While the symptoms and even versions differ somewhat, I would try
the steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321354/en-us except for
the reports part. Do the things in your test with sample.mny that
you do when the problem occurs with your own file.
The point is to try to determine if the problem is with the
installation or the particular file. And if the problem is the file,
take repair steps.
File repair steps would be File->RepairMoneyFile->QuickFileRepair
and assuming the problem still exists, then
File->RepairMoneyFile->StandardFileRepair. If you have problems
with that, you can also use methods described for Money 2003 in
