I have been receiving the feared '...not able to complete the Money update."
The version I have is 14.0.150.805 which I assume has the patches applied.
If it is, how do I stop the message from appearing? If not, how do I get
this update to run?

The post update version is 1105. Try opening the sample.mny file and leave
it alone till the update has completed - perhaps overnight.

Sorry, wrong button. Nope Bob. I change to the sample.mny file, restart
Money and get the same error. If you say the post-update version number is
1105, and I already have 14*, wouldn't that be going backward?

Sorry, I didn't know which part of the version number to look at. Yes, 1105
is newer than 805, but I still can not run the update to get to 1105.

I've removed NAV and MSB 2005 from my machine, defraged, shut down and
turned back on, re-installed MSB 2005, pointed it to sample.mny, closed the
software, restarted and still get the same message.

Bob wrote that I should let the update run and it may take a long time, but
it never even starts. Is it possibly a bad CD?

you may need to remove Money 2005, perform a Clean Boot, reinstall Money, and
start a new file. Check if you can receive the update.

I've done all of that. The re-boot I did was not in Safe Mode, but it was a
shut off/turn on re-boot. Since I haven't seen many other postings with this
problem I am still wondering if I have a bad CD.

Have you tried deleting the Microsoft Money 2005 directory after
uninstalling? The auto update downloads into a hidden directory in there,
and removing it might allow it to go again on reinstall again.

Yup, tried that; same results. Since I have not seen a lot of posts on this

I have gone through the system like this:
Delete MSB 2005
Delete all folders and files having anything to do with MSB of mny files
Searched the registery and deleted anything having to do with MSB
Re-installed MSB 2005
Guess what: It still happens.

I've asked three times before but never gotten an answer; is it possible
that I have a bad CD?
