Widget sales- How?
I am using Money Plus.
I sell widgets at shows, stores and online.
When I sell them, they show up on my bank statements but how do I keep track
of them as Sales and also apply the Sales tax so that they automatically
register on my reports as Income and Tax categories?
I guess what I am saying is I would like to just have a category that I can
set these transactions to that will seperate them into the right parts of my
Profit loss, taxes,Income reports.

I have been using Money v14 for a while and had lots of data and backup
regulary. Today I had to delete my profile on my PC and recreated and then
logged in to Money and noticed that my current account shows 0 balance.
How do i recover my account and my data back? I have tried the restore from
backups without luck. Please help as i have a lot of information on it.

Windows Live Password Problems with Archive Files
I am able to login to my current Microsoft Money file using my current
Windows Live ID and password.
However, I need to look up something in a Money archive file. When I try to
open the archive file and sign in, I get an error that my email or password
is incorrect. Resetting my Windows Live password did not help - I continue to
get the error message.

Money 2003 crashes after bank statement imported
Microsoft money crashes after I import a bank statement .qif file. If
imports it and then prompts me to indicate which account it relates to and
then crashes and generates an error message

Corrupt File, can't print checks
I've lost the ability to print checks from my primary bank account.
I've tried to repair my money file with Microsoft's program, but it
didn't help. I still can't print checks from my main bank account.
I have determined that MS Money 2002 is working fine, I can print
checks from another account, sooo... my primary bank file only is
corrupt.
Since that file is corrupt, would it do any good to buy a newer
version of Money? I would just be importing a corrupt file into a
newer version. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I just purchased Microsoft Essentials (download version).
I install without errors.
When I try to run it I do not get any errors but do not get an interface to

Check printing stopped
I've been using Money 2002 since 2002. I print checks after I enter
the info. I may have accidentally told it to stop sending info to the
printer, but I can't find a switch for that.
When I choose a check to print, and enter that command, the hyperlink
to print the check doesn't show up in the left margin like it always
has. I've re-installed the program, but that didn' help.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Frustrated Beyond Measure - Cannot Update and Cannot Use Portfolio
I loved Money 2005, recommended it to friends and got 2 great years of use
out of it. Then, it forced me to upgrade to continue online services. I
didn't mind since it was only $40 and I got two good years out of it.
However, Money Plus Deluxe has been a nuisance. I have never gotten
portfolio manager to work. I spent 2 weeks sending emails with support where
the guy eventually said "if this doesn't work, I can't help you." Great...
shoudl I go buy Quicken?
This weekend, I decided to try to completely uninstall Money and try a
reinstall to get Portfolio Manager to work. Now, I can't run Money at all.
Every time I load, it hangs for a few minutes and eventually tells me I need
to update. The update appears to start, but then the window shuts and
nothing else happens. If I try to re-run Money, it tells me I have an update
in process. If I let it run all night (I did), nothing changes. If I reboot
and try Money again, I get the same message.
So, trying to fix Portfolio Manager (I had already tried all the reinstall
Toolbox stuff), I have managed to hose Money.
Is there some reason we can't just download the update rather than have this

Adjust balance is correct...but money say's its not?
On the Account List page, I see a summary of my account... all are
fine except one... my checking account.
Money has a "Last Updated" date of 1/5/2004??? Presently NONE of my
banks or accounts are internet accessible. Where it got this date from
is beyond me? How can it think it connected to my bank when it
never happened?
More so, it lists an incorrect "Bank Balance"... its $47 higher than
the actual "Adj. Balance" (which is correct).
Why does money believe it has an incorrect balance? I've always
reconciled and balanced by hand. All my accounts are correct to the
penny - yet money thinks I'm out by $47 from back in 2004?
Is there a way to manual update the balance so it knows they are all
correct? or can I somehow change erase this $47
"recommendation"??? I tired letting it adjust my balance...but
then it was out by $47... so I had to find that transaction back in
2004 and delete it from the register.
Any insight is welcome.

Money 2006 - Balance Problems
I am running Money 2006 - Canadian Edition. It read my old files from Money
2002 with no problems.
I am trying to balance my credit card account. When I enter my new balance
owing in the balance this account window, I get a figure that has no
relation to what I have entered. In this case, I own $550.00 and my
previous balance is $35.00. The total should be $585. Instead, it gives me
a figure of $2500.00. I have no idea where that comes from. Worse, when I
check off my debts, its final figure does not agree with my EXEL results,
to say nothing of my own addition and subtraction.
I have run the repair tool and it reports back that nothing was found out
of order. I have run the simple repair and the level 2 repair.
My only recourse appears to be to check off all of my debts (and payments)
in the usual way, and then to enter the left over sum as a balance.
I have a second Money file (on an laptop) with some of this material on it
and it balances the
account with no problems. What is causing this problem and what can I do to
eliminate it?

