, which now has "Accept" bolded for action. However, if you press "Accept," you lose all the information you've entered under the splits! You must first press the unbolded "Enter" and then "Accept." While it's not at all difficult to press the extra button, since there is no warning pop up about it or bolded text, I often forget and press "Accept." I then have to go back and re-enter often very long lists of data. Is there some place to set an option to be warned about this? Or someplace to set Money to enter this information automatically when pressing "Done" on the split field?     - Category spending report duplication, etc. MONEY 2005 STANDARD EDITION: I entered my category info in my checking account register, then when looked in reports several showed up as unassigned.... so I assigned them categories AGAIN... and then they appear as duplicates in the intended category.     - Estimate Payment based upon X# of past transactions???? I was looking at my cash flow in MS Money 2006 and noticed that the credit card I use for day to day purchases has an ever increasing balance. This is incorrect becaue I pay it off every couple of weeks. In an attempt to fix this, I created a recurring transaction to transfer from checking to credit card. This is fine, except the balance varies from week to week. For the transaction I selected "Estimate based up last 6 payments" When I go back into my upcoming bills it shows this upcoming transaction as ~$0.00 If I set the transaction amount to a fixed dollar number, the cashflow graph looks right. I would rather have an estimated amount that can vary based upon my spending habits without having to manually change it. It seems it should have calculated this # based upon the last 6 credit card payments. Rather than put a fixed amount, how can I make MS Money 2006 use the estimate like I want?     - Assigning category downloaded IRA distribution Money Delux 2006. IRA quarterly mandatory distributions are downloaded from my mutual fund. It is recorded as a sale.     - Creating New Reports Hello- What ways are there to create new reports in Outlook? If there isn't a way, then is there a general report that gives you full range to customize? I'd like to see some reports that MS Money 2004 Premium doesn't seem to have. For example, I'd like to see the average monthly spend for certain categories over the course of a year, this for more accurate future budgeting.     - Money04 vs. MSN Billpay I've been using MSN Billpay/Checkfree with Microsoft Money for many years, but have recently noticed a problem: When I enter a bill and set it to pay on a certain date (not a weekend), it initially shows in the register as the date that I set. Then, when I run "Internet Updates" the date backs up four days. I can go online to billpay.msn.com and see that the date is what I originally set it to and I can see in my bank statement that the payment withdrawn on the date I originally set (or later). It seems like Money 2004 is adding an arbitrary four day pad. Is this a known issue? Is there any way to fix this. I don't think it did this until recently. I've recently migrated from Quicken to Money 2005 and it has opened just
fine until today. Now I get a screen saying Money will update make a copy
of my file and then update it with the latest improvements, but I can't get
the file to open - and I do have the correct password.

What do I have to do to get my file back?

Open the sample.mny file in your install folder. If the file is not
already 14.0.*.1105, it will do an update. Close Money. Then open
Money and check that Help->About... says you then have version
14.0.*.1105.

Then open your real file.
