    - Alpha vs. Date Due listing of Bills/Deposits in Money 2007 I just noticed in the Bills section of my Money 2007, the bills and deposits have suddenly changed in their listing from chronological, i.e. date due, to alphabetical, which I don't want.     - Categories - can I wipe them clean? Hello - I just downloaded the trial version of Money Plus Deluxe yesterday. The reason was, that I had a lot of problems with quicken. Money - so far - works fine for me. I am cautiously feeling my way forward into the application one day at a time. My question: I know that I cannot change the category groups(adding or deleting), because they are needed the way they are for the internal mechanics of Money. The categories BELOW the category groups and the subcategories do not work for me. I need them organized in different ways (I am on the advanced account register). Is there any negative result, if I wipe clean the categories and start my own? With negative results I mean when Money wants to categorize downloaded transaction automatically, but goes on strike b/c it can only find the categories I set up and not the ones the application came with.     - Srolling Price History Graphs If it were possible to scroll all the Graphs using the mouse wheel (or page up/down or Up/Down Arrow) would be a very useful tool to display all the items in the portfolio very quickly. Currently, I have to return to the portfolio and select the investment and return to the graph display. Using the "Compare to" feature does not answer the issue. Also, when using the "Compare to" feature, Buy/Sell tags does not display. This would be nice also.     - Painless Upgrade 2004 to 2007 ? What is the least pianless and most effect way to upgrade from Microsfot Money 2004 to 2007 without losing all my data? When I first tried it would not convert my 2004 file or backup. I tried to create a new file to enter it all manualy but it wouldn't accept my passport password.     - Money Plus downloaded check numbers When Money Plus downloads check transactions from FNB, sometimes the check number gets replaced. This happens when the payee processes it as a substitute check so it shows the number as, e.g., "Substitute check 2024" but the length of the field seems to be limited to 12 characters (substitute c). Is it possible to customize the download process to ignore lettrs in the number field or to selectively ignore some items? What generally happens is I record some checks when ahead of time to make sure I don't forget they are out there, then the download wipes out the number, then I fix it, then the next download does it again, etc. Also, I don't care to see the downloaded numbers for ATM/debit card usage, so I'd like to only accept numbers if they are in a range that I expect.     - need help getting direct deposit paycheck to work with spending & savings budget I am using the trial version of Money Delux Plus 2008 to try out the Spending and Savings budget. During the setup of the budget it told me I had to enter my paycheck in advanced bills in order to track the gross income and deductions for this budget. I had my paystub and set that up; now I see it in Bills. This is the point where I need help. My paychecks are deposited directly into my bank account and the payee varies slightly each time due to it showing account numbers and transaction numbers etc..(ex. 0446 083107 160 ;DES=PAYROLL ;ID=0446 013...) in the payee name as well as the amount varying slightly each time due to how many drinks or snaks I get out of the break room. I didn't know what to put when it asked me the payee druing the paycheck setup, so I used Payroll as the payee since it showed up each deposit consistently in the payee portion of the direct deposits. That may matter..it may not. I also have Money download my bank transactions automatically. The reason I want to use Money is the Spending and Savings budget. The budget tries to track the gross income and deductions, but my budget does not have any amounts show up in the "actual" column. How can I tie my direct deposit, the Paycheck in Bills that knows my gross info, and my budget together so that when I get my direct deposit, the Paycheck in bills associates with it and doesn't show as late, as well as the budget seeing it and accruing "actual" amounts so that my budget works as it should and I can correctly track my retirement and such?     - Money Plus Deluxe "Manual" Activation Seems MS hasn't worked out the bugs on activation. I made "significant" changes to my computer and now cannot activate money. 3 days with Digital River folks with no luck. You need to provide them with Hardware Key - done. You need to provide them with serial number (original "key") - done. The Cutomer Support Override system requires a "Name" and "Key" - I have received two keys but no mention of what name to use. Phone support said use name on original order - done. Doesn't work. I'm patient in that I have another 50+ days to go, but if they don't work this out soon, I will change software. Quicken is just as good according to reviews... If others have had succes using the manual activation "override" I certainly would be interested in knowing. Thanks!     - Bank Merger so will lose Direct Money services so looking for new bank The new bank tells me that driect services in MS Money are insecure and = too costly. I had rejected having an account at their bank because of = its lack of support for direct services and billpay within Money. So = now I am back to looking for a new bank.     - Money Plus (2008): How do I get an electronic payment to be a transfer? I have set up a simple account to track the payments we've made on a personal loan to a friend. I entered an electronic payment (via MSN BillPay) and sent it off to the person. However, Money Plus (2008) did not record that as a transfer from our checking account and tracking this into the simple loan account that I've made up. First question, in the future, how to I make it do that? Second question, how do I enter the amount that I've paid, via BillPay, into the loan account, without it trying to make another transfer out of our checking account, like it wants to do?     - MSM 2002- Auto investment update of pref shares stopped working I am using Money2002. Approx 3-4 weeks ago, the auto updates for all of my preferred share investments (on the TSX) stopped updating. The price column is blank, resulting in a market value of $nil. The auto update works fine for all of my common share investments (on the TSX). The same problem persists in other 'Money' files I have to monitor other investments. (ie. the preferred shares have stopped being updated automatically and the equity ones work fine). Therefore it is not a file specific issue. I can manually update the prices and the market value is calculated properly. I have tried removing the stock symbol and having Money find the link (it can find the preferred share ok and it assigns the proper stock symbol). I then tried to auto update and price appears as blank. Any ideas? It is odd that only the preferred shares are affected and not the common shares. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?     - Recording a spin-off in MS Money 2007 de luxe When I try to record a spin-off using the function that purports to do that, in the investment account Money "removes" the parent shares then "adds" back the parent shares with their assigned basis and the spun-off shares with their share of the basis. All well and good, if a little bit clunky (my guess is that the new holdings will be deemed to be acquired on the spin-off date rather than the original acquisition date). But here's my problem. For some reason Money seems to think that it should also decrement the associated cash account by the amount of the cost basis. This is so obviously incorrect that I must be doing something wrong, but I can't see what. Searches in the knowledge base and in this newsgroup have not helped.     - Running Money 2003 in Vista Hi I run this version perfectly satisfactorily in my Vista Ultimate desktop.with my normal log on. No fiddling was required to get it to start. It worked perfectly out of the box, just as in XP Referring to emails on earlier versions in the Newsgroup, my data is in a Documents folder on the D Drive well away from Vista, though it is secured. In this machine SSL2 is not enabled I have a newish laptop running Windows Home Premium with a similar configuration for all my data on the D drive. I recently tried to open Money for the first time since installation using a copy of the Money file from my Vista Ultimate system. The product closes down immediately on starting. with no warning, no Vista looking for a solution etc - I have enabled SSL2. - I have reinstalled the product. - I have tried to open the blank Money installation file All to no effect. When I look at the advanced properties for the icon the "Run as Administrator" option is grayed out.in both machines. When I log on to the laptop as "The Administrator " Money 2003 runs ok I was able to set it to open the file in my personal user area. However following this, when I logged to my usual account, which of course has administrator privileges, nothing had changed from the above report In the laptop the only product I have troubles with is Money 2003.     - Asset Classes I believe that we would all benefit from an update of the definitions of stock asset classes in Money. The small cap definition of below $1 billion CAP and mid cap definition of $1b - $5b etc. are very outdated. As exmple, nearly every prominent financial service sets the minimum for large CAP at $8 - $10B. You have it at $5b. Perhaps the software definitions have been imported from the original version of Money without critical review. (If we change the asset class of a stock in Money, we can no longer download information about it.) This discrepancy skews the Money asset allocation charts to the point that they are useless. You also do not have categories for mega-CAP or micro-CAP, or foreign versus U.S. These are real problems for those of us who actively manage our investments. I just downloaded Money Plus today, and was very disappointed to see these problems still exist. Please let me know if you plan to fix them.     - Home Depot Removed from Bank lists? I noticed about a week ago that my Home Depot Credit card account is no longer updating. I checked the list of financial institutions that are supported at http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx and it no longer appears in the list. Of course, this list is on a web page for Money Plus so I don't know if it is valid for Money 2007 Deluxe or not. I opened a support request with MS and they are telling me that the problem is with Yodlee and that Yodlee is working on the problem. I think that may be incorrect since I can log into a Yodlee account accumulation account and it will still talk to and update with Home Depot Credit Card. In MS Money 2007 Deluxe on the Review Update Results page the following message for Home Depot Credit Card shows with an ! icon: "This bank or brokerage no longer provides online updates to Money. You can update this account by typing in transactions." Looks to me like MS has arbitrarily removed Home Depot Credit Card from the list.     - Compatible Product Hi, I am currently a Quicken user an have been with wuicken for over 8 years. I am really happy with it. Since I plan on moving to UK next year, I just found out that Intuit no longer have UK version of quicken. This is not forcing me to move to a different product. It appears to me that there is a difference because when I went to the amazon.com website to check out the prices they listed both programs at differenct prices.     - Online service expiring? Reading this board, It sounds like my M2004 online services has expired as of 9/1. I think that means I will not be able to download transactions from my various account providers. Although I have downloaded without any problems in the last couple of days I guess it will stop soon.     - A Short History of Banking A Short History of Banking In the old days there was no paper money. The accepted token of exchange was precious metal minted into coins by the Church and the Crown. Because there was only a limited amount of gold and silver available, the economic life of the nation had a certain regularity. An even greater restriction existed throughout Christendom. This was a prohibition against usury, or charging interest. The Church held it to be a grave sin and the code was upheld by the civil powers. There were harsh penalties for those who broke the law. The regulation of usury was to prevent the separation of money from reality. Money is not a good, it is a measure. It is fraud to pretend otherwise, and constitutes theft. Usury is making money from lending money; it is making money from nothing. This is exactly what is happening today on a colossal scale. Several important things arose from the prohibition of usury in medieval Christendom. Firstly Jews, who had taken to wandering around Europe in the Middle Ages, began to specialize in money-lending and other practices which were forbidden to Christians. Exploited Christians, both peasants and aristocracy, found themselves being bled dry by usurers, which is why there were sporadic uprisings, imprisonments and expulsions of Jews throughout Europe. It is one reason why King Edward I expelled these perfidious people from England in 1290. Oliver Cromwell allowed them back when the moral authority of the Church was undermined and the King was beheaded in 1649. Secondly, gold coins, jewels and other valuables were deposited with people who held strongboxes. This was usually with goldsmiths and money-lenders who, more often than not, were one and the same. These loan-sharks and scriveners realized that, without much chance of being found out, they could charge people for looking after their deposits and then use those deposits - which did not belong to them - to make loans to other people at interest. They soon became rich and powerful. Gold coins are heavy and awkward to carry around so the custom arose whereby the money-lenders would issue credit notes to depositors who began to trade these notes between themselves in commercial transactions. Paper money had come into existence. A new form of usury developed as the swindling money-lenders realized the immoral benefits that could be obtained from such a situation. It became apparent to these thieves that they could go one step further than dishonestly using other people's money for financial advantage at no cost to themselves. They could invent money from absolutely nothing. They could issue credit notes with nothing to back them up and put them into circulation as interest-bearing debts. No-one would be any the wiser. They calculated that they could safely issue notes for up to ten times more than the gold deposits they held, because the depositors would never ask for their deposits back all at the same time. The principle of modern banking was thus established: invent money from nothing, put it into circulation as "running cash notes" that have to be paid back with real wealth that is produced from our labour, sit back and become unbelievably wealthy and powerful