I just installed XP Pro and want to install Money 2002.
It says I need Serive Pack 5 on the box under System
Requirements. Do I really need it to install and run
this application properly?

Many thanks.

Service Pack 5 to what?

I think you mean it says it needs IE5. IE6 will do. IE4 won't run on XP.

The packaging on Money 2002 says I need Windows XP
running Service Pack 5.

There is no such think as XP service pack 5.

What is says (and this may be somewhat confusing, I'll admit:

"Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, or Windows NT
4.0 operating system or later running Service Pack 5."

There is a Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5. There is no service pack 5 to any
of the other operating systems listed.

But if you want to try to go and find a SP 5 to XP, go for it. Let me know
where you find it and I'll install it as well.

You are correct, I could not find a Service Pack 5 for
XP, so I guess that must be referring to Windows NT 4.0
as you surmised. Thanks for your help! I'll just go
ahead and install Money 2002 then.

running Service Pack 5."

Was talking with Dick Watson, the other person on this
thread, and he mentioned the fact that the Serice Pack 5
is referring to Windows NT 4.0 b/c there is no service
pack 5 for XP, but there is one for NT 4.0
