When attempting to start M2006, I get an error message that "Money
could not verify your sign-in information". It says to close Money and
restart. But I get the same error message. I have tried repairing the
Money file (msmoney -s) and restoring an old backup but to no avail.
What else can I try? Is the Microsoft money server having problems?

John

I am getting the same message, I think MSN is having problems. I would just
wait.

There is an upgrade that will affect Money users that have a
Passport/LiveID on their file. The time will not be the same for
each user, but there is a window for each such users of a few hours
where a startup problem could happen. Consider working offline for a
while and trying online in a few hours.

You might be one that has been completed by now.

Same problem. I am trying to switch from god awful Quicken. I'm tired of
picking from 200 item drop down boxes that are 1 inch high.

But damn, I can't even open Microsoft Money. What an impression that
leaves. Why the hell does this program require a Live ID anyway?

It doesn't if you don't need to download automatically from "third
party" institutions as described at
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx

To create a new file without LiveID, select Decline during file
creation.
