Money2004 Standard distributed with a new DELL PC bought
a few days ago. When I start the program, it telled me
that "Microsoft Money has encoutered a problem and needs
to close". I send the error report. Then I called DELL
support. They told me to uninstall the Money2004 and
Norton AntiVirus, then reinstall the Money2004. But it
still doesn't work. What should I do then. Thanks for
your help!!!

Are you trying to open a previous Money file you moved to the system? If
so, try opening the sample file in the Money directory to see if your
installation/environment is the problem or your data file is the problem.

Thanks!
My problem is Money2004 can't start in my computer. New
installation. The CD is from DELL distribution. I think
it won't be any problem. And I install the trial edition
downloaded from microsoft website can't work in my
another computer. So I think it must be some software
conflict. Do you have any idea of troubleshooting?

I my self have been running into the same problem. I'm
working on a customers computer to try and resolve this
software conflict. I'll write back once it is resolved, im
pretty sure that ill have to try it from scratch as far as
having all programs uninstalled to a point where the
system will take money 2004 then one by one putting
programs on to see which of the programs will cause a
conflict. You may wanna try uninstalling such things as
norton, psp 7 anything like those and use the program
system mechanic to make sure all registry entries left by
those programs are gone as well then unistall money and
clean reg and re-install money again.....may work but like
i said i'll let ya know..

Ya. A good idea!
Last night I just tried to uninstall Norton, then re-
install the Moeny2004, but it didn't work. There are many
important data in my computer. So I can't uninstall many
things, I can't try it any more. May you good luck!
Waiting for your good news.
:) Good luck.