Money 2007 file wont update from one computer to another
Ok, I have a desktop with Vista and laptop with XP home. I use the notebook
when Im away at work and the Vista desktop when Im home. When I got home I
wanted my money file from the notebook to be transfered to the desktop
but... when I copy the file from the notebook to my external USB HD and then
paste it to the desktop to replace the existing one the file does not
reflect changes made on the file version on the notebook. When I copy the
file from the notebook to the USB HD and then open it it shows one balance.
but when I then paste that file to the desktop it shows a different balance
that is not up to date. I am flabbergassted. So it seems that the file is
specific to whatever machine it is opened on.
What the hell? Does anyone know why? The only thing I can think of is that
the money file is listed as an application like a program file. Ideas
anyone?

Can't get Chase Investments prices on the weekend
I have several Chase accounts defined to Money Plus Deluxe, including
some investment accounts. I also have a Fidelity IRA and a Vanguard
401(k) defined. For some reason, when I update prices on the weekend
for these accounts, there is one Chase investment account that does not
get ANY price, which leaves the investment with a zero balance.
Has anyone else seen this and is there a fix?

Why different pay days in Bill summary?
Two of my scheduled electronic payments are due on the same day. When I go
into my Calender view, they both are listed on the same day as expected.
However, when I view them in Bills summary, there is a note for each in red
lettering, one says "This electronic payment must be sent within 2 days.".
The other says "This electonic payment must be sent within 4 days."
Why the difference in notes when both are actually scheduled for the same day?

"un" Merge accounts
I wanted to get my accounts online for a credit card and noticed that Money
setup a account for the download. I went to merge the existing account with
the online account and accidentally selected the wrong Credit Card account
(correct online account). How do I:
- delesect "merge" for these two accounts
and
- unmerge the information so that they are back to the way they were before

Can't restor backup file, "Please insert the next backup disk.....
I have money 2005 backup file (.mbf) and my original file has gotten
corrupted somehow and can't repair it (computer hung and had to be
restarted). Whenever I try to restor the backup file, I get the following
message,

I was backing up on a different connected single harddrive and there is only
one file. The file is not in multiple pieces and on different drives. When
I click OK, it doesn't do anything and cancel just stops the process.
I even downloaded the 2008 version and I am getting the same problem.

Did Money 2008 fix any of these issues?
I was looking to upgrade my 2007 Home&Biz to 2008 Home&Biz for only tthree
reasons:
1. CPU performance Issues with Background banking.
2. Money hanging when reconciling electronic transactions downloaded from
my Bank with those which were setup as recurring loan transactions (Such as a
Mortgage or Auto payment). This requires TaskManager->End Task and
Microsoft's recommendation was the Nuke the bills and re-enter. That works
for about a month or so...
3. (Business) Time Tracking screen refresh delays.
Also, can someone enlighten me on what is 'Enhanced Background Banking?"
So far from what I can tell it looks like none of these are resolved. I do
have the last 8 years of data in Money, but I think for the next fiscal year
it's time to switch to a product that a company actually puts effort into

Background Banking error crashes IE
I have Money Plus DLX adn have enabled background banking. When Im navigating
in IE it will crash and the log says " The instructions at "0x7c910e03"
referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be written". This
appears in a dialog box titled "MICROSOFT MONEY BACKGROUND BANKING:
MNYBB.EXE-APPLICATION ERROR". I beleive its caused by some sort of security
software or autofill software but cannot narrow it down. Any Ideas would be

New Services?
I just started using Money in January and I'm pretty disappointed with the
online accounts that are available....or more specifically NOT available.
For instance we have 2 car loans with Honda Finance, and Money doesnt
support that. We also have 3 credit cards that arent supported.
Overall I might just write it off as the loan provider not offering this
service. HOWEVER, I use Bank of America and their "Online Portfolio"
supports ALL of these accounts except for 2 gas card.

Plus Home and Business Clearing deposited invoices
This seems odd to me. When I do an invoice, and it is paid, and then I =
deposit it to my checking account (no problem), when the deposit clears =
and I download it from my bank, Money refuses to match it. It just =
ignores it and I have no choice but to accept it and delete it since I =

401k value multiplier?
I have a 401k through Nationwide, and I'm u sing Money Plus. Money doesnt
support automatic updates from Nationwide, but I can download my transactions
into Money from their website.
This works fine except that Money calculates the value based on 1-to-1 value
of the mutual funds, but in the 401k itself, I dont buy '1 share' of a fund,
I buy fractions of shares.
The problem is that Money doesnt know this, so it calculates the value of
Approximately 10x the actual value, and it shows a 1000% increase! (i wish!)

