I recently upgraded to 2006 Premium, and now I notice a significantly longer
time, 15/20+ minutes, to load the product to the home page, and then another
15/20+ minutes to paint the Cash Flow graph. Any ideas as to what's causing
this or how I can reduce the load time, besides taking out the Cash Flow
graph on the home page? Thanks!

Russell

You might try turning off quotes updates in Portfolio: Change portfolio
settings: Quote and Dividend updates. One user has reported a dramatic
increase in performance.

If this works for you, please report back.

Great tip!!! After ceasing the update functions, the program took only 12
minutes to load everything, from over 30 minutes previously. While this may
still seem like a long time to some folks, it is considerably less than
before and saves my sanity!

Thanks a million!
Russell

Wow. If it takes 12 minutes to paint your "home" page, I suggest you
set
Settings->ProgramSettings->(Display:)StartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:AccountList
and only go "Home" when you want that info.

As a ten year user of Money, it is hard for me to believe anyone would
use a product that took ten minutes to load and use. Either your
computer is too old for the product or you have some serious connect
problems. I would suggest you spend a few dollars and take your
computer with the Money program to a computer repair shop and let them
analyze the problem. Money should open in less than a minute and even
if you have a 56k phone connection it shouldn't be much longer. If you
don't have DSL or a cable now, I would strongly suggest you get one.
The cost is part of current technology. Don't keep using a phone line
if you want to enjoy what a modern computer technology provides. It is
well worth it IMHO. Good luck. Steve

Interesting. Then you'll want to also turn off the tax summary and any
other module that looks like it's taking a long time to calculate.

Did you read my reports on M06 performance on my (temporarily
deceased--that's another long and gory story to be told shortly) laptop?
It's 850MHz/384MB/dead hard disk.

You might want to search for old open/closed accounts that have no
transactions in them and remove them. If you had a lot of them, this might
speed it up a bit.
