Older verison of Money has performed flawlessly up until now. Balancing
my checking account, all entries I've cleared match the statement
perfectly (account is reconciled manually to a paper statement, not to
downloaded data) and program should reconcile the account. The cleared
balance field shows ($300.00) and statement balance $300.00, but
difference field has been doubled and reads $600.00, instead of zeroing
out and indicating account is in balance.

It seems like a glitch somewhere in the app is not adding the values
correctly. I've found no options to repair the file in my version or
otherwise address the problem. Any suggestions on what steps to take to
fix the issue would be appreciated. Thanks.

Two things to check:
1. Does your starting balance in MSMoney match the paper statement?
2. Is there a deposit that is entered as a withdrawal or vice-versa?
