My bank provides bill pay, but I do not want to use it. Instead, I prefer to
use MSN Bill Pay. I cannot figure out how to either disable my bank's bill
pay service, or specify I want to use MSN bill pay.

Any Ideas?

Using Money 2006.

Thanks

You disable online bill pay by using Manage Online Services. But that only
disables it within Money, not at the bank. So, if there are fees involved,
you want to disable it through your bank, as well.

If you have not yet initiated use of MSN Bill Pay within Money, you can't,
anyway. MSN and their provider, Checkfree, recently made some configuration
changes that are incompatible with using MSN Billpay _within_ Money.
Previous users are grandfathered in. New accounts can use only web access
until the next version of Money.

Even when MSN Billpay IS working, the design lately has required that it
creates a separate account in Money. That account can then be MERGED to your
current checking account (or vice versa?) but only if you have NO online
banking on that account. So, if you want to download non-billpay
transactions from your bank, you can't do that AND enter MSN Billpay bills
directly into it.

It's not pretty.

A little clarification about the merge accounts feature:
Actually, the merge will only work between an online and and offline
account.
An MSN Bill Pay account is considered "offline" since it is not doing
statement import.
So, it could be merged with an online enabled account but not with a manual
only (offline) account. (You would need to do a QIF export of the manual
account and import it into the MSN Bill Pay account).

Also reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889926/en-us
and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/76976/en-us (if the account to merge was
an "offline" account)

I guess no need for me to ask how one sets up MSN Bill pay to pay directly
from the Money Register. Correct?

Thanks
Jon

Since you don't apparently have one already, correct. It supposedly will be
fixed in the next version.
