Money Keeps Crashing, & My Post to this Newsgroup Keeps Getting Pulled

Why to both?

Again, Money crashes whenever I exit. I'm guessing I should try &
reinstall. Will that work?

And this is my 3rd post about this. Is Bill pulling it because there is no
solution?

I find posts from Tony Kozlowski on 2/11/06 ("Money 2006 Still Crashing", 1
reply) and 2/4/06 ("Money 2006 Crashes on Exit", 6 responses, including one
from Tony Kozlowski).

Why don't you get with the program and use
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.money instead of the rather
lame Earthlink news servers that expire postings quickly? You might also
want to consider if the settings for your newsreader are weeding out
postings quickly. The default in OE will weed downloaded posts pretty
quickly.

are using Outlook Express as a newsreader. Do you have View > Current View
> Show All Messages set.

Perhaps you haven't received an answer to you question because you have not
given enough details about your setup and your problem.

No I do not see my other messages.

Now it seems I'm fighting a bad newsgroup reader and a bad news server. Yea
team!!

Money crashes when I exit. Win98SE. 384MB RAM. Big HDD with lots of space
left. DSL. What else could help solve this problem?

Suggest you revisit the settings for message retention once downloaded.
(Tools|Options|Maintenance in OE for WinXP. Can't say what in
Win98SE--thankfully haven't used it for four years or so.)

As to Money, what version? Have you tried the repair tools on your data
file? Can you exit the sample file normally?

I have version 15.0.125.513.

I tried a different data file & same thing happens.

Also when I try to quit Money and it gives me the Internal Error message, Do
you want to sent to Microsoft, I have been saying No. Then Money looks like
it is quitting, but then it starts up again. If I again Close the prog, I
again get the same Internal Error message, and the same Do you want to send
to Microsoft, if I say No, then Money quits again then stays quit. For this
2nd time, there is no data file involved, this all happens on the initial
password screen.

Have you tried the Sample file or simply a File|New? Have you tried any of
the voodoo? (http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=130) This thread is getting so
time-extended, I forget: have you tried the repair tools on the file?

Oh, and have you done all of the Internet Updates? I'm not sure whether
15.x.x.513 is. Come to think of it, I'm not sure there have been any M06
updates.

You don't have the same problem. Tony was running Money 2005 that
was not updated.

When you say crashes, what happens? Is there an error message?

Did you try opening and closing without saving the sample money.mny
file? Also what operating system. Also try purging all your IE temp
files from within IE options

All of the original Febr 06 posts are still on servers but may not be
on your ISP's nntp server. I suggest you try forteinc freeagent and
also the google groups which is very good for searching.

upgraded from Money 2004

"The program ["C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money

Would you like to save a dump file? Yes/No"

Then I get the standard, "would you like to tell MS about this?"

This happens every time I edit anything in an account. If I launch Money and
immediately close it, it will close without error.

I see all the posts, but didn't see a resolution to the problem, which is
why I asked. I also saw Tony K's other posts that described his problem a
bit more. Money 2006 crashing on exit. Same problem I'm having.

While the symptoms and even versions differ somewhat, I would try
the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321354/en-us except for
the reports part. Do the things in your test with sample.mny that
you do when the problem occurs with your own file.

The point is to try to determine if the problem is with the
installation or the particular file. And if the problem is the file,
take repair steps.

File repair steps would be File->RepairMoneyFile->QuickFileRepair
and assuming the problem still exists, then
File->RepairMoneyFile->StandardFileRepair. If you have problems
with that, you can also use methods described for Money 2003 in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/182608/en-us

I'm running M6 on Win2K with no problems. Ran M3 and M6 on Win98SE w/
no problems. I am no longer running Win98SE. My operating systems
were/are updated with critical Support updates. I never used
Passport nor Money files on a MS server. I have bank, broker, and
credit card accounts auto updated from within money. I also update a
couple of bank accounts from the bank sites. I have 3 mny files for
family members.

Did you try the sample money.mny file? I think this is an important
test because if that doesn't work then you have an operating system
problem ... most possible an F'd up Registry or nasty malware. Let us
know how goes the sample.

Yes, your problem sounds the same as what I had. To fix it, I went to
Microsoft's Knowledge base and found an article that exactly described how
to fix it. You need to roll back a few files to a older rev. That did it
for me with no other ill effects that I can determine.

You could search my previous posts or do a search on MSDN.