WBFI Investment SCAM - BUYER BEWARE
WBFI Trading is a scam that relies on cold calls from Central Europe:
WBFI Trading (Wealth Builders Financial International Trading? The
word Trading is NOT on the state incorparation website and not used on
the incorporation title in Florida but merely placed on the EU website
to impress) a so-called precious metals advisory firm is bankrupt.
WBFI's president and owner Judy Jackson is an experienced "loader", a
sales term for someone who takes an existing client and tries to
induce them to buy more. She is well known in the seedy telemarketing
and cold call sales industry. Jackson previously dealt with shady
stock sold in Spain, Costa Rica or Florida. She has a registered
business in the state of Florida under the title of Wealth Builders
Financial International. She has recently branched out to the EU and
is now located in Budapest, Hungary where Jackson has created a clever
shell game of fraud and deception, selling gold and silver to the UK
and the EU. Wealth Builders is also a registered business in Hungary.
One of the main reasons Jackson left the United States was to avoid
criminal prosecution for fraud. She had previously worked at
Livingston in Budapest a company dealing with with IPO stocks. The
company was shut down by the Hungarian National Police for fraud, the
owners are now in custody in Budapest, awaiting trial. Jackson fled
two weeks before Livingstone was shut down to avoid prosecution.
Jackson also worked at Rhino Commodities in Barcelona, Spain, which
was sanctioned and fined by the British FSA for cold calls and
fraudulent activities. Rhino has since closed their offices in
Barcelona. Jackson is now using this website to sell from the EU at:

The owner Judy Jackson is a con artist and has gone through a number
of partners and employees: cheating them out of payment and profits,
promising generous commissions, salary and then giving only half of
the promised commissions or nothing at all. One former partner had
several real estate projects, mostly fraudulent ones. Gabriell Jarrod
(one of many names he uses) wanted 50% of the business based on his
leads which were worthless. The leads were free downloads from real
estate lists: agents, property investors etc. One scam involved a
Romanian property development getting clients from the UK to invest,
take the commission from the sale and claim that all was well and the
development was proceeding as planned. The Romanian property owner
would take the money but not build anything. Amazingly no one ever
checked to see if they were building the development. Apparently the
Romanian partner claims that all the money was in his wife's name and
she has just died. His property rental and real estate business in
Hungary was failing due to the economic world recession and he thought
he could hustle his way into the gold and silver market by promising
good leads for free to Jackson.
Starting in January 2008, to replace her former partners and his
employees Jackson has imported and surrounded herself with friends and
street people, some from the USA. One big black guy they brought in
from Philly, was abusive and crazy. Derrick would go out and smoke pot
and crack and come back in and try to close deals, coming into work at
her home so drunk, he collapsed in the couch for half the day until
one of the owners caught him sleeping, apparently passed out for
hours. Jackson questioned Derrick but wouldn't fire him as WBFI needed
his skills so desperately. Jackson is being sued in Budapest, Hungary
as she does not pay her landlord or bills. Jackson rents a large home,
pays the first months rent and deposit, she then refuses to pay
anything further, claiming that their is a problem with the plumbing
or the Internet connection will not work, stays five or six months
until the owner files suit and forces her to leave the residence and
then moves on, repeating the procedure so she can rent an expensive
home in the hills at a discount or as Jackson states, "almost for
free".
The first week in March 2008, WBFI supposedly had $700,000 in excess
equity or profit from our clients accounts (the book). The owner
previously only dealt with gold and silver, Jackson then decides to go
into platinum and palladium, when it had peaked in price due
supposedly to an electricity shortage in South Africa. She then
convinces all clients to change from gold to palladium, Jackson claims
that she is not even charging a commission for the service.
Interesting in that the first pitch we used to get clients in, was
that WBFI only charges a one time fee. However, in the disclaimer/risk
disclosure that is sent the fine print states that WBFI charges a 15%
commission every time a transaction is completed, to include loads and
rolls. Palladium is a thinly traded metal used in the auto industry,
the day after she convinces all her clients to change metals from gold
into palladium, the metal loses over $200 an ounce. Her economic
genius is astounding, in 24 hours she loses over a million dollars,
putting every client into margin call or so she claims.
The Real Story
Jackson business in Hungary is failing and she needs cash flow.
JACKSON claims the first week of March 08, on a whim..... that she is
taking all the UK accounts from gold and silver, to palladium, a metal
I have never heard of. (Note: she claims that the three US accounts
are not interested in changing metals.) I suspect, that Jackson
proceeded to cash in on the profits from her book, put in a sell order
with the clearing house, took the proceeds and deposited it in her US
account, then probably transferred the proceeds to an off shore
account. To cover the loss of equity, she comes up with this wild
scheme, to all of a sudden buy palladium? Jackson knew palladium would
fall, I do not think she thought it would crumble that quickly. She is
also an excellent actress and a practised liar, swindler. Jackson
claims to all her clients that she made a mistake and NEEDS MORE MONEY
for margin. But she will make them more money on the new investment,
millions.
Jackson claims that she is NOT charging to change metals for the
palidium trade in March 08, no roll fee, Jackson never does anything
without charging. With all the talk of profit, I sure never saw any,
for anybody!! Mysteriously after all this talk of the hot new metal
that will peak and make huge money, the next day, the very next day,
within 24 hours, palladium tanks. Why only UK clients and not US
clients. US clients could take legal action. Although you would have
to serve Jackson in Budapest, Hungary to sue WBFI. US clients could
check as to where the money actually went with the clearing house. US
clients could still sue the clearing house in Florida and or go to
federal law enforcement. The UK clients have limited recourse and
would have to travel to the US to sue. They could try to sue in
Hungary but her assets are based in the US and off shore, so even if
they won the law suit in Budapest they could not collect any
judgements. Trading in metals is NOT covered by the British FSA, only
stocks and options.
Jackson claims to be under heavy stress and suffers from migraine's.
Jackson hired a private Hungarian doctor to give her injections of so-
called vitamins or cocktails, because of her supposed medical
problems. Jackson claims that she is constantly vomiting blood and
suffers from stress headaches. I have never seen her hospitalized, she
has her partner Blair simply call the doctor and then gets injected
with Morphine or Seconal. Some injections were a mixture of Demerol
and other strong narcotics, that knocked her out for the evening and
the next day. I worked in her home and was asked to stay late to do
evening calls to the UK. When I was ready to leave I saw Jackson on
the living room couch and her pants or skirt lowered and the doctor
injecting her with a large syringe. I also found many needles in their
home and she claimed to be a diabetic. I also found wrappers with a
tarry black substance, many containers for Xanax,Valium as well as
Perkaset, all being prescribed by the Hungarian doctor.

