    - Debt reduction problem When I work out a plan for debt reduction, it keeps adding $350 to the first month of the plan. So for example if I want to pay $263 per month it comes up with $613. On my old Money 2003 I had worked out a plan paying $350 per month, but I deleted the account so I don't understand why it seems to have that number locked in. Any thoughts?     - Can't get auto updates for newly included banks Hello, I had previously exported bank transactions in ms money 2004 directly from the national city online banking website. Now they are included in the "list of online banks" in ms money 2005. When I went into the online services for my account and selected the newly available entry "National City - Online Banking" it did say it was retrieving information in a dialog box, but eventually goes to a screen saying account setup is currently unavailable or not available or something like that. Then I get a link next to my account saying "Provide sign-in information" but if i click that I end up selecting the bank from the list again and the process repeats. Any ideas? Is this using the "Yodlee" feature that people are talking about? I also am unable to get CitiCards updates automatically. The other annoying thing is that MS Money 05 has created a duplicate account for national city and for CitiCards but the merge feature is not picking up those accounts.     - Money 2005 2 Problems Installed 2005 in early Oct, clean installation after it failed to upgrade my 2002 files, everything worked fine until the 15th Oct when I noticed it was not up dating any of my Fund items, ALL my stocks are still being up dated. I then noticed that after connecting to my bank (Nationwide in Essential mode)it's not up dating the balance, the transactions show but the balance just does not change.     - Bill Pay Help I just signed up with Bill Pay and don't understand how to coordinate Bill Pay with my Bills list and checking account. It makes a separate Bill Pay register which I am unable to merge with the checking account register (as Help suggests). Any way to get Bill Pay transactions noted as "paid" in the Bills section AND in my checking account register? One other question, any way for me to find out 2004 financial institutions supported?     - Backup Problem (Money 2005) I hope someone out there has some ideas as I really don't want to lose 3 years of my Money transactions. Yesterday I reformatted my computer. Before I did, I opened Money 2005, saved the "MyMoney.mny" file and also created a backup file. I saved both of these files onto a DVD and went ahead with the reformat. After I was done I installed Money 2005, got the update, and everything seems to work until I try to open the "Mymoney.mny" or restore the backup files I backed up. Money opens the files without error, and I see a popup for a split second with a progress bar going across as expected, but after everything seems to be loaded, nothing is there. It's as if I've opened a fresh new file. No accounts/bills or anything. I also tried the "repair" feature but nothing seems to be wrong with the files I'm trying to restore. The MyMoney.mny file is 4megs in size so I believe it does have all my info. One note if this makes any difference... My computer came with a set of 3 cds for this reformat I did, in addition to installing Windows XP (Home), a basic verion of Money 2004 is installed. I didn't think about it, but in order to run the included Money 2004 I needed to accept a EULA and such, which I didn't do after the reformat, I just installed the Money 2005 which removed the 2004.     - Quicken Conversion Problem I am using Quicken 2003 and have tried several times to convert the .QDF file to Money 2005. We keep getting the error message about " running out of disk space or insufficent memory". We then did the validate and super validate and had the same error message. What is going on?     - MS Money 2005/Quicken 2005 -> GnuCash instead ?? Since MS Money 2005 so far has been a wash, as well as Quicken 2005, it's either stick to 2004, or wait for 2006 so far for me. :P Meantime, has anybody any experiences on switching to something like GnuCash which does not suffer from marketingitis, and is built by real programmers? From what I can tell, GnuCash doesn't have all the pretty bells and whistles like direct online-download, but has most of the basic double-entry/qif-ofx import abilities plus possibly better reporting/graphing abilities, with ability to access from multiple computers or something such due to a real SQL backend.     - How to stop Money 2005 auto updating share prices? I am an Australian user of Money 2005. I recently upgraded from Money 2004. In Money 2004 I could stop the share price updating automatically, but in Money 2005 I cannot. Australian share prices are 24 hrs old when updated with Money's live update. I usually just do a manual share price update to get an idea of where my investments are at. In Money 2005, you can manually update, but everytime you browse through sections of your portfolio manager it wants to update prices again (which revert to yesterdays price).     - Upgrading 2005 from 2004 This is a message for ya'll trying to convert that file from 2004 to the new "improved" 2005. This worked for me running a XP SP2 laptop with 2 users. First uninstall 2005. Reinstall 2004. Under the file menu you will find "repair money File". Click on that and do a standard repair. Reinstall 2005. Use the new repaired file and it works. I noticed that the repaired file was half the size of the old file. It apparently had a record file error. Hope this helps ya'll out. Now to find out what new problems I will find.     - Recurring Deposits Help I have a recurring deposit of a paycheck that will be a certain amount for the next 3 months, until the end of the year. Next year, 2005, since my paycheck will be a different amount, I entered another recurring deposit to start from January 2005 for a monthly frequency. Here is the problem: When I go into the Budget feature in Money 2004, the income section shows two income streams. One for the current recurring deposit until the end of 2004 and the other one I set to start in January 2005 which throws off the income amount that I have to spend. It says that I have way more income than I have. How thought about just waiting until after 2004 to enter the new paycheck amount but that defeats the forecasting feature of Money 2004. I want to be able to forecast future money streams and expenses. How do I enter these differing paycheck amounts in the Bills and Deposits area and how do I "tell" Money that I don't want two paychecks and to start the new paycheck amount in 2005?     - Problem with decimals when downloading statements Hi, I have been using Money 2004 and now upgraded to Trial 2005. When I download a statement from American Express atleast I get mismatch on transactions because the downloaded transactions comes in without decimals. Two examples 35.20 becomes 35 and 9.50 becomes 9 this causes a problem because these transactions will not match. Any good idea how to solve these problems?     - Not so advanced budget/reports feature in 2005 I recently upgraded to Money 2005 small business from the 2004 version in the hopes it would fix problems I have had with the budget and reports. My budget is set in stone and approved once a year for my non-profit organization. When I enter the budget into Money, my recurring bills and deposits show up in my budget and I can't get rid of them!!! Since my recurring bill/deposits may not exactly match my yearly budget, my budget is always way off. I have to calculate it by hand whenever I have to do a report. I've always considered Microsoft Money's implementation of the budget and report customization to be pretty basic in functionality. So when I heard that the 2005 version had an "advanced" budget and report feature, I was excited. What a big disappointment. It turns out that Microsoft decided their budget/reports wasn't dumb enough so they created the "essential" budget and reports. The "advanced" version is what we already had in Money 2004. I'm tired of calculating my budget by hand. I'm tired of generating several reports, exporting them to excel, then combining them into a report I can use. I'm tired of Money not having the ability to scale a report to fit on one page. I've been a loyal customer so far but I've had it. I just ordered the free-trial version of QuickBooks.     - 2005 SB: Payment for invoices not showing as income in reports? I just upgraded to 2005 and I am not impressed so far. For some reason downloaded transactions cannot be marked as "Payment for Invoice", you have to create a new transaction to get it to popup the wizard to allocate to various invoices. My most pressing issue is that when I run a report, everything I marked as "Payment for Invoice" isn't showing up as income. Does anyone know a work around?!     - 2005 upgrade and account merge issues I guess I am just posting a "me too" post about how dissapointed I am with Money 2005. My problem is that using the new online account from yodlee and attempting to merge accounts is totally broken. It duplicates the past month of transactions again every time I try and there is no way to match transactions, I either delete the hand entered ones and throw off all my other accounts because of tranfers or I delete the automatically downloaded ones and they come back each time I open money.     - Problem with Budgets after upgrading to Money 2005 I have been using Money for years. I was on the 2004 version and upgraded to 2005. I wanted to see what essential budgets were like, so I changed the budgeting from advanced to essential. I decided that I wanted to go back to advanced, but it won't let me.     - Money 2005 slow to enter transactions I just upgraded to Money 2005 and I'm noticing that transactions that have been downloaded from the web, instead of manually entered, take a long time to save after editting. I usually manually enter them, then let the downloads reconcile, but a few escape me now and then. These transactions take forever to "enter" after I edit the categories, payess, etc. Can someone explain why this is? In previous versions, one could disable feedback settings, but I cannot locate that setting in Money 2005. Anyone have any suggestions? I've had other issues with this newest version and, after disabling most of the new features, I'm trying to justify this software investment. But, if I cannot speed up these modified transactions, I too will join the long list of seasoned Money users who have migrated backward to previous versions.     - Upgrading to Money 2005 Beware! I am a 3 year user of Money 2003 and Money2004 Small Business. Although I have had minor problems, these products have been very stable and have greatly enhanced my financial control. So I was very surprised to find that MIcrosoft put out Money 2005 in its current state. I was receiving sales hints every time I ran 2004 and so I upgraded yesterday. What a mistake! The product has changed so much that nothing went smoothly and all of my records , accounts and history were messed up. Their program just quit several times on me without aborting messages - it just disappeared and I had to launch it again. It pushes you hard to put out all of your information on the MSN internet site even if you don't want to. It reconfigures you online access to your accounts and creates new accounts at banks which you may have previously told it to leave alone. There does not seem to be the same type of detail configuration possible. Since I have other accounts that I manage for children that I don't want to see in my financial statement this is a problem. If you try to delete these new accounts it added, it wants to delete all of your accounts at that bank. This product has not advanced that state of control you have, it has reduced it. I have wasted my upgrade fee on this one and will now be looking at other alternatives. Too bad - I really liked the product through 2004 versions. I removed the product and re-installed Money 2004.     - M2004 - cashflow / budget issue - can't pick account for budget expenses Hi There I've recently upgraded to Money 2004. Apart from the fact it has been a torturous 3 day process I think I've now got things working but I do have a question: In the cashflow section I can watch the money going into and out of my accounts based on what I've budgeted. Problem is M2004 seems to think that *all* the Money comes and goes out of one account (my checking account) when the reality is that some expenses I've budgeted come out of other accounts. The only time this doesn't happen is when I make something a Bill - then I can pick the account it comes out of, but a lot of my expenses aren't *Bills* per se e.g. I go to rock climbing at a local rocknasieum some weeks which I want to account for but is not a regular "bill".     - Mystery Account Merge Result Hello, I;ve setup an account with the bank for online updates and billpaying, after I connect I seem to have two of the same accounts Checking and Checking #2. They are the same and seem to be updating. some of the catagories for the Checking 2 are different the Checking one for the same transactions. I tried to delete it but it will take my Credit card account that I hold at the same bank with it. So I tried to close it. But I see that in the budget area the Checking 2 transaction that have different catagories screw up the budget, for example Checking 2 has my deposits as Bank Charges so now on my budget graphs I have no income but lot's of Bank Charges.     - Constant connections with M05 Money 2005 (in XP) is connecting at startup and when I disconnect it, it reconnects. The only way I've found to stop it is change my dialing prefs to 'Never dial a connection' in Internet Options. Is this normal for '05? Is there a way to stop it from dialing all the time? Thanks! I have tried recreating a new budget and recreating every recurring bill ... with the same result. The only thing that works is assigning old transactions to a bogus category, deleting the category from the budget, then recreating a new recurring bill with the flushed out "new" catagory ... I got this from the Microsoft Knowledge Base. If this is this the only feasible work around I might as well create an entirely new file. I hate to archive the last 10 months of data for the sake of being able to have a working budget. Maybe I'm overlooking a simple solution.     - Return Money 2005 -> Per Microsoft Support 'It's Yodlee's Fault' I have been fighting with Money 2005 for over 2 weeks now. Since all the new online services in it come from a company called Yodlee, Microsoft is pawning off all online issues on them saying that they do not know when they will be resolved since it involves a third-party. I contacted Yodlee, was able to get in contact with the Vice President of Marketing and was told that they cannot comment on "co-branded" software and that "all support would have to come through [Microsoft]." That took me back to MS and then the guy I was working with told me that I should just get my money back. I will say that after being a money user for 4 years now I will be switching to something else. Installed Money 2005 in early Oct, a clean installation after it failed to
convert my 2002 file (I did re enter all my data!!). Worked fine untill I
noticed on the 15th none of my Funds were updating ALL my shares are still
updating fine.
I then discovered that my bank balance does not change even when there has
been a withdrawal (Nationwide essential register settings) It shows Account
Summary updated on 14/10/04 on the Account Register but on the Accounts List
section it shows it updated on the 19/10/04.
Any ideas before I try arm wrestling the Suuport Line