men: hidden rulers of nations. In England this deceitful system was officially sanctioned in 1694. The usurper of the throne, William of Orange, had overthrown the legitimate King James II with the financial backing and plotting of powerful Jewish financiers in Amsterdam. In return he gave the sovereignty of England to a group of financiers by means of a Charter allowing them to call themselves the Bank of England. The Charter made no mention of issuing the nation's money, but within minutes of signing the new Bank officials were discussing the form of their "running cash notes." The same system was adopted in every country by a process of Masonic revolution and manipulation. Although the injustices of the capitalist system have been attacked in volume after volume, and rightly so, they have never even hinted at the usury upon which the whole system is built and from which all the other injustices stem. Perhaps this is because so many Communist leaders are Jewish. Most of the 'Russian Revolutionists' of 1917 were actually Jews from the lower east side of New York City. Two hundred and seventy-five of them were conveyed to Russia aboard the S.S. Christiana, led by Trotsky and financed by Kuhns, Loebs, Schiffs and Warburgs. This cosy circle of Jews and Freemasons financed both sides of the Great War. Marx and Engels, two more Jews, wrote the Communist Manifesto on behalf of a secret society calling themselves 'The League of Just Men.' This secret society was an arm of the Illuminati, whose power and influence was the catalyst of the French Revolution. One of the founding members of the Illuminati was the House of Rothschild, the Jewish banking house which practically invented supra-nationalism for personal profit. THE SITUATION TODAY Nowadays banking has become extremely sophisticated but the hidden and usurious mechanism behind it remains the same. After a big enquiry, hushed up as much as possible, the Bank of England was nationalised in 1946. In theory control of the Bank of England should then have passed from a group of private individuals to the British Government, but this is still not the case. Nationalisation only added a thin veneer of respectability. The British Treasury, in conjunction with the Bank of England's advisers to the Government, determine how much paper money and coin will be issued each year. This has to accord with the wealth of the nation for that year. But because banknotes and coins only account for a tiny percentage of financial transactions, it makes no difference to the bankers at all. Most financial transactions are carried out with abstract figures on a computer screen that have no relationship to real wealth. Everything has to be paid for at interest though - even when it doesn't exist! The Government still has to pay interest on old and new loans from the Bank. Only a few years ago it was announced that the interest debt on a loan taken during the Napoleonic War had just been paid off! This is where much of our tax money goes. THE NEXT STAGE The next stage of development for international finance is to get rid of cash altogether. Then the token accountability of the bankers will disappear along with the cash. Their intention is that everyone will have to use credit/debit cards for every type of commercial transaction. Electronic technology, when used this way, and when it is not merely widespread but compulsory, will give them complete control of every man, woman and child in the world. If you cannot buy or sell - food, petrol, clothes - without a card you are completely at their mercy. If you lose the card or it doesn't work for some reason you will suffer until issued with a replacement. If you make a protest against some particular injustice they could invalidate your card. The next time you go to the supermarket your card may not work. You won't officially exist! Who benefits from such a scheme? The politicians or the bankers? To ask the question is to answer it. The Bank of England is the real, but hidden, government of the country. The Government and the politicians are merely puppets controlled by the Bank - or, more accurately, the international banking families. None of our cowardly politicians dare stand up to these hidden and unelected rulers of the world, so powerful have they become. Two American presidents, possibly three, were assassinated for attempting to do so. It is far easier for them to submit to the system and enjoy a rich life than expose the real tyrants: tyrants who cause high taxes, unemployment, war, famine and misery for the rest of us. I just installed the Money Plus Deluxe (retail box). The first time I
ran it, it asked me to update Money Plus. After the update, I can't
sign in using the Windows Live ID. It keeps saying "You must be
connected to the internet to sign in online". However, I am connect to
the internet. I also noticed that the update message it showed seems
to mention "RC3 bit". That doesn't sound right. Anyone has seen this
too?

I'm running Vista 32-bit. I just tried it again and it works now. I
think you need to reboot the machine after update.