Microsoft Money 2007 Archiving Problem

I am trying to archive my 2007 records as I have done every year. This year I finally got my 401(k) into Money. The problem
is when I ask Money to archive to clear out 2007 the list of accounts to archive does not list my 401(k) at all. So I select all
accounts I can and then in the cleaner file with only 2008 in it all of my paychecks from 2007 still remain in my register
(I'm assuming because the 401(k) is still attached to them and if they disappear things won't balance). Is there something
I can do so that this will not happen. As much as I like my paychecks this seems like an oversight either by me or MS.

Budgeting for Insurance
I'm using MS Money Essentials and I want to account for my Insurance costs on
a monthly basis in my budget. My Insurance is actually only due every 6
months, but I want to put money aside every month so I'll have enough when it
comes due.
So what is the best way to do this?
I've added the "Insurance" category to the budget but since I don't actually
write an expense to any payee every month it always shows as $0.00.
Should I setup a "fake" Insurance Bill that I need to pay every month so
that the budget will reflect it? (and so I don't accidentally spend the

Money 2005 Deluxe
Hope somebody can help me as I am now desparate. I have Money 2005
Deluxe everything is on it and now that I have got a new computer
can't upload the old files. Have tried everything keeps saying can't
find the file that I can see is on the external drive. Any idea?
All help very much appreciated. MS no help at all as they stopped
supporting this in Jan this year.

First State Global Resources - Prices wrong
I'm in UK, trying to have Money update my Unit Trust prices. All the others
work correctly but this one does not - price provided is way too high - and I
have checked symbol is correct on a number of different sites. Symbol

What's going on with Plus?
I just installed MS Money Plus from Money 2006 and found these issues:
1. In Portfolio view, the Total Portfolio Value line that used to show the
totals for the 3 columns I'm displaying are now all the same value and
appear to be Today's Change. How do I change them to reflect the totals for
the 3 columns (in my case, Total Change, Cost Basis and Market Value)?
2. Review Portfolio shows me a blank screen.
I have 17.0.125.1415 running on XP Sp2.

Can't open Money
It tells me password is wrong (but the password works for other passport
sites including online version of portfolio manager), or that if password is
right, server may be down. But it's been this way for 9 hours, so I'm

downloaded Money Essentials, cannot open anything
I just bought and downloaded and registered Money Essentials after using
Moaney Plus for the trial period.
After installation, Essentials does not put a shortcut on the desktop and no
other links to open ONLY Eseentials.
So I got to open up my old link to Money Plus. When I go to sign into
Passport, it gives me a message that Essential cannot open previous versions
of Money or its files. I now cannot open anything and Microsoft wants to
charge me $35 for tech help on their junk product thats not even compatible.
