You could try "super-validate" on the Quicken file.

I'm a Quicken user, watching very carefully to see how well conversions to $
go in case I do it myself.

To Supervalidate, hold down the CTL & SHIFT keys, then select File
Operations, Validate. After selecting the *.QDF file to validate, you
should see a pop-up window that says "Supervalidating..."

In Quicken hold Ctrl+Shift keys as you mouse to File->Maintenance.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I though you might have
been kidding with me about "super-validate" :) I will
try this tonight at home and post the results back here
for your information. T-Y again

I've been looking at Money for 3 years, and have yet to be able to convert
my Quicken file, super-validated and everything.

I tried recently to convert from Quicken 2002 to Money 2004, and got the
same error I always have - ran out of memory or disk. This time I also used
a task profiler, and verified that Money is not using any substantial amount
of memory or disk space - its just a bogus error.
